  1. Oh and the little black kitten is her evil offspring, Fat Blackie. Unfortunately, he is now deceased. RIP Blackie, we miss you :*(
  2. George A. Romero's . . . Night of the Living Thorbot Hehe.. The gray one on the right is my cat, Thor. A Female. Yes her name really is Thor. She is half miniature siamese and vicious as hell. Thus the name Thor. We call her Thorbot, too, after this picture was taken. I call this photo "Thorbot, powering up!"
  3. Yeah, I heard that after book 5, books 6,7,8 and 9 are a little bit slower, I heard that Terry Goodkind made those 3 or 4 books as sort of a recap to the first 5, so readers could start reading the series around book 6 and not be lost as to what happened in the first 5 books. Then the last few books pick back up and are just as good as the first few. Like I said, I am on book 3, so I don't know much about the entire series, but I'll get to it When I finished book 2, I ran out and bought books 3-12, so I could continue reading without delay
  4. Yeah Spybot Search & Destroy took care of it. It's adware this one in particular is called "Browse to Save", even said it when you mouse over the links.
  5. Well, I'm running Spybot Search & Destroy, and going to bed. Have a good night all. I'll let ya know what I find and if I fix the problem, in case anyone else might have this problem in the future. It's been affecting my PC performance, too. Since I noticed these little ads spawning everywhere, this PC has been laggy as hell. Sometimes, so laggy, that even the mouse jumps across the screen at times, making it rather frustrating to do anything. G'night. -B
  6. Yeah I just did some searching around and found out it's a common issue with a lot of people recently. It's called Text Enhance adware. Norton 360 doesn't detect it. A lot of the times it can be found in "Programs and Features" list in Windows Vista. I haven't found it yet. I am going to run some anti spyware/malware and see if that solves the issue. Apparently it doesn't matter what browser you are using, but from what I've seen it looks like people using Chrome are getting this problem more often than others. I use Firefox, personally. Here, let me take a screenshot and show you what I mean, for those of you who may have the same problem, but this is what I'm seeing. -
  7. Hmm, no I think it's just me, actually. I just thought about it, and checked a website that I made myself.. It's doing it on my website, as well.. Odd, Norton 360 hasn't detected anything related to this on my PC. Any ideas how to get rid of this annoying crap?
  8. HA! See? ^^^^^^^ it took "for tires" and made it into a link! I think it does this randomly, so a couple hours from now when I check this post again, it might change to a different word and make a different random link.
  9. I've noticed, lately, that there seem to be a lot of random word links on DGN. I was wondering if it's just me or if anyone else sees them, as well? I'm talking about how random words on the forums get turned into a link, and when you mouse-over it, an ad somewhat relevant to the word pops up. I find it quite annoying, sometimes being led to believe that the link is actually something useful, only to be let down by some stupid advertisement for tires. If this is some sort of ad system that's saving DGN money, then I won't complain. Just wondering if it's something with the site, or some sort of adware on my PC.
  10. So, I was in Barnes And Noble a month or two ago, and this series of books caught my eye. I picked up the first book of the series, went off to a corner and started reading it for a few minutes. After about 10 minutes and 25 pages into it, I decided I had to buy this book. The first one is called "Wizard's First Rule" . . . This series is a set of 12 books, each between 700-1,000 pages each. It's definitely an "epic" series. I am about halfway through book 3, and so far, these books are the best I have ever read. That's saying a lot, if you knew how many books I've read in my time... Basically, the main character, Richard, who is a woods guide in the small town of Hartland, comes to find out he's more than just a simple woods guide. His best friend since he was a small boy, an older man by the name of Zedd, reveals to Richard that he is special. After the brutal murder of Richard's father, Zedd names Richard "The Seeker of Truth" and gives Richard a magical sword, called The Sword of Truth. Come to find out, Zedd is actually a very powerful wizard, who had been hiding in the Westland area of the world, where Richard lives. Now, there is no magic in Westland. It is separated from the rest of the world by a great, powerful boundary that nobody is able to cross. All of the magic, wizards, sorceresses, etc. are located to the east of Westland. However, Zedd, who had been in Westland since Richard was born, had magic, but never revealed his secret to anyone, until now. There is an evil wizard far off to the east, by the name of Darken Rahl, who is trying to take over the world. Richard learns that, as the Seeker of Truth, he is to stop this evil wizard. I could go on, and on, telling more of these