  1. Watching my "kittens" (the three youngest spiders) eating their crickets.
  2. Keep On Smiling, by Wet Willie Well you say you got the blues, Got holes in both of your shoes, Feelin' alone and confused, You got to keep on smilin', keep on smilin' Yeah, you're about to go insane, Cause your woman's playing games And she says that you're to blame, You got to keep on smilin', keep on smilin' Keep on smilin' through the rain, laughin' at the pain Rollin' with the changes 'til the sun comes out again Keep on smilin' through the rain, laughin' at the pain Rollin' with the changes, singin' this refrain Singin' in a honky tonk cafe, Nobody's hearin' what you play, They're too busy drinkin' anyway, You got to keep on smilin', keep on smilin' Brother keep on smilin' You say you found a peace of land Gonna change from city boy to country man Try to build your life with your hands You got to keep on smilin', keep on smilin' Keep on smilin' through the rain, laughin' at the pain Rollin' with the changes 'til the sun comes out again Keep on smilin' through the rain, laughin' at the pain Rollin' with the changes, singin' this refrain You're just hangin' out in a local bar, And you're wonderin' who the hell you are Are you a bum or are you a star? Keep on smilin' through the rain, laugh all through the pain Roll with the changes 'til the sun comes out again Keep on smilin' Laughin', Rollin'..
  3. Still puttering around doing holiday-related stuff. I just finished putting together one of the cool little 14" trees I bought from the dollar store, and trimming it, along with the mantle (total cost: around $3.00-- not bad). Father Christmas kept falling off the top of the tree, but I think I have him stuck fast, now. I still need some of that glittery cotton batting and a string of lights to do exactly what I want with it-- but so far, I'm satisfied with the results. I have a deep, nostalgic love for gaudy X-mas decorations. If it were up to me, I'd leave both my Yule and Samhain stuff up all year 'round. I'd have a "Nightmare Before Christmas" theme goin' on. Now, I'm waiting on "Bubu" to get back from up north with the REAL tree, and the chainsaw (for cutting firewood)!!
  4. Listening to Sherlock Holmes Theater radio show, and trying to wake up gracefully.
  5. Out of sorts. I need full-spectrum SUNLIGHT!!
  6. Hanging up the last of the decorations I have, and making dinner. Debating whether to crack open this first bottle of Warsteiner Dunkel yet, or not.
  7. Cold..and wishing I had someone to bullshit, eat & drink with. It just doesn't feel right making ready for the coming holidays, without someone to cut up with.
  8. Watching it snow like the dickens. I love snow. Still wishing I had some more split firewood or small lengths of deadfall to burn in the fireplace. Free chicken dinner with all the trimmings, to whoever shows up with a donation of wood for my hearth today! I also have beer, and lots of other good reasons to drop by.. Deciding if I really want to get out from under this chenille throw (securely anchored by two cats, of course) and do housework. It's COLD in here. I'm about to bite the bullet and turn up the thermostat!
  9. Cleaning my kitchen, and getting sleepy.
  10. A Caramel Pretzel Klondike Bar. OMFG, these things are just wrong. The ice cream is dulce de leche, and it's draped in soft caramel, sprinkled all over with small pretzel pieces, and covered in milk chocolate. Needless to say, I have a new addiction.
  11. *cleans up gooey pink gobbets of cherub, feathers, and loose plaster from the floor; picks buckshot out of the wall* Ayup. I think I got 'em.. Better luck next time, you little bastard.
  12. It was inevitable I'd get swept up into the Yuletide spirit. I know I'm rushing things, but I need a little bit of colour in my life to combat the doldrums-- it's time to hang the lights, tinsel, and stockings!!! There's a fire in the fireplace with three little kittens gathered around it; there is holiday music playing, a stuffed chicken in the oven, a refrigerator full of beer, and me sitting here dawdling-- with a box of ornaments and things in my lap, as I type! Anyway, here goes: We Need A Little Christmas (music and lyrics by Jerry Herman) Haul out the holly; Put up the tree before My spirit falls again. Fill up the stockings, I may be rushing things, But deck the halls again now. For we need a little Christmas Right this very minute, Candles in the window, Carols at the spinet. Yes, we need a little Christmas Right this very minute. It hasn't snowed a single flurry, But Santa, dear, we're in a hurry; So climb down the chimney; Turn on the brightest string of lights I've ever seen. Slice up the fruitcake; It's time we hung some tinsel On that evergreen bough. For I've grown a little leaner, Grown a little colder, Grown a little sadder, Grown a little older, And I need a little angel Sitting on my shoulder, Need a little Christmas now. For we need a little music, Need a little laughter, Need a little singing Ringing through the rafter, And we need a little snappy "Happy ever after" Need a little Christmas now. We need a little Christmas now!
  13. Do you still need someone to haul off the deadfall? I could use that firewood for winter!! PM me, Rayne! I'm feeling REALLY blah, cold, hungry, and sleepy-- and in need of a fire in my fireplace to coax me into the holiday spirit required for beginning to decorate my house. It's time to deck the halls, it may cheer me up out of this blue funk! I feel like Googling plans for constructing a biblical-type arc. WHEN WILL THIS GREY, RAINY WEATHER END??????
  14. Old-Time Radio.Network Currently listening to stories from the "Hall Of Fantasy" series.
  15. Pissed off that my Google homepage keeps changing to Google from other countries. WTF?? Yesterday, it was Google UK, and now it's Google Deutchland. Is anyone else having this problem?? How do I get it OFF from GERMAN????? I try typing in the URL of Google USA, and it keeps bringing me back to this fucking page!!!!!
  16. Marc, your liver is going to look like an umeboshi, by the time you return. I'm feeling blah. Just blah. I'm still trying to gauge which way the day is going. So far, it's not good.
  17. Listening to old time radio shows on OTR.Net. I am very, very entertained. I especially love "The Hermit's Cave," "Suspense!" and "Lights Out!"
  18. A steaming, hot bowl of homemade cream of tomato soup-- topped with about 8 good grinds of fresh black pepper, fresh basil chiffonade, and freshly-grated Parmesano Reggiano. Of course, there are hot-out-of-the-oven garlic and cheese crostini on the side. Mmmm. Seems like no one ever shows up to visit anymore, when I cook really good stuff.
  19. Rev, did you get your cat whiskers? I sent some with pRick on Tuesday night.
