OK now, I have met 3 people who claim to be ACTUAL ninjas. Is there a revival of this movement or something? Ninja certification school? I hear there is a form of jujitsu (don't know if I spelled that right) that is combined with something else that is the closest you will get to the real ninja training. My argument is this: You can't be an actual ninja. You can say you are...you can pretend you are...but you can't BE ONE. That time has passed, they are all long since dead...and you’re not an actual ninja. It’s like saying I am part of Attila the Huns army. You can't be! They are all dead! Ninja's were assassins...how many people have you killed?? (please, if you have, don't answer that honestly....) And...do you have invisible powers? I thought someone on here might know If someone is to say to me I am a actual ninja what are the qualifications....and where do you train....for how many hours a day? Thanks.

Lets not forget ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) - The skeletal remains found buried on Albuquerque’s West Mesa over the last two weeks appear to be the work of a serial killer, according to a university professor who has studied that class of criminal for years. Albuquerque police found the remains of four more people on Saturday and Monday, bringing the total number of potential victims to 10. One of the dead includes an unborn child. “This has all the trappings of a serial murder case,” Dr. Dirk Gibson of the University of New Mexico told KRQE News 13. Gibson has studied more than 1,000 serial killers and written three books on the subject. “We don’t know the cause of death yet, but we would assume it’s not accidental,” Gibson said. Albuquerque police said it is possible the buried people were murdered but has insisted it’s too early to tell. “A big part of it will be determined by the Office of the Medical Investigator to determine if these are homicides and if they can tell how these people may have died,” Commander Paul Feist of the Albuquerque Police Department Crime Lab said Monday. The one person identified from the remains by investigators is Victoria Chavez who was 32. Police identified her as a prostitute who was last seen in 2003. “The fact (Chavez) was a prostitute doesn’t mean she was killed for that reason,” Gibson said. “There could have been an angry boyfriend. "There could have been other reasons, but usually prostitute-related killings are because they are victims of opportunity.” Police have acknowledged the buried remains could be on a list of 24 missing women from Albuquerque, many of whom are identified as prostitutes. Whoever killed them made it clear the killings were supposed to be secret, according to Gibson. “Their purpose was to keep something concealed and clandestine and out of the public eye,” Gibson said. (Gibson also discussed his work and theories during a live interview Monday on KRQE News 13 at 4 p.m. To watch the interview, click here .) (just a couple of todays serial killers)

http://www.jsonline.com/news/crime/45401237.html DNA links 7th woman to suspected serial killer By Sharif Durhams and John Diedrich of the Journal Sentinel Posted: May. 19, 2009 Click to view details on the victims and their deaths Search for a Serial Killer Milwaukee police are searching for a serial killer, believed to be involved with the deaths of a string of prostitutes dating to 1986. The Journal Sentinel will follow the case and leads as they develop. The DNA of a suspected serial killer was linked Tuesday to a seventh woman murdered in Milwaukee, as part of a major investigation into unsolved homicides stretching back 23 years. The State Crime Laboratory reported that the suspect's DNA has now been found on Florence McCormick, a 28-year-old prostitute strangled on April 24, 1995, police said. The other homicides occurred in 1986, 1995, 1997 and 2007 - all but one on the north side of Milwaukee. The unknown male suspect may be linked to more murders. Testing continues on DNA from about two dozen other unsolved prostitute homicides. Investigators at Milwaukee police headquarters on Tuesday fielded dozens of tips to a hotline established for the case, (414) 935-1212. Homicide detectives were examining every aspect of the seven homicides, looking for links and reconstructing the victims' final days. Other investigators were poring over prostitution arrests, under the theory that the suspect may have frequented prostitutes but didn't always kill them. "It is going to be a pretty broad, sweeping investigation," Milwaukee Deputy District Attorney Kent Lovern said. So far, all the investigators know is that their suspect is male, said Assistant District Attorney Norman Gahn, a prosecutor in the case and a pioneer in charging John Does based on their DNA profiles. Further testing on the seven samples may show the suspect's ethnicity and race, but not his age, Gahn said. All but one of the victims were African-American women working as prostitutes. The seventh victim was a white teenage runaway. Investigators have said they think the suspect had sex with that victim but another person killed her. The tests show the same person had contact with seven women who were murdered, Gahn said, but that does not guarantee a conviction or even enough to charge the suspect - assuming he is found. "Until the person is identified, I don't think we can make any conclusions about the strength of the case," Gahn said. "It goes behind a person of interest. That person has some explaining to do." Investigators have run the DNA profile found on the murdered women against DNA databases nationally with no hits. That means the suspect is not in prison and has not provided law enforcement with a genetic sample in any state, he said. Wisconsin has required all felons to provide DNA since 1996. The case surfaced after the Milwaukee police's cold