1. Note the custom name. Pictures are magic the gathering characters. @sekhmet2002 @TronRP
2. On the left is Annie and her bear Tibbers. Dark scary can transform her normal teddy bear into the monster behind her. The right is Vayne ,vampire hunter. Both have an extensive storyline. (Leauge of Legends Characters)
3. Love the donate block. Noticed (awhile ago) the "dgn night" getting removed from the banner (good) although I had a mild /sniffles about good old DGN night (not that there is anything to be done about it). Mostly I don't have the energy (which might change if i could get some GOD DANG SLEEP) secondarily is the $$ & health, otherwise, we'd have a DGN night every Saturday just like we used to. The location would have to change as there is no "every saturday" gothy-place within driving distance anymore. /sniffles. The old banner was an 'image map" (various areas of an image clickable and lead to different places... such as the donate button leading to the donation post and "dgn night" leading to the nightlife forum (and the banner itself just leading to the home page). I'll do that... after I get all the cards done, and figure out my finances... ok maybe ill have to skip that last part heh. I'm hoping to add a "micro badge" system at some point, that is a whole series of icons that would go under your profile picture <------- over there and denote various things from simple stuff such as say a badge that means "likes cats" or something bigger like "top donor" or just random things that people would like stars , skulls whatever. Similar to the "supporter" and "benefactor" icons but a lot more extensive. Unfortunately, the way IPB works right now it gets really confusing and a pain in the ass to do what I'm thinking about needs customization. *another thing on the to-do list that will be gotten to god knows when* (and it is something I personally need to do, as I'm pretty relaxed about most changes to the board but icons under everyone's name I know I'll be anal about. /hangs head. Thanks for all the hard work, time, money and encouraging presence. *hugs* One thing I would like to see is a way for images to be auto-resized to fit the board / some maximum size that we can set (and if you clicked on that reduced image it would open up to whatever we want to call "full size". I looked around for something that would do that but didn't find anything (granted I only looked for about 20 minutes) People really like pictures if we could figure that out and make it easier to add them that probably would be big.
4. Sometime before the last gathering of the month (thats this week) ill look at the monthly tab of the top posters and that's how these get decided.
5. If you look at the stats 80% of users are on a phone. So as much as you can stand it, try to look at it on the phone rather than the desktop. A lot of the cool features this site has been lost on phone users. 😞 I know the CRAZY amount of time that gets spent "behind the scenes" for every 1 thing that gets changed in a visible way. I'll make a different banner at some point, one that goes better with the black > white (red) color scheme. Which is a pan-house spiral color scheme, not that anything other than DGN and HouseSpiral.com has the option of using it. (and the HouseSpiral "stuff" (cards, the pins.. things to come) Random FYI that maybe 4 people will read: DeeGee (the little bat) is specifically the logo for DGN. Deegon (the dragon) is the "house sigil" for the whole group of things (DGN, HS.com, The Gathering (which has no real mascot as yet) , various gaming things, the currently inactive but I've got plans to restart it at some point YouTube channel, Me, My 'real' family (not necessarily my biological family) and the House Spiral Deegon holders which are close to family, as one of the requirements to get the pin is that I trust you. But going forward it might be a bit awkward as everyone that currently has them did everything without any expectation of any recognition) /ramble mode off.
6. http://fandom.wikia.com/articles/5-old-school-80s-anime-that-are-better-than-anything-on-right-now?li_source=LI&li_medium=wikia-rail Other Than Akira I've not heard of any of them (which isn't saying much since i stopped regularly watching anime around 1996)
7. You can get them as podcasts but they have video: Democracy Now https://www.youtube.com/user/democracynow The Young Turks https://www.youtube.com/user/TheYoungTurks Would watch both regularly if you want to be informed and not just head deep in fluff.