books, but I don't want to spoil it for any of you, if you choose to take them up for a bit of "light reading" heh heh heh... But, I will quote the book descriptions from the back of the books. Ok, here goes. Book One, "Wizard's First Rule" - "A legend begins. In the aftermath of the brutal murder of his father, Richard Cypher encounters a mysterious woman, Kahlan Amnell, in his forest sanctuary. She seeks his help . . . and more. His world, his very beliefs, are shattered when ancient debts come due with thundering violence. In their darkest hour, Kahlan calls upon Richard to reach beyond his sword - to invoke within himself something more noble. Neither knows that the rules of battle have just changed . . . or that their time has run out. This is the beginning. One book. One Rule. Witness the birth of a legend." Book Two, "Stone Of Tears" - "The veil of the underworld has been torn. And Darken Rahl, from beyond the veil, has begun to summon a sinister power worse than any he has wielded before. Armed with the Sword of Truth, Richard Cypher, now become Richard Rahl, must learn to control his own new-found power, or the world will spin into darkness unending. The Sisters of Light promise help. While Richard journeys to their forbidden city, his beloved Kahlan sets out for Ayindril, citadel of the old wizards, in search of Zedd and the help only he can lend. War, suffering, torture, and deceit lie in their paths. So, also, does their destiny. . . " Book Three, "Blood Of The Fold" - "Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell stand against the forces which besiege the New World - forces so terrible that when they last threatened, the wizards of long-ago sealed off the Old World from the New. Now that barrier has been breached. The fanatical Blood of the Fold, sworn enemies of magic, roam the New World, unwitting pawns of the sorcerous evil at the heart of the Old. To save their world, Richard and Kahlan must become one with the power of their love - and their Truth." Praise for Terry Goodkind, a New York Times #1 Bestseller - "Mr. Goodkind's compelling prose weaves a magical spell over readers" - Romantic Times BOOKreviews "Outstanding . . . Characters who actually behave like adults. Highly recommended." - The San Diego Union-Tribune "Few writers have Goodkind's power of creation . . . a phenomenal piece of imaginative writing, exhaustive in it's scope and riveting in it's detail." - Publishing News So, I highly recommend these books to anyone looking for a good story. Also, there was a TV show loosely based off of these books, called "Legend of the Seeker". Remember, loosely based. The show is nowhere near as good as the books, obviously, but still not bad to watch. You can watch all 48 episodes for free, on Hulu, at http://www.hulu.com/watch/48323#i0,p0,d0
  11. I hope to procure enough federal reserve notes to watch this fine film before it leaves theaters. I had hoped to view it on opening day, alas, diapers and sustenance for my child deemed to be a more important expense to my pocketbook. Ahh, well as long as I get to see it before it leaves theaters. I would like to see this one in 3D, having never attended a 3D full feature film, yet. I consider myself a close follower of the Trek. I rather enjoyed the first movie, so I have high expectations for this sequel.
  12. I'm told I look pissed off all the time. I don't mean to, even when I'm happy I get told this. I wonder how accurate this software is?
  13. Haha omg this post is ancient! I've been back there, since then. It's actually not so bad as I once thought. Now that I'm older, slightly wiser, I went back to Laramie, Wyoming last year to finish my education I started. I really enjoyed my stay there. It's not as bad as it was, either. The cops are not as strict as they once were, and I find as I get older the less I can tolerate heavily populated areas. I am starting to enjoy wide open spaces and mountains. In fact, I long for them. I can't see myself living in a big city anymore.
  14. I thought I posted about this before but I'll say it again - I think this technology is absolutely amazing. Once again, another Star Trek technology once thought science fiction, is now science fact. Just think, if we could actually perfect "replicators" then perhaps someday we could eliminate poverty, hunger, etc.
  15. http://www.infowars.com/contractors-at-boston-marathon-stood-near-bomb-left-before-detonation/ http://www.infowars.com/did-alleged-boston-bombing-terrorist-post-al-qaeda-video-on-his-youtube/ http://www.infowars.com/aunt-of-bombing-suspects-says-show-us-the-evidence-im-suspicious-that-this-was-staged/ Anyone else think that all of these recent events are just so convenient? Fuel for the anti-gun movement? It's funny how when our government sets out an agenda, that there's always some tragic event that follows shortly; and then they say, "See!? See!? We told you so! Now just let us pass these bills and take your guns and rights and freedom, and you will be safe! We promise!" ... .. .. Just don't forget your critical thinking skills. Open your eyes and your mind to what's really going on.