homicide unit began resubmitting DNA samples from unsolved homicides to the State Crime Laboratory, Gahn said. Using new testing techniques, the lab reported last year the same man's DNA was on three murdered women: Joyce Mims and Ouithreaun Stokes, prostitutes strangled in 1997 and 2007, and Jessica Payne, the teenage runaway whose throat was slashed in 1995. Chaunte D. Ott was convicted in 1996 of killing Payne and sentenced to life in prison. Then in 2007, testing showed that DNA from semen found on Payne's body matched DNA found on two other murder victims. Prosecutors provided that information to Ott's defense team, and an appeals court overturned his conviction. The 35-year-old had served 13 years of a life term when he was freed this year. Charges against Ott should be dropped based on DNA evidence linking the homicides, said John Pray, co-director of the Wisconsin Innocence Project and one of the attorneys who won Ott's release. "In my view, they would never be able to convict him in a trial," Pray said. Police officials have said they still believe Ott killed Payne. Detectives are re-investigating the case. Assistant District Attorney Mark Williams said he would decide in coming weeks about whether to retry Ott, who was convicted based on a co-conspirator's statements and other evidence but no DNA. This is the second time a task force has been convened to investigate serial killings of prostitutes in Milwaukee. In the late 1990s, investigators examined the homicides of at least 11 prostitutes strangled on the north side. DNA testing done then was not as refined as it is today and didn't make any matches among the evidence collected from the victims, Gahn said. Nonetheless, investigators zeroed in on George L. Jones, known on the street as "the Mule." He was suspected in other homicides but was charged and convicted in the death of only one prostitute, Shameika Carter. He has not been linked to any others in the recent testing, Williams said. Gahn said DNA testing has advanced tremendously since 1989 when he prosecuted his first case with genetic material, another serial killer, Robert Wirth, who was convicted of killing elderly women. Tests now match 13 genetic indicators off DNA, making results highly reliable, he said. "Today, a DNA profile is identity," Gahn said.

A serious and dangerous criminal has terrorized the residents of Palmetto Bay and Cutler Bay in Miami-Dade County since April. His victims are first, cats, second, their people, and third, all animal-lovers in the county. To date, the number of feline victims is over 19. He killed cats in a particularly sadistic and cruel manner. Cats are maimed, mutilated, and skinned, and often positioned in the owner’s yard. These killings are extremely traumatic for the people who find the cats, especially when the owner(s) find the cat left for them. The cat-loving community has been warning cat owners in these areas. The police are investigating the murders and have 16 officers and a county prosecutor assigned to specially investigate these crimes. A reward for information leading to the arrest of the serial cat killer was up to $10,000.00. The story has been picked up by both local and national news. www.cnn.com, www.miamiherald.com, www.cbs4.com. Finally, just last night, June 13th, he was caught. An eighteen-year-old teen boy living in the area. Who would do this? What type of person can commit such violent and sadistic acts? The answer is not entirely clear, but recent research suggests that this kind of behavior often begins in childhood. One recent review of studies of childhood animal cruelty used this example: “Henry Lee Lucas was born in Blacksburg, Virginia. At 10 years of age he watched his mother's live-in boyfriend stab a calf in the neck and have sex with it while it was dying. At age 13 he began catching small animals and skinning them alive for fun. After stabbing, mutilating, and murdering women for over 30 years, at age 47, Lucas is now serving a life sentence in prison.” Either males or females may torture and kill animals, but most of the time the offender is male. When females do it they are just as cruel, and commit similar acts to males. There is no one-size-fits-all “profile,” but the research shows that this behavior stemming from childhood is associated with “conduct disorder” which is often a child precursor to adult “antisocial behavior.” Adult anti-socials have this personality disorder, formerly known as either psychopathy, or sociopathy. The psychopath is one who commits violent acts, is often arrested and imprisoned, and shows no remorse for his victims. Such are some of the characteristics of serial killers. This does not mean that every child diagnosable with conduct disorder will do these things, and neither do all anti-socials. When someone displays a pattern of such behavior s/he will often graduate to further or more serious cruelty, abuse, or killing. Families experiencing domestic violence are at greater risk for having an abuser abuse a family pet; sometimes this is a way for the abuser to either represent what he will do to his human victim, or the abuser may just wish to further isolate his victim from the comfort of a trusted companion animal. Children who are also abused directly, or who witness within-family abuse of people or animals are more likely to become animal abusers themselves. There is as yet no way to predict exactly which of these children will grow into later animal or person abuse. But some studies suggest that children from extremely violent families commit more serious abuse than others. Research on serial killers has demonstrated a link between animal cruelty and later serial crimes against humans. In one study, researchers identified prison inmate animal abusers and found that the overwhelming majority of the most aggressive inmates abused