  1. Did someone say VNV Nation is playing Movement?!? *gets the sword ready* In all seriousness, I plan on going, for Plastikman, Liebing, and Wink. And if this rumour Marc has heard comes true.
  2. Awesome, good to hear there will still be some great music after all even though Obscenity Trial can't make it. Check out these acts on the web: http://www.myspace.com/dkonstruct2009 http://www.myspace.com/bmm
  3. Info for the tour can be found at http://www.lowlandstour.com
  4. That's understandable, regardless of an opening band or not, it's cool that Necto is able to pull off a last minute VNV show here. If there was a local opener though, I would throw in a vote for d:konstruct
  5. Is S.I.T.D. going to be opening this one, or is it just VNV all night? I know they are with them most of this tour.
  6. What's funny is that this is 2010, and minus the Lady Gaga, this thread could have been posted 10 years ago and been relevant. No matter how much things change over the years, dead stars still burn
  7. This song is awesome, first heard it on the commercial for the new video game 'Bayonetta'. Been listening to it nonstop. Another recent favorite, the Shiny's cover of Major Tom.
  8. What?? Daniel Myer as a member? That's why he was singing Covenant songs last time he was here ROFL! Wow, at first I thought that was a joke but it is official. Crazy

Saturday, May 1, 2010 Assemblage 23 w/sg: Angel Theory 8 PM Doors All Ages Tickets: $12 advance through http://www.smallsbardetroit.com $15 at the door Assemblage 23 ASSEMBLAGE 23 and Tom Shear – there's no need to introduce the man behind this figurehead of electronic music. For almost ten years, he has provided the scene with a string of hits. On tour in support of the new CD "Compass" an album demands a closer look. It is not just his sixth studio album – "Compass" is a lot more than that. This album is the uncompromising presentation of Tom Shear's biggest strength, the composition of dreamingly beautiful ballads, relentlessly catchy tunes and club hits. He is a real master of his trade, and on this newest work, he has achieved the feat of sticking to the sound all ASSEMBLAGE 23 fans love and hope for, while still creating a powerful and exiting new vibe. Listening to this album and discovering "Compass" in its whole glory is pure fun; it fascinates and electrifies. All this combined makes sure that "Compass" is not just a treat for Shear's big fan base but will also excite all those who have not yet discovered the fascination of ASSEMBLAGE 23. The single "Spark" has already proven a strong and promising harbinger – but who would have thought that Tom Shear might surpass this benchmark in such a glorious way. For all those who love straightforward but also sophisticated and substantial electronic music, this album is not to be missed, while the live show will certainly not dissapoint. The bands sounds is bereft of electro-cliches, with the mechanical loops confronting emotional vocals, transporting the listener to a new world full of dance grooves and melancholy atmospheres. Angel Theory's innovative sound will appeal to the wider community of electro fans - from Haujobb to Covenant with influences extending to Nine Inch Nails, Gridlock and VNV Nation. 12. Nice one! One of my favorite electro songs of all time. Here's another good one, though not the best quality recording. Will be on their upcoming collection album released soon.
  13. Manufactura - Deep Water (ophelia's descent mix) (feat. I:Scintilla on vox and additional sampling by Destroid)
  14. I believe I went that night, got there around midnite, and there was like 3 people in there. The night is done, as far as I know. The myspace they had is now deleted. Too bad, it's a great venue. There was really no promotion on their part outside of the myspace that I saw, except for myself posting here and there. Back on topic tho, hoping to make it out to this last Works-Deadline. Hope it pops up somewhere else soon.
  15. Just a reminder, show is tonight! Everyone get down to Small's and get your former-KMFDM on.
  16. I'll be there early. Free stuff from Tympanik and Crunch Pod and Karloz DJ set, a great night noise fans will not want to miss!
