Vater Araignee
I have been smoking for 20 years and never truly tried to stop. Its been 4 days cold turky now and my sence of smell is improving and I dont like it. Every thing around me smells horrid! Did the world allways smell so bad? I can't even convince myself to start back smoking to cover up the smell 'cause everyone around me that smokes smells like the are exhailing clouds of dried piss. This sucks I feel like I need to jamb some rubber plugs up my nose and glue them in. Oh the horror. The horror
Lilith
i was just thinking and i came up with an idea to help, maybe control what you smell...... choose a sent you do like, perfume, herbs, candles etc....... see if you can find it in a liquid form and take a dab and rub it on the tip of yer nose, this way your nose smells the good scent for a bit and you get some relief from the nasty scents. other then that i dont know what to say other then...........WAY TO GO

gothicmom
Light LOTS of candles to kill smells. You'll get used to smells, although I'm not sure what smells you are talking about.
Fierce Critter
Yeah - clarify what smells are bothering you. My husband quit cold-turkey after smoking about 6 years. When in the presence of cigarette smoke or places where people smoke heavily and leave a lot of residue, it makes him really ill. He can't believe he ever smoked when he smells that now. I'm surprised that you think everything else stinks. I've always had people tell me that when they quit, they realised that smoking stinks. gothicmom
I don't have any experience in this, but I'm sure this will fade....or you'll get used to the new smells. 20 years of nonsmell is a VERY long time.
Vater Araignee
I tried to take a hit this morning (the kids where pissing me off for no reason) and almost barfed. Oh did I mention I did not choose to stop smoking my body made the decision for me.
fallennon
When I quit smoking I also realized that the world stunk. Unfortunately, I started to smoke again. Couldn't handle the smell of everyone once I could smell them!

Daniel
"And yet I'm thinking what is better die in 20 years to cancer or spend every day of the next 30 years ill because the world stinks " Having witnessed the former, I can't recommend it. It isn't pleasant, and it is painful, and the last year of your life will be hell. Dealing with odors is seriously easier.