cats; the number is triple the amount who abused dogs. For the cat abusers several had killed cats by hanging them, and even more had exploded cats or dogs. Other frequent methods of animal abuse included, “…limb amputation, decapitation, choking, brutal beatings, fracturing bones, and scalding with hot water...” There were reported events where abusers had tied the tails of animals together over a clothesline to see the animals fight each other. It is now considered important to consider which type of violence is committed against what animal in attempting to link childhood cruelty and later violence against humans. Other inmate studies basically support these results. In addition to the harm befalling the cats, people are being harmed, too. It is generally known that companion animal loss for some is just as severe a trauma as loss of a human companion. People who find these cats and their owners may be traumatized severely, both by the loss, the sadistic attack on themselves, and the knowledge that this psychopath is at large. The communities are disturbed as well just from learning about these cruel, sadistic acts by the person(s) at large and acting in their neighborhoods. Other parts of the county are affected; this killer could strike in their neighborhoods next. And, there is at least a possibility that the perpetrator has already or will begin to commit violent acts against humans. There is no known “cure” for the type and extent of the pathology exhibited by this perpetrator. But he must be stopped. Currently the police have charged him with numerous counts of animal cruelly, burglary, and other crimes. His police picture shows him with a smirk on his face. This boy lived in a nice neighborhood; his father is a dentist. It remains to be seen whether the charges will stick in court. Meanwhile, he is off the streets for now, but no one knows for how long, and whether he will "graduate" to sadistic crimes against humans. Sources: Haden & Scarpa (2005). http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/06/16/l...n_n_216362.html Lindsay Lohan entangled in jewelry heist Posted on June 16th, 2009 by Austin With her career apparently swirling the drain and the innumerable holes in her love-life, you’d Lindsay Lohan would be more careful in situations that could bring bad PR? Apparently not. The UK’s foremost police department, Scotland Yard, have now been summoned to investigate the unexplained disappearance of $400,000 of jewelry from a photo-shoot LaLohan did on June 6. “She kept going on about the jewels, asking if she could have them,” a source tells NBC. “We all thought she was joking!?” Lindsay’s reps got several calls from the mag when the loss was discovered, but ignored every one. And that’s when the Police got involved, “We’re investigating an allegation of theft of jewelry from studios in Islington,” a Police spokeswoman told reporters. “The theft was reported on June eighth, after earrings and a necklace went missing. Inquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.” Now the law are involved Lindsay’s reps are finally taking their calls. They claim they’ve been asking everyone who was there at the shoot where the jewels might have gone, and that the precious Ms. Lohan will be ‘happy to co-operate’…and thus extend her career. This is the third time the 22-year old actress has been involved in a tabloid burlesque about missing bling. Two years ago some big-ticket Luis Vuitton samples ‘disappeared’ from a magazine shoot, and last year she was fingered for leaving a party with a complete stranger’s expensive fur coat.

A New Yorker has been accused of an astonishing scam in which he dressed up like his dead mother for six years to steal $115,000 (£70,633) in benefits. Officials say Thomas Prusik-Parkin donned a wig, heavy make-up and old-fashioned dresses and then used a cane to pretend he was his mother. And he is even accused of roping in a relative to pretend to be a 'nephew' to help her walk and talk as she turned up for appointments. Prusik-Parkin, 49, is accused of giving a funeral director the wrong Social Security number and date of birth for his mother Irene Prusik so that her death would not be registered in government databases. That allegedly sparked an astonishing six-year charade in which he dressed up as an elderly woman and pretended to be her as he repeatedly collected benefits. Prusik-Parkin was arrested on Monday and charged with grand larceny, forgery and conspiracy charges linked to a deed and mortgage fraud scheme. 'I held my mother when she was dying and breathed in her last breath, so I am my mother,' Prusik-Parkin said when he was arrested, according to detectives. His mother, Irene Prusik, died in 2003 at age 73. After making sure her death would not be accurately recorded, Thomas began collecting $700 (£430) a month in Social Security in her name, in addition to his own disability checks, officials claim. He is accused of posing as Irene to file for bankruptcy so 'she' would be eligible for $39,000 (£24,000) in city subsidies to help pay rent on an apartment. To help in the ruse, Prusik-Parkin allegedly enlisted a close friend, Mhilton Rimolo, 47, to pose as Irene's nephew, help the 'ailing aunt' get around town, cash government checks and assist in property transactions. On April 29, for example, Rimolo was with 'Irene' when she renewed a driver's licence in Coney Island. When DA investigators showed up to interview Irene Prusik in May, they encountered an elderly 'woman' in a red dress and dark sunglasses who answered all their questions, sources said. Rimolo, who is also being charged, was at "her" side and told investigators Irene's son couldn't speak to them because he was not home. Prusik-Parkin was expected to be arraigned yesterday and Rimolo also faces charges for allegedly helping in the scam.
