(CNN) -- Relatives of slain California 8-year-old Sandra Cantu expressed "shock" Saturday at news that a neighbor -- a Sunday school teacher whose daughter was a playmate of Sandra's -- was arrested in the girl's death. Melissa Huckaby was charged with kidnapping and murder in the death of 8-year-old Sandra Cantu. 1 of 2 "Just utter shock and disbelief," Sandra's aunt Angie Chavez told CNN affiliate KOVR. "I can't imagine a mother doing this to a child." Melissa Huckaby, 28, was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail early Saturday and faces charges of kidnapping and murder in the death of Sandra in Tracy, California. Sandra was last seen March 27 in the Tracy mobile home park where she lived with her family -- the same mobile home park where Huckaby lives. The girl's body was found Monday, stuffed into a suitcase submerged in a pond at a dairy farm. "We have to live the rest of our lives without Sandra. [Huckaby] is in jail. She can still see her little girl grow up," Sandra's uncle, Joe Chavez, told KOVR. He said the family is "shell-shocked" and hopes that in time they can learn to trust people again. "Who can you trust at this point?" he said. "Who do you know?" A police spokesman told reporters Saturday he "couldn't begin to theorize" a motive for Sandra's death. Watch police discuss the arrest » Huckaby is the granddaughter of Clifford Lane Lawless, pastor at the Clover Road Baptist Church, which was searched as part of the investigation, Tracy police Sgt. Tony Sheneman told reporters. Huckaby taught Sunday school at the church, he said. In addition, Huckaby's 5-year-old daughter was close friends with Sandra, who often played at Huckaby's home. Earlier Saturday, Sheneman said he did not believe Huckaby had retained an attorney. In a Friday interview with the Tracy Press newspaper, Huckaby acknowledged owning the black rolling suitcase that held Sandra's body, but said she reported it missing the day before the girl's body was found. She said it disappeared the same day the girl was last seen. Don't Miss KCRA: Suspect is pastor's granddaughter WTXL: Arrest made in murder case Police search church for clues to girl's slaying California girl, 8, disappears after playing with friend "There's been a lot of speculation on the news about what happened to my suitcase," she told the newspaper. "It's not my granddad's. It's mine, and someone took it." Police said Huckaby lives in the same mobile home complex where Sandra lived with her family; the Tracy Press reported Huckaby lives with her grandparents. Police noted "inconsistencies" between comments Huckaby made to the newspaper and a previous statement she gave authorities, Sheneman said. It was one reason police asked her Friday to come to the station to be interviewed again. She drove there about 6 p.m. Friday, he said. Authorities believe Huckaby lied about the suitcase being missing, Sheneman said. Asked whether authorities believe Sandra's death was planned, Sheneman said the question is "not something I can answer right now" but "we do have an indication." He said authorities have found where they believe the girl was killed, but would not divulge that location to reporters. "I couldn't begin to theorize what her motive is," Sheneman said of Huckaby. During the Friday night interview with police, Huckaby was "very relaxed for a bit, and then she became very emotional, and then she became relaxed again" before appearing resigned, Sheneman said. He declined to say whether Huckaby had confessed, but said "she revealed enough information that we had probable cause to arrest her." Huckaby was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail about 3:25 a.m. (6:25 a.m. ET), according to the county sheriff's Web site. She is set to appear in court Tuesday. Police took Huckaby into custody about 11:15 p.m. Friday (2:15 a.m. ET Saturday), Sheneman said, but she chose to continue talking with them for more than two hours. Authorities told Sandra's family of the arrest about 2:15 a.m. local time, he said. "They were in disbelief." Watch neighbors remember slain girl » Police have had contact with Huckaby before, but she does not have a record of violence, Sheneman said, but did not elaborate. He said no other arrests are expected in Sandra's death. Citing court records, the Tracy Press reported Huckaby pleaded no contest January 9 to a felony charge of second-degree commercial burglary and a misdemeanor charge of property theft with a prior theft, burglary or robbery. A criminal complaint says she was jailed in Los Angeles County on a property theft conviction in 2006 and that she attempted to steal from a store in November 2008. According to the complaint, she is on probation in San Joaquin County and is due back in court April 17. Asked about the court records, Huckaby told the newspaper it wasn't her and that she did not know why the address and cell phone number in the court documents match her own. "I don't know what to say," she said. "That's not me." Police believe that by the time Sandra was reported missing, she was already dead, Tracy Police Chief Janet Thiessen told reporters Saturday. "There was some speculation early on that [the suspect] would be a man," Sheneman said Saturday. "It's unusual for a woman -- statistically, according to the FBI -- to be involved in anything like this." The day Sandra was last reported seen, she returned home from school, kissed her mother and left to play with a friend who lives nearby. A short time later, wearing a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and black leggings, she left to go to another friend's home, according to a family spokeswoman. Police said the girl's clothing helped them identify her body. Huckaby told the Tracy Press that Sandra stopped by her home that day to ask if she could play with Huckaby's daughter, but Huckaby refused because she wanted her daughter to pick up her toys. Sandra left for another friend's home, Huckaby told the newspaper. How Sandra died has not been made public. An autopsy was conducted earlier in the week, but CNN affiliate KRON-TV said results are not expected for weeks. Thiessen said Saturday any autopsy information as well as search warrants filed in the case remain under seal. ----------------- look at this womans picture http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/04/11/california.girl.arrest/ she looks normal

