Shrine Of Our Lost Pets

I came home from Detroit this morning and found my Fatboy Lynx dead in the backyard. I only saw him because Chango was guarding his body and wouldn't come when I called him. Something had mauled him... dog, racoon, I don't know. I sat there on the ground and wailed and sobbed like a little bitch. I feel so bad that I wasn't there to help him when he needed me. I will miss my big fat scaredy cat and I'm worried about Chango, too... they were littermates, born in 2001, and had never been separated for more than a day. Have a joyful trip across the Rainbow Bridge, my Fatboy! Lynx with Tokagemaru, summer 2007. He loved being groomed since he was too fat and lazy to properly groom himself. Lynx with Chango, Nov. '09 Tomoe, Lynx, and Tomoe's kitten. This is why Lynx was so big... Tomoe had a litter around the time Kitsune weaned Lynx & Chango's litter. Lynx decided he wasn't ready to be weaned yet... although he was fine with eating solid food, too! And yes, he started out siamese-colored and started acquiring the tabby markings around a year old. He had beautiful siamese blue eyes which I could never photograph properly. Wish I'd tried harder now. -

Wait, this was supposed to be about Sabah but for some reason I started talking about Zu-i again. I still miss Zu-i. I think about her whenever I cook shrimp... she didn't like table food as a rule, but loved shrimp and would go crazy as soon as I took it out of the fridge. The first time I made shrimp after she disappeared, I looked at it and started bawling like a little bitch. RIP Zu-i, feast on shrimp in the Rainbow Fields! OK, on to Sabah. First Hubby Billy & I got her as a tiny kitten along with her brother Max, in San Francisco around 1987. My late dear friend Kenny got them for us and brought them to our apartment in his coat pockets. Sabah was a beautiful kitty, in winter she would grow a big silver ruff like some kind of tiny mutant lion. She would drag big chunks of discarded meat trimmings from someone's garbage and bring them home. Sabah lived a long happy life although she wasn't with me for most of it. She ended up at my friend Vicki's place in Lainsgburg when Billy and Vicki got married. She was an awesome kitty and is much missed. -

Seeing a converted firehouse for sale near me and pondering who I know that might want to buy it. -
People who won't answer the door even though you can see them peeping through the curtains... or worse, lounging on the couch right in front of the window.

I'm not a huge fan either... but those are beautiful. Love the nightie and the evening gown, too. -
Well, I am excited too... lush curves, creamy skin, gorgeous lingerie... what's NOT to like? These are just damn near perfect! (you don't want to say they're totally perfect 'cos the gods will be jealous)

It looks real to me, and looks like he has an autism spectrum disorder. Pretty typical meltdown for kids with autism or asperger... and interfering with anything that's become routine to them is almost guaranteed to produce a meltdown. -
Always think I should go to Mac's and never do... might have to make this one though. Was never that into them but will be hella interesting to see who comes out of the woodwork!

Sorry... iz skeered of water! Otherwise I would prolly be a marine biologist or something groovy like that.

OK... if you're into Lynch, Gozu will definitely be your cup of matcha! I am curious... not criticizing or judging in any way, but inquiring minds want to know: how can you hate a language? Why? I can understand thinking a language sounds inasthetic... for example, Russian sounds like the speaker is throwing up gravel soup... but I couldn't really say I "hate" it.

I wanna go... have never been to any con and it's definitely on my to-experience list. But that's a hellacious busy weekend for me... maybe I could hit it Sunday on my way back home... hmmm... anyone planning to go Sunday?

Samurai Champloo is definitely not "mindfuck" but it is fucking brilliant! Probably my all time favorite anime. I will not sully this forum with my opinions on Shin Chan. If you hate Asian cinema, you won't like Gozu. It's that classic Japanese gratuitously-bizarre-surrealism from beginning to end. Good luck trying to figure out WTF is going on at any given moment.

I have eaten co-workers' food out of the fridge at various jobs. 20 years ago, I abandoned a litter of kittens on someone's front lawn. I have this huge hangup about calling people on the phone just to chat. If they call me it's fine, but I'm always sure that if I call I'll be interrupting something way more interesting than talking to me. So I don't call people who would probably in fact really like to hear from me. I have never been to a strip club!

Count peoples at the "regular apartment building which is actually being used as transitional housing" place. And be pissed off because whoever is running this place is breaking laws... presenting it as something it's not without proper licensing. I would LOVE to know what they're telling their referring agencies. Some of the poor godslost residents definitely need to be in placements with 24/7 on-site supervision. It just sucks so bad that I can't legally rat out whatever assclown owns this property.

Have never watched Serial Experiments Lain or Paranoia Agent... well, I saw one episode of the latter but didn't watch more 'cos I wanted to see it from the beginning, and still haven't got around to it. Anyway, FLCL has to be watched, re-watched, and meditated upon. If you don't have the patience to do this... if it doesn't catch you on the first viewing so you WANT to do this... most of it will be lost on you. Personally, I love it. And the soundtrack is awesome... it's my "get your lazy ass moving" music of choice. I usually hate "coming of age" stories, but FLCL transcends the genre in a variety of amazing ways.

That Goofy Un-Cousin Marcia doesn't know it yet, but she will be buying me groceries with her bridge card. This will happen because I just spent $118 having one of her baby socks removed from the pump in the washing machine. Oh, and I'm also not real happy about the $35 to find out that the dryer isn't worth repairing. That has nothing to do with GUCM, but I am likely to take it out on her anyway. Yes, that would be very un-Buddhist of me... but it will prolly happen nevertheless.

What's the last movie you saw?

Watched Memoirs of a Geisha and Walk Hard with a friend the other night. Really enjoyed both! I had hesitated to watch Memoirs, 'cos I loved the book and was afraid the film wouldn't live up to it. But they did a really good job... of course they "movied up" certain parts but in understandable ways that stayed fairly true to the story. I thought the way it was shot was awesome... there were maybe 6 long shots in the whole thing. Even the outdoor scenes were in enclosed spaces, between walls, etc. It really highlighted the closed-in world these women lived in. And of course the clothes were all utterly gorgeous... now I want new kimono. Walk Hard was pretty damn funny, but not overdone which is rare for that kind of comedy nowadays. You need to have seen a fair number of music biopics to really get it, in particular Ray, The Buddy Holly Story, and the Johnny Cash one. "I'm cut in half real bad, Dewey!" -
*hugs to Beanie* WTF has Goofy Un-Cousin Marcia done to my washing machine?!?! I SERIOUSLY don't need this right now.

That "unprecedented" in this quote: "Mr Hayward said the 'unprecedented' use of a chemical dispersant to treat the oil has helped prevent some from reaching the surface." ...sounds a lot like "we've never used it before because we're not entirely sure what it might do". Gods help us all.