  16. Hey! I'm doin alright, been busy lately being a single father and all. Haven't had much time to do anything! I still pop in here every now and then, though. Thanks for noticing I hope to come out to CC one of these Saturdays, if I ever get the chance. I miss you guys.
  17. I showed this video to a few of my friends, thought it was hilarious. I noticed this must have happened somewhere in Indiana or Illinois, first, because it's a white castle, second, because of the IPass on the windshield, those are for Illinois and Indiana toll roads. Kinda funny to see this was filmed close to home, or should I say, my former home. Lol.
  18. I'm currently playing Guild Wars 2. Probably the best MMORPG I have ever played, and I have played just about all of them. If anyone else plays, I am on the Tarnished Coast server, the ''unofficial roleplaying server''.. My main character's name is Deadstill Starsburn, lvl 80 Necromancer fully geared in Exotic armor/weapons. It's a lot of fun. If anyone has considered getting it, but hasn't, I suggest you get it. You can't beat the fact that there is no monthly subscription fee, too, as there is with just about all of the other major MMO's out there.
  19. It sucks that Hostess is going out of business but I wouldn't worry too much about twinkies and ding dongs disappearing anytime soon. If anything I foresee maybe a month or two without them at most. But I'm sure someone will buy them out and start marketing them again under a different brand. Probably Dolly Madison Bakery. By the way has anyone else noticed that both Hostess and Dolly Madison Bakery have been selling zingers for some time now? They both make chocolate, raspberry, or banana flavored zingers. I have tried both in side by side comparisons and I can't tell any difference between the two. So with that being said, I'm sure everything will be alright.
  20. Yeah I will agree sometimes he goes off on a wild tangent.. But out of all news sources out there, he's one of the only ones reporting the truth. As far as y2k goes yeah he was wrong about some of that stuff, but there was a lot that was being covered up by the mainstream media as well. Another thing is critical thinking. Most people these days don't even know what that means. However I'd say about 90% of what Alex Jones reports is true, and they all (journalists) tend to put some sort of spin on news topics, but what I find most admirable about Alex Jones, is that almost everything he reports, he also tells you where he got his information, and not to just take his word for it, but to go read about it yourself and make your own judgement. That right there goes way beyond any news reporting the mainstream media will provide. I'm not saying to take every word he says as gospel, but like I said, compared to all the other sources for news these days, he's definitely one of the best as far as reporting truth, and hitting on topics nobody else will because they are either being told not to, or they are too afraid to.
  21. A lot of you probably don't know who Alex Jones is. He is a journalist that I have been following for a couple of years now. A lot of the mainstream media (specifically CNN, ABC, etc) write him off as a "conspiracy theorist", but I have been following him now for long enough to know that's not true. His newscasts are dead on, he's reporting more truth than you can find from any one particular news source. I ask each of you to at least give him a chance, check out his daily news show online or on the radio. He's more well known for the amazing documentary he made called "The Obama Deception". There are a lot of big things happening in our country these days. Unbelievable tyranny. You may have the feeling that things just aren't right in our Country these days, and if you're willing to delve deep enough, follow Alex Jones and all the hard work he has put in to lifting the curtain on New World Order, Globalist elite scumbags who are trying to destroy our country and eradicate our Constitution. The thing I like most about Alex Jones is - he doesn't just report news. He'll outright tell you where he gets his information from and 9 times out of 10 he will give you the means to look up what he reports for yourself. If he reports something he will tell you "Don't take my word for it, go to (random government website (for example)) and read about it yourself". A lot of people will have a hard time accepting the truth about what is happening in our country and the world, but I promise you if you dig deep enough, and care enough to spend a little time researching, you will see. Our nation is on the verge of some very tough times. This economy is only going to get worse, much worse, before it gets better. Take the time to check out Alex Jones, his websites www.infowars.com and www.prisonplanet.tv. Tell your friends and your family, it is time for American citizens to wake up. Spread the word, and help stop tyranny.
  22. I may be there. How has general attendance been at CC lately? I haven't been out there in about a year, but last few times I went it seemed empty. And the music was meh.
  23. If they actually do that - I think I'm going to go Hannibal Lecter and start eating people for nutritional sustenance. Starting with pharmacists. And Hippies.
