Hrmm interesting. Its been almost a decade (omg im ancient) since I've been actively involved in academia , but hell if i had my choice i think i'd just be a full time student , forever, that'd rock.... sniff... So your primary interest is in what exactly? Non-human primate behavior? "primatology" i guess that's called?

Wow. Sound like a very interesting person. When you say your "senior thesis" i assume your school offers some sort of alternate graduation process , such as various electives and/or lecture courses that you could have chosen to complete your degree or were you basically "forced" to do a senior thesis? From your post i assume your degree will be in Zoology or just a general bachelors of science ? (at U of M most everyone ended up with a "of Science" degree regardless if it was Physics or Computer Sci or Psychology as i remember)

Sleep? What's that? Exercise & good diet helps. But i know how it is, damn brain, just cant seem to shut the damn thing off!! "Blanking your mind out" style meditation rarely works for me as that "blankness" only holds for so long and gets filled in with yet more thoughts. Some version of counting sheep does seem to help (i picture giant puffy clouds shaped like the numbers 1, 2, 3 over and over again sometimes, seems to work if i can stay focused on the repeating clouds long enough to shut my brain up) anything to get that brain to stop cooking on various concerns. Sort of "bore yourself to sleep" with the "sheep counting" Warm baths / hot showers and such seem to help. Some sort of white noise is good (fan humming consistantly, snow channel on a TV, or an actual white noise machine) to block out distracting noises. If you have access and/or can afford regular full body massages they fucking rock, get somone that knows what they are doing and its better than Xanax/Vallium. =) In my case its gotten pretty bad , chemicals end up being the final solution sometimes as most of the above takes a lot of pre-planning and sometimes just isnt available at all for one reason or another. Random over the counter gelcaps work fine short term (gelcaps kick in faster than the tablets). Longer term if the racing thoughts don't go away after a few weeks probably should look into some sort of treatment for it racing thoughts / cant sleep. The idea being to treat the cause (bad diet, lack of exercise, anxiety , whatever) rather than the symptom (the insomnia) if its not just a short term thing. But i think a solid couple hours of freight-train intensity , sweaty, massive orgasmic sex to the point of exhaustion with someone your totally into , snuggling up , then relaxing next to them quietly, every single night might a be better solution. Anyhow hope ya get to sleep. It sucks i know.

Hrmm, i tell people to ignore a thread and they post a bunch of cute stuff.... cant say that's the worst outcome i could think of. Maybe if i use a different approach: *starts pushing people out the door City Club style* Yells: "get the F*** out!!" :whistling :laughing

Title changed for the acronymicly challenged. What your good at is following well-reasoned directions even if you disagree with them. Somehow im being lead to believe that the directions in this post are not particularly well reasoned???? LIES. Its been lost for a long time, but now its found and being held for questioning by the authorities. Anyone not read the double "Ignore this ..." at the top of the thread? Yeah its a new holiday called "Ignore It Day" it starts on may 27th but i was starting the festivities early. The proper way to observe the holidays is to IGNORE IT. Which your all failing miserably at. Pfftt

Blatantly Disruptive Posts Blatantly Inciting Anger Racism would fall under both of the above. But we've hesitated to try and form a specific definition about what racism is because its so broadly defined in so many different ways by so many different people. The DGN rules are left a bit "generalized" so that they can be enforced with flexibility. Many of the few people that have been banned over the 5+ years DGN has been around , has been due to continued racist remarks. (rare when anyone would get banned for any single comment, usually is due to them not curbing or cutting out their negative behavior after being asked at least once to stop) Blatant, clear examples of repeated racism, and direct repeated examples of directly insulting other posters are two key reasons for most of the bans in the past.
