  1. Well, I think the width is fine, it's the height that takes up all the space. How to balance it so its obvious but not so huge I guess is just to shrink the vertical size down which means having no picture or just a tiny 'mood' line of color or something. When Wikipedia goes on a donation binge all they have is bold text a bit larger than their normal text with an obvious donate button. (just thinking out loud there)
  2. Awesome. If I had some more lead time on these I could use my facebook marketing expertise to send well-targeted traffic to this sort of stuff. (Local events that aren't afraid to actually use the word 'goth' in their promotional materials is all I'd be interested in using my resources on.
  3. For some reason, I keep thinking @firekitten15 will end up with one of these. Or (hah) @RosyBlue who the bunny/kitty thing originated with.
  4. Just curious do you know the number of the earliest one? Just trying to picture when I first started seeing you guys there and am at a loss. Hope to see you Thursday.
  5. Ho Lee Shit. Pilot episode greenlit. (If you have not been watching game of thrones, get on it. If you are a reader the books and the extremely detailed universe is great)
  6. Dad, you and I didn't always see eye to eye but you always had my back. Even though you've been gone awhile, I still think about you all the time. You instilled in me a crazy hard work ethic which is, in all honesty why I'm still alive. When I get sick and tired of being sick and tired I think of how you would have dealt with it. Keep working on it. I miss you. Happy fathers day.
  7. Ignoring everything else my damn eyes literally feel like a cross between concrete blocks and butterflies. (Barely keep them open and they twich like crazy) Doc told me it's due to sleep deprivation and stress. I can't freaking function. I've got a new cpap machine, blackout drapes, been cleaning clutter apparently can cause sleep issues) eating better, (not easy with zero money, crap food is cheap) TRYING to work out as diet & exersize are the sort of gold standard for fixing this shit . Gahhhhhh I cannot get more than 2 hours sleep its been months. Which means everything else is going berserk.
  8. That's great. The new science backed way doesn't require much change and typically seems to increase the results by a mininimum of 3x. Can do like a n hour workout (legitamtely) in 20 mins and is likely more effective. Lots of variations but a simple version is go 100% for 30secs-1 minute then just rest for 1-2 minutes, repeat till that fills up 8 mins+ or so. If your doing it right you won't make it longer than 45 (100% means absolutely 100%). Google 'High intensity interval training' it's been a thing for awhile but didn't have search to back it up. Now its 'the way'.
  9. I have been slowly cleaning my dump of a room and found a bunch more bumper stickers. If you want one all you have to do is ask and promise to stick it on something (preferably a car) and take a picture and post it here.
  10. To re-iterate I believe in saying more than "thanks" for significant help with House Spiral (DGN, DGN FB, Me, HouseSpiralGothic.com (our charity business), The Gathering, other Degon holders, HSG (House Spiral Gaming), My Youtube Channel, our occasional movie nights...) and someone being trustworthy. These are given to people that I trust and have helped to some significant level with at least 2 aspects of the above in some sort of 'value' of around $100+ This could be 5 bucks and then just a bunch of help with the board here or any combination but words don't mean a ton. An actual action does. Time & Money deserves recognition and so does someone I think is part of our "extended family". There will be 'higher levels' of recognition (Hell people like Tron and Bobbi are probably up near the 10k range in terms of all the money and especially EFFORT). But this is the 'core' recognition item that says you are a helpful trustworthy part of house spiral. The new-ish way is to have at least 2 people, one of them being me, vouch for the person. I know @Draco1958 will vouch for nitewolf and he has been very helpful. So far we have: @TronRP @sekhmet2002 @Draco1958 @Moe Falcon @Nitewolf @LadyFreak @Trene4000 @Stu @Marblez @sycosis @RosyBlue I'll have to do a write up of more specifics about the above at some point but right now everyone on the list pretty much 'met the standard' without having any guidelines, they are just helpful so there hasn't been a need for any specifics beyond what is stated above. Congratulations @Nitewolf ... well, pre-congratulations. See you Thursday hopefully.
  11. The idea is not comfort. If that was the idea then we'd all just wear old lady dusters, housecoats and the butt ugly athletic tennis shoes that they make these days (which I actually need. I tore up 2 pairs from payless in less than 2 years and just exercise in my socks or no socks in the house now as all I have left is dress shoes. lol). It's about style. (Not judging either way just saying) The above graph is kinda just silly due to the fact that its the whole state. LA, NYC, CHI, East Coast Florida, Beverly Hills places like that all have higher heel averages but when you average it out over the whole state it gets meaningless. (LOL) OMG 10 minutes of looking at shoes and I'm good for like 5 years. Ugh! lol.
  12. I shrunk the donation thing down but its probably still too big. Really frustrating that it looks so odd on the desktop version. To fix both will probably require a lot of hours and custom-ish things. GRRR. Tron here is just an interesting quick sort of "best practices" for mobile sites, short and to the point: https://www.sitepoint.com/7-best-practices-designing-mobile-user-experience/ The key one there I think its to try and keep things "scaleable" rather than a fixed size. Not that that is always easy to do. (or at least a fixed size that looks decent on desktop and good on mobile)
  13. My thinking on that is that people here should be "goth friendly" but that's about the extent of it. Helps keep closed minded people away and does give gothy-inclined people a safer place to post about things than say Reddit or some other troll filled discussion place.
  14. Yeah, that's rare. Although I probably access it via the computer about 70% of the time mostly because its hard to do some of the more admin-y things via mobile.
  15. More hugs. Oh... ok something less important: (lol) My meal replacement shakes because they don't cost much money per-meal and they help me eat better (and lose weight). Really trying hard to get this horrific sleep problem under control which includes EVERYTHING from exercise to better 'sleep hygiene' to cognitive behavioral therapy.
  16. Need to get one of the hats with the two cans and the tube that goes to your mouth and we can just wear them around fill up one of the cans with rum.
  17. Is that updated? Also there is a thing that lets you set "priority" so people know which one of the things you would prefer first.