Green Day's American Idiot inspires rock musical Pop-punk trio Green Day, comprising, from left, Mike Dirnt, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Tré Cool, will see their hit album American Idiot transformed into a stage musical. (Tina Fineberg/Associated Press)American Idiot, pop-punk band Green Day's Grammy Award-winning 2004 concept album, is set to become a rock musical in the trio's Berkeley, Calif. home turf. Band frontman Billy Joe Armstrong collaborated on the production's story with Michael Mayer, the Tony Award-winning director of Spring Awakening. The band had "been thinking of bringing American Idiot to the stage but knew we needed to find the right partners," Armstrong said in a statement. "We were so impressed with [spring Awakening] as well as [Mayer's] vision for American Idiot that we knew we'd found the perfect collaborator." The musical, to open in September at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre, will feature songs from American Idiot — including hit tracks Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Holiday and Wake Me Up When September Ends — as well as numbers from the band's upcoming album 21st Century Breakdown, set for release in May. Book follows disillusioned characters Released in 2004, American Idiot has sold about 12 million copies worldwide and won a number of Grammy awards, including a trophy for album of the year and a record of the year win for the track Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Loosely based on the disillusioned characters depicted in the album's lyrics, the stage musical will follow a number of young suburbanites who choose different paths in life, from fighting in Iraq to spiralling into drug addiction to staying put in one's hometown. The company will feature 19 performers, with Olivier Award-winner Steven Hoggett enlisted as choreographer. The production was workshopped recently in New York and is set to run Sept. 4 through Oct. 11 as the opener for Berkeley Rep's 2009-2010 season

I can't wait. And although I may wait 3 days for crowds to go down, I may dress up. I am THAT geeky. Not ashamed of it either. there is usually enough action and interest to keep me awake during sci fi. or horror movies. -
Oldest living cat The average life expectancy of an indoor cat is between 9 to 15 years. According to the Guinness Book of Records, the oldest living cat is a Burmese called Kataleena Lady who lives in Melbourne, Australia. Kataleena Lady was born on March 11th, 1977. Oldest cat The oldest living cat is Creme Puff of Austin Texas. Born on August 3rd 1967, Creme Puff celebrated her 38th birthday in August 2005. Also deserving a mention are Puss, who was born in 1903. Puss was owned by Mrs T. Holway of Devon. Puss passed away on 29th November, 1939, one day after his 36th birthday. The second is Granpa who lived to the ripe old age of 34. Granpa Rexs Allen (Granpa for short) was a Sphyx adopted from the Humane Society in Texas . Heaviest cat Himmy who lived in Cairns, Queensland, is the heaviest recorded cat, weighing in at a staggering 21.3kg (46.8lbs). Himmy, a desexed tabby died at the age of 10 of respiratory failure. Many sources mention a cat by the name of Snowbie, who reputedly weighs 44kg. Personally, I find this hard to believe, especially as Himmy's weight was 46.8lbs. That would make Snowbie twice Himmy's weight. My own conclusion is that somebody mistook Snowbie's weight in lbs for kilos, and this error has been copied over & over again. So, presuming Snowbie does in fact weigh 44lbs, this makes him the world's second heaviest cat on record, and the heaviest living cat. Snowbie resides in Aberdeenshire, Scotland with his owner Lorna. As of February 2003, there is a new contender for the world's heaviest cat. Five year old Katy, who lives in Russia reportedly weighs 20kg. Katy's owners had hoped to have her recognised as the world's heaviest cat with the Guinness Book of Records however they are no longer accepting nominations in this category as they don't want to encourage pet owners to overfeed their animals. Lightest cat The world's smallest cat is a Blue Point Himalayan by the name of Tinker Toy from the USA. Tinker Toy was just 2 ¾ tall (at the shoulder) & 7 ½ long (about the size of a cheque book). Tinker toy weighed 1lb & 8oz. Tinker Toy was featured in an article in the August 31, 1993 issue of National Enquirer. If anybody has a copy of this magazine I would love to hear from you. Sadly, Tinker Toy passed away in November 1997. Many thanks to Scott & Katrina for their help. Smallest Cat Mr Peebles, a 2 year old domestic cat of Central Illinois holds the Guinness Book of World Records award for the smallest living cat. Weighing in around 3lbs he is 6.1 inches high. Apparently his small stature is due to a genetic defect. Cat with most toes Eighteen toes is the normal number for cats. A five year old moggy from Ontario, Canada is in the Guinness Book of Records for having the most toes. Jake has a total of 27 toes. Unofficially Mooch who lives with his owners Bob & Becky Duval in Maine, USA is the winner having 28 toes. Mooch's owners have submitted evidence to the Guinness Book of Records, watch out Jake!!! Cats with more than the "normal" number of toes are called Polydactyl. Poly comes from the Greek word "polys" which means many or more than one. Dactyl also comes from the Greek word "daktylos" or finger. Polydactyl's are also known as Hemingway cats. Most Kittens Produced by a Domestic Cat By 1952, Dusty, a Tabby moggy from Texas had given birth to a total number of 420 kittens in her lifetime.