8. Fluff: Game of Thrones TV (Probably The Walking Dead and Westworld are next in line) Neither show is about what you think on the surface. A Song of Ice and Fire Novels (and the sourcebooks and the maps). The Silo Series (Hugh Howey... gonna be turned into a movie any minute now) Ready Player One only has 1 book out so far but there is another coming. (if forced to pick a "favorite") Not sure I really 100% have one. I've got SO MUCH that I like that picking one is like picking my favorite arm. Not Counting Game of Thrones (more the novels, but the show is amazing). I don't mean amazing like Robotech I mean amazing like if Shakespeare was still alive and spoke normal English and had a HUGE budget, Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire is what he would have come up with. Twilight Zone (the original back & white show), Battlestar Galactica 2.0 (TV), The Prisoner (amazingly advanced for its time), Rescue Me (underrated, very impressive), The Wire, The Shield. All A+ stuff. I could go on like this for two pages. I don't really have a favorite book "series" other than A Song of Ice and Fire (which you can read like 5 times and find something new every time) used to like DragonLance a lot but I wouldn't go around saying it's my favorite. The Eisnehorn Trilogy set in the hands down best sci-fi universe (Warhammer 40k). Most books that are really good are one-off books that come to mind. /end Fluff /Important stuff far more important than any of that fluffy nonsense we all worship How Do We Know What Is Really True - The Magic of Reality (Illustrated kind of expensive I can let anyone borrow it, its a 'young adult" book. ) Sad this book even needs to exist but its important. How To Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie (at least the first section, it's in 3 sections and the first part is like basic stuff we should already know but don't the world would be a better place) The Definitive Edition of Anne Franks Diary (big shock who this is written by) Mans Search for Meaning by Victor Frankel (survivor of Nazi Auschwitz Concentration Camp and other than Win Friends is a universally recommended book by pretty much everyone that is serious about non-fluff) All must-reads for every human on the planet.
9. We were asleep when the shitbag currently running the FCC sold the internet to the highest bidder, this is probably our last chance to save it from becoming owed by these traitors. The vote is TOMORROW. If you actually care call too. This is a HUGE deal. ONE VOTE AWAY from repealing. Sign this today: https://stopthefcc.net/?source=5PFAW
10. That is Liliana Vess on the left and Nico Bolas on the right (Nico being described as the oldest most evil and most powerful being in fiction around when time began and has orchestrated events in history thousands of years before they happened. Think stronger than Satan and just a notch below Jehovah level of scary power. Yet he is virtually never seen)
11. Ritual Night In Darkness. Around, all around, the angels gather. My dread grows as an avenging sword falls against my heart. It severs me, and dreadfully my blood drips to the thirsty earth. In horror, I dance while my doom approaches. Now alone, my fervent plea falls upon uncaring eyes.
12. Poor teachers. (Well PUBLIC SCHOOL teachers) There is widespread verbal support for teachers but when it comes time to pay them people turn into ghosts.
13. Carbon - Your Gaming Website! Sweet I finally found my gaming website! lol (teasing)
14. Yeah, that is all the emoji that are universal (which is cool)... Now I can't seem to find the regular emoticons.
15. I heard this last year from several people. Had to message everyone I could think of. I'm sure it's very dishearting. *hugs*
16. @Stu @Nitewolf @Draco1958 @LadyFreak @RosyBlue @Oz_ @trav13369 @Moe Falcon Not sure who else to tag. Just tagging here as I'm unsure if tagging really works on an edited post (If you are reading this because you are tagged see the topic post above)
17. Ah ok. I get it. Good. 🐉🐇🦔🦊🐈 I'm thinking the cards don't need to be requested for this, so that's at least 13 cards so far. heh. (Whish I had ESP and knew who gives zero fucks about the cards so I don't force one on them by handing it to them) Some people are just polite and won't say they don't want one.
18. So right now I have 4 seats that no one is sitting in. The payment info comes after looking at the map of where the seats are. My brain hurts. *thinks* lol The bracketed seats despite having Marblez/Tina's picture are 'mine' 4 of which I still need to come up with the money for. (I really can't eat these tickets) I assumed it would be easy as pie to fill them, due to a misunderstanding we have even more seats now (taken) but these four are still not. (Once we get there we can figure out who is sitting where in the 4 seats. In that group will be me Bobbi +2. They are $15 a person (exactly what I paid for them).
