Thinking about leaving
Soulrev replied to Soulrev's topic in Relationships, Pets & Domestic Homelife
Well I'm already a felon anyways lol. Yeah. Porter County Indiana made me a convicted felon because I had a heroin addiction. Wonderful huh? -
Here's my situation. I'm really thinking about leaving the country. I have a lot of issues going on right now and I know some people may look down on me for feeling like this. I really think I want to run away. I'm on probation until December if I complete it successfully. I don't know. I'm just thinking about this and wanted to talk to someone about it and maybe get some advice or opinions. If I were to leave the country, where would I go? Where should I go? What should I do? I mean let's face it the long arm of the law stretches really far and I could get in serious trouble if they caught me. Are there any countries I could move to and be safe from the US laws? are there any places where people like me can go live a normal life and never look back? Places that offer protection? I wont' go into detail about why I want to do this. I just ask that you trust me when I say I have very good reasons for wanting to leave and start over. I know it sounds like I'm not being a man and doing what I have to do like a responsible man should do.. I just see it differently. I really don't care about the United States anymore. I am tired of always being told how I should live my life in accordance to some other person's views of how I should live my life. I just want to start all over. I've made a lot of mistakes in my past and what I once wanted in life I can never have again because of the decisions/mistakes I have made. So that being said, I really just want to forget about it all and move on with my life somewhere else. I'm tired of this country. I've never left the US. I want to see the world. I want to do things most people never get to do. I want to really be free, I don't want to be tied down to any one place. I want to be able to travel at my own will and I want to do this now. I know I'm ready for a change. I just want to know if my thinking is completely insane, or if I could really do this. Any help or advice anyone could give me in this matter I would deeply appreciate. I will talk more about details later, for now I could just use some answers to my questions. Like I said, where could I go, what should I do, and where should I start? I dunno. This is just a thought that has been bothering my mind for a long time now and I want to know if I could really get away with this if I were really determined to. Thanks for listening guys. -Brian

My dogs always know when I'm sick and they comfort me. I'll be laying on the couch watching TV and my dogs will come up to me and won't leave my side no matter what. They don't typically give me that kind of attention out of the blue like that.

Why is it ok to put your child up for adoption and then take a "gift" of money from the adopters? But when someone wants to outright sell their child it's a crime / morally wrong? I mean, sure, I guess you could say "Well adoption tries to ensure your child isn't going to just any old person" but c'mon, if someone is willing to pay that much for a kid do you really think they're going to abuse them? I'd trust someone paying 300k for my kid more than someone wanting him/her for free! Lol. Ok, I know I'm being goofy, just thought I'd add more controversy to this topic -
I've heard other bizarre stories like this. I read in the newspaper once that a woman was stabbed in the back with a chef knife and didn't even know it. I can't remember the exact circumstances, but I know she managed to go to the grocery store where someone obviously said "Umm excuse me ma'am, but doesn't that hurt?" hahaha. Could you imagine? Well, truth is stranger than fiction. I think I also saw a similar situation where a man was stabbed in the head with a kitchen knife and checked himself into the ER by himself. It was on RealTV. The X-Ray was unbelievable. Talk about luck.

I figured this would be the correct forum for this? Mods please feel free to move where it belongs.. I was just wondering what peoples' opinions on shrooms are? I like them very much. I only had 1 bad experience with them in which I took them when I was tired and I just wanted it to go away so I could sleep. However, every other time I've taken them I've had a good time. They really open up my mind in a way I can't describe. I also had a question about them. I've done some research and found that most drug testing doesn't test for shrooms but I understand there IS a urinalysis test that can detect them. I also understand that it doesn't stay in your system long (2 or 3 days) but was just wondering if anyone here might know more info on that. I've checked this info on Erowid so I already know about that source. The reason I was wondering is because I'm on probation and I get drug tested every 2 weeks. Erowid claims most probations don't even bother testing for it because it costs too much and they only do it if they have reason to believe you've been doing them (say, you got put on probation for shrooms). I also have to take drug classes outside of probation where they drug test. I figure those people are more likely to test for them than probation. But again I was just wondering if anyone knows for sure the time it stays in your system because I'm thinking about taking some since I can almost never find them and someone has some to give to me. I'm just concerned about my drug tests. Any advice would be appreciated. -B

Flu
Soulrev replied to Homicidalheathen's topic in Current Events, Science, Spirituality, Politics, Religion & Sociology
Yes, I'd like one extra large order of deadly virus, to go, please. I'm in a hurry. I think it's great. We need some population control. Nothing like a good plague! "I met a little bird. Her name was Enza. I opened up the window, and in flew Enza!" See? I mean look at what great childhood nursery rhymes come from epidemics. Now before I offend too many people, let me get on a more serious note. Like a C Minor. No... Really.. I'm fascinated by viruses and plagues. I've read so many books on them. Personally I think the reason why we're seeing all of these fucked up mutations of viruses is because of the vaccine. I refuse to get a flu vaccine. Never have, never will. Certain things like Polio and such are a must, obviously. But for the flu? No thanks. I'll keep my immune system strong by fighting it naturally with a little help from my buddies Vitamin C and good old fashioned water. Maybe, just maybe, if I feel like I might die, then, I might go get some antibiotics. But nobody sticks some half dead virus in my body! Viruses are like any other living creature. Over time they will adapt. And we fight them so hard that they are fighting back twice as hard, and now we end up with fucked up pigbirddoggieflu viruses and wonder why. I reckin' that's all I have to say about that. Mmmm hmmmm. -
Yeah I know a few DGNers sent me letters in BCT. HomicidalHeathen was one of them. I know I REALLY appreciated it.

Star Trek DGN Invasion?
Soulrev replied to Virus-x's topic in Movies, Books, Art, TV, Gaming and Computers
LMAO nice dude. No I have said it before and I will say it again. My wife is the coolest girl I know. She likes video games (and kicks my ass in most of 'em like Call of Duty) and she likes the same music and same books and while she's not a FAN of Star Trek she will tolerate it, for me I love her so much. -
Right on man. Well the fact that they twisted the storyline around a bit is O.K. I guess for the sake of the movie. That trailer really turned me on, though. I think it will be a good movie regardless. Let us hope we don't get let down. I have to say the whole series kind of took a turn for the worse when Gene Roddenberry died, but I think they still did a pretty good job of keeping the spirit alive. In order, my fav. Star Treks are - TNG, Original, and DS9. ST Enterprise gets 20 thumbs down in my opinion. Every time I saw that show I was just waiting for Scott Bakula to leap to the next life. LOL.

Yes but isn't this more like a prequel than a remake?

Star Trek DGN Invasion?
Soulrev replied to Virus-x's topic in Movies, Books, Art, TV, Gaming and Computers
If we have a group outing to see this movie I'm definitely there. And I will drag my wife kicking and screaming all the way there. She's a Star Wars fan. Doesn't like Star Trek. It's ok. We can't all be perfect. -
Oh, I know. And you're right, it might not make it. However, Game Informer magazine thinks otherwise. I found out about it in an article in that mag. Claims to have a lot of big name game developers signed-on with the idea. Would be cool if it did make it, though.

The Dgn Country(ish) Music Appreciation Thread...
Soulrev replied to Msterbeau's topic in Music Discussion
David I have you to thank for introducing me to 16 Horsepower. That is by far some of my favorite music out there. Too bad they broke up.