  17. Oh hell yea! Drill is awesome, that CD was in heavy rotation back in '96. Now she sings for KMFDM, but there was a Drill reunion back in '08 with a new album. Newest video here from deadmau5, and my current favorite song
  18. Maybe if it gets a good turnout they will do more old school night in the future?
  19. Old school industrial, no cover, and free CD's? Does life get any better? I submit that it cannot! Looking forward to tonight, I haven't been to the club since Feb.
  20. Saturday, October 3, 2009 Slick Idiot Featuring En Esch (formerly KMFDM) w/sg Haf Life + The Replicas $10 adv (plus $1 service charge) Purchase tickets via PayPal through Small's website http://www.smallsbardetroit.com/ $12 door ALL AGES Doors at 8p.m. Slick Idiot Coming to rescue Industrial music fans stranded in a land of complacency are EN ESCH and GUENTER SCHULZ, together as SLICK IDIOT! Formerly core members and co-founders of KMFDM, ESCH and SCHULZ left the groundbreaking industrial powerhouse in 2000 forming their own project, SLICK IDIOT. The duo released their first album, Dicknity, in 2001: currently available on Itchy Records and distributed by Cleopatra. A supporting tour followed in the Spring/Summer of 2002. After releasing ReDickulous, an innovative remix CD comprised of songs from Dicknity remixed by friends and fans of the band and distributed through Underground, Inc., ESCH and SCHULZ returned to the studio and created SCREWTINIZED. The fresh new music that resulted retains their distinctive sound with unexpected twists and is sure to resonate with their broad fan base. The logical follow up to their last full lengh album was another remix CD which saw the light of day in late 2006 called xSCREWciating containing a new song called “Hot Stuff” which became a big club smasher. Legends in the Industrial music world, EN ESCH and GUENTER SCHULZ came together in their native Germany in the 1980's and have worked together ever since. EN ESCH: Born near Frankfurt / Main, ESCH has lived and worked in Hamburg, Chicago, New Orleans, Los Angeles and currently NYC. The classically trained percussionist is best known for his distinctive vocals and charismatic and intense stage performances. He is a skilled multi-instrumentalist, programmer and composer. His collaborations are varied and he has enjoyed success with the diverse ensemble PIGFACE since the early 90's. GUENTER SCHULZ: Born near Bremen, SCHULZ has lived and worked in Hamburg, Chicago and since 1994 in British Columbia, Canada. Guitarist, composer, programmer and keyboardist, GUENTER SCHULZ is widely recognized and respected as one of the most talented guitarists in the Industrial scene. He is also an Internationally known and accomplished photographer and has been published worldwide. After several successful years in the Techno-Industrial scene and countless live performances around the world, the striking front man and talented guitarist who once formed the basis of KMFDM now enjoy a cult-hero status in EN ESCH's larger-than-life and commanding persona and SCHULZ's untouchable guitar work. The two together have combined to form a most unique and productive partnership giving their fans what they want: something new and fresh and even experimental, without ever losing the immediately recognizable and much loved sound that they created and made famous. http://www.slickidiot.com/ http://www.myspace.com/slickidiot Haf-Life HAFLIFE came to be, fusing several musical styles (industrial, funk, rock and horror) to create a new genre called 'BOOTYCORE". Striving for maximum audience participation and energy level allowed by law (and sometimes beyond). They don't just play music, they entertain. HAFLIFE formed in 2000 from the remaining members of Mental Landscape. After releasing their first full length CD in 2004 as Haflife, they won Best Industrial Band at the Detroit Music Awards and have been nominated every year since. In addition to the Mental Landscape alum, HAFLIFE has added a live drummer, V (formerly of Passion Nouveau, Skin Horse and Toxic Beat Syndrome) and bass guru, Dean Western to lay down some tasty, dirty grooves. Haflife has been featured in local television commercials for Noir Leather, in the independent film "Hatred of a Minute" produced by Bruce Campbell, and has also been heavily featured in the Det-Chi extreme sports DVDs released over the past several years. http://www.myspace.com/haflife Bookmark http://www.darqueproductions.com for info on this and more upcoming shows!
