  1. I'm originally from Gaylord: a time and place in which I was the only goth around.
  2. Aw, thank you, everybody. And here I thought no one on here knew me anymore. I had a great night at City Club for my birthday party. It was the first time I'd visited in over half a year, and the first time ever that I stayed over at the Leland Hotel afterward (not nearly as bad as I'd thought it'd be.)
  3. I think the reign of Cthulhu would be more like an eternal Gwar concert.
  4. I was there. It was probably the best night out in Detroit that I have ever had.
  5. Why remake a movie when the first one sucked? They think they are going to get it right this time?
  6. I'm going as Morrissey. I even got his haircut for the occasion. SCARY!! Boo!
  7. I lost my violin. I wanted to play it for all those people going without disgusting sugar water, but it was so small that I can't seem to find the damn thing anywhere.
  8. I want to go, although I am having the absolute worst time trying to get out of work for this.
  9. I'm interested in going. I remember going a couple years back for your barbecue and it was all good fun. I'd like to visit again even though I am not very popular with this group.
  10. Sweet. Mine's not too far away and I always go to CC for my birthday whenever I am in the country.
  11. Shouldn't this music only be played on instruments available during the Victorian age? I suppose they could use their electronic variations, but only powered by a small steam engine?
  12. As a person with a huge fetish for women with short hair AND as a man that thinks other men with long hair look like douchebags, AND as a man that wants suffering children to be happy... this is a cause I can totally get behind. DONATE!
  13. I'm grateful that we can get our people out of there to the degree we have. However, we should never have been there to begin with and will be the enduring discussion of that debacle. What a disgraceful legacy for American politicians.
  14. If terrorists are bound and determined to do damage to our country, I don't think "not having a mosque nearby" is going to deter them too much. They could discuss things openly at a Denny's for all it matters, they could build a bomb in a penthouse apartment.
  15. If you believe that muslims have no right to build a mosque because it may offend victims... you must follow the course of your own logic and blow up Mount Rushmore for its insult to Native Americans.
  16. I had a nice time. I felt as if I was one of the only people dancing.
  17. The music of the past that we idolize was once the music of the future that an even more distant past loathed.
  18. Sign me up as cocksucker number one then. I'm probably the archetype of the kind of guy he finds annoying. To be honest though, I've never claimed that contemporary music in this scene isn't REAL industrial music, simply that most of it isn't very good. Industrial music is free to evolve, but I would never say that going from a band for Homo Sapiens (Einsturzende Neubauten) to music for Neanderthals (Combichrist) would be evolution. Certainly there is a difference in technology available, but no matter the state of technology, artists are limited by their imaginations. Most industrial artists to emerge in the last 15 years have very, very limited imaginations. They have all the technology at their disposal, but all seem to follow narrow formulas. I remember attending a show of a local synthpop act with a friend of mine and after thirty minutes he turned to me and asked, "when does their second song start?" It was paint-by-numbers futurepop and the paint had smeared so that you couldn't tell one shade from another. If industrial music is evolution then it is survival of the fittest. And cocksuckers like me are doing the best we can to cull the weak. One thing he did have right is that he gives honor to Suicide. Damn, their first record was amazing. I want to play it right now actually. And yes, writer, I would totally suck Alan Vega's dick.
  19. This is the gothiest goth that ever gothed a goth. Crow was pretty bad, I don't know how you could save it without making it totally different.
  20. I thought that there were a lot of interesting things going on, I just hated how they had to break it all up with all those shoot 'em up scenes every 15 minutes. (The optical illusion halllway/stairwell scene with Joseph GL being the ONLY exception.)
  21. I will still eat plants anyway. As far as the album your topic references: Ever listen to "This Charming Man"? Morrissey doesn't mind dead animals so much as long as their tanned hides run smooth on the passenger seats of charming cars.
  22. Not necessarily. I do love Wolfsheim though. I'll admit that to anyone.
