  2. Yeah i was thinking that might be one of the side benifits of listening to DGN Radio. Especially for the target audience of the "not quite so hardcore, casual listener" people.

  4. Thanks brooke. I'll have to look into that part, there should be a "comments" field. Anyhow thank you very much. Should be added to the supporter group within a few minutes.
  5. Thanks for the nice comment. Makes me feel like im doing something worthwhile. =)
  6. ok thanks. Should just be 3. Mods , should see the 2 other ones. Your not missing out though (non mods) the other two are junk.
  7. Its been awhile but a few people had asked how they could get their signatures to be right at the bottom of posts(the board was randomly adding blank space to the bottom of signatures) Had no idea what the problem was at the time. Should be fixed now. Researched it its a bug.
  8. Cruxshadows - Winterborn (on dgn radio) love this song heh.
  9. I'll add a blurb about suggesting artists/songs here. =)
  10. Okie doke. Will be awhile (maybe a day or so) im still working on a lot of backend radio stuff and random other board things... that somehow turn into hours and hours of work.
  11. Lol your sig Dark V. I actually at one time prided myself on having large passages of that poem memorized. good times.
  12. I gutted about 8 hours worth of music as i wasnt happy with the levels / distortion. Not sure if anyone would notice as you'd have to listen for 12 hours to hear a repeat but anyhow ill get it back up + more. Right now... ima go pass out. :peanutbutterjellytime
  13. Important meaning, influential over the "scene" landscape. Its a phrase often used by musical historians/music reporters. Noting to get annoyed about. Doesn't even always mean a band is all that good or well-known , many so-called important bands aren't liked all that much by a lot of people. Throbbing Gristle anyone? Since i'm a freak i do hunt down academic stuff but i wont play it if its unlikely to be enjoyed by many people. No need to impress "cool music people" Siouxie in particular is an old-school goth band. Often the various writers lament the lack of a modern successor to her, with the exception possibly Switchblade Symphony (also pretty heavily covered on DGN Radio) which the "in crowd" seems to give universally good reviews of. Not sure if thats a plus or a minus. Yes it is and they are a good band. I've actually been enjoying listening to this stream. Forced me to listen to things and hunt stuff down that i havent given a good listen to in a long time. Re-learning how to like the guitar/drums sound again. Which i think i've been sort of brainwashed against in recent years. Let me know what you like, if a lot of people tend to like something i can focus on encoding that stuff first. Eventually i plan on having virtually "everything" in terms of the goth/industro/synth "anthems", but that will be a long long process.
  14. Its fun to do. Even adding nothing is adding just fine.
  15. Sure but since they will go into a 20 hour + rotation ... might be awhile before you hear it. If its by any decent band that's not on the list (or has less than 2 tracks.. which i dont list) it might end up in my "bands to be encoded" list which is pretty long atm. Glad you guys like it. 99% of the reason i spent so much time on DGN (and am going to have another full time job keeping DGN Radio updated) is becasue i hope people will enjoy it. Makes me happy. Comments like this are what keep me going.
  16. Theres no "live DJing" per se its fairly pointless in the age of the internet unless we are going to do live call-in or something. Which i've got no plans for in the immediate future. I just spent the last 40 hours of my life setting this up. Lot more time consuming than i expected. But anyway. Don't need much help DJing. Need help getting people on the board, keeping the place friendly, and getting stuff paid for mainly.
  17. Dgn Radio - Up/Down For A (massive) update. Im working on re-encoding every file and adding new stuff to work with a new universal embeded player. That is, 1 click playing regardless of OS/Music Player. ( May 24th , 2007) The DGN Radio Project - Online 24/7 Thanks for listening to DGN Radio, playing great Gothic, Industrial, EBM, Synthpop and a few surprizes, 24 hours a day. A bias toward Goth/InIndustrial/Synth music that is fairly accessable to the average listener. DGN Radio should be free, have no ads, and require no special signup or software to listen to. One of the following should be true of the Artist(s) or Track(s) suggested: ---> Fairly well known Gothic/Industiral/Synth/EBM or closely associated artist. Especially as we get started may be missing a few "big" artists. ---> Have a fairly distinct Goth theme or sound to them. This is mostly relevant to tracks from artists that are not traditionally associated with Goth but might have a few particular tracks that fit well here. Anything that "sounds" gothic - whatever that means- is fair game. Obviously all of the above are judgement calls and are open to much debate. As stated above ALL tracks should be fairly "accessable" to the average listener. Suggestions of the above nature welcomed and encouraged. Also if you have a website/journal and would like to help. Please link to DGN Radio if you have space here is some various link-to buttons including the dynamic DGN Radio playlist banner: Link to DGN Radio!

  21. Yeah theres several dozen different projects you could choose from. Just the cool kids know seti is best. THIS THREAD FOR SETI @ HOME. Not any of that other chaff. So far my gimp computer hasn't finished 1 seti work unit. Although i tried it way back when like 4 years ago and it took almost 35 hours for my old 486 to complete one. Looks like it will take about 5 with the new software and computer.
  22. Im going to use this topic as the "SETI@DGN" page. Please keep the commentary directly about setting seti up or discussions about SETI@DGN. If you dont LIKE SETI or some such...Feel free to just start a new post please. SETI at home is pretty interesting and has spawned lots of similar projects worldwide for people that want to help. Basically there is tons of radio astronomy data recorded, but not enough processing power at the various academic/scientific research locations to process it all to see if there are any Extra Terrestrial signals embedded in all that data. (funding is virtually non existent) So that's were the "at home" comes in. You download a free client that runs as a screen saver whenever your computer is not doing anything. It takes a small chunk of the unprocessed data, makes a pretty screen saver and sifts though the data. Then it sends the finished data back to seti@home. No they haven't found anything yet. If your interested in such insanity download the client here : http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ And then join the DGN Seti Team Here: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/team_member...y=expavg_credit