Is it too late to join the league of ninjas? CNN) -- Pirates near Somalia's coastline attacked a cargo ship Wednesday with a crew of at least 20 U.S. nationals aboard, according to the company that owns the vessel. The hijacked ship is believed to be similar to the vessel pictured. Maersk Line Ltd issued a statement saying it believes the U.S.-flagged Maersk Alabama was hijacked. If so, it would be the sixth hijacking over the past week in the region. The container vessel was en route to Mombasa, Kenya, when it was attacked about 500 kilometers (310 miles) off Somalia's coast, the statement said. U.S. government sources said the ship was attacked about 7:30 a.m., and the closest U.S. Navy warship was about 300 nautical miles away. On Tuesday, the U.S. Navy warned mariners that pirates were attacking ships hundreds of miles offshore. The cargo ship is owned and operated by a Maersk subsidiary in Norfolk, Virginia, Maersk spokesman Michael Storgaard said. He would not provide any details about the security arrangements on board the Maersk Alabama. "We have very strict policies on the vessel ... crews are trained to handle these types of situations," Storgaard said from Maersk's headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark. He said the company is contacting the crew members' relatives and setting up assistance for them. "That is at this moment our primary concern," Storgaard said. Watch a Maersk spokesman talk of the hijacking » The Maersk Line is one of the Department of Defense's primary shipping contractors, but the Maersk Alabama is not under a Pentagon contract, according to Lt. Nathan Christensen, a spokesman for the U.S. military's 5th Fleet in Bahrain. Storgaard said the Maersk Alabama was carrying general cargo, including, most likely, aid supplies for East Africa. No action has been taken so far against the pirates, Christensen said. "There is a task force present in the region to deter any type of piracy, but the challenge remains that the area is so big and it is hard to monitor all the time," he said. "The area we patrol is over a million square miles. We can't be everywhere at once." He said U.S.-flagged ships are not usually escorted by the U.S. Navy unless they request it. Pirates are changing their tactics and taking advantage of tens of thousands of square miles of open water where fewer military ships patrol, according to U.S. military officials, as evidenced by more attacks off the coast of Somalia, south of the seas patrolled by U.S. and coalition ships. "They [pirates] are going where we are not, they are looking for targets where there is limited coalition presence," according to a U.S. military briefing document shown to CNN. See how pirate attacks have increased » Christensen said the pirates appear to be using larger ships either to attack, or as a base ship from which they launch smaller attack ships. "It appears the pirates are operating in a different fashion," he said. "It's a lot like cops on a beat. The criminals will go where they're not." Coalition ships mainly patrol in the busy sea lanes of the Gulf of Aden between Yemen and northern Somalia as ships come out of and head toward the mouth of the Red Sea. "Despite increased naval presence in the region, ships and aircraft are unlikely to be close enough to provide support to vessels under attack. The scope and magnitude of the problem cannot be understated," according to a news release from the U.S. Navy.

(CNN) -- Authorities searched a church near where an 8-year-old California girl was found dead Monday in the hopes of finding clues that would lead to her killer. Sandra Cantu, 8, was found in a suitcase at a dairy-farm pond near her Calilfornia home. The body of Sandra Cantu of Tracy, California, was found stuffed into a suitcase in a dairy-farm pond. Cantu had been missing since March 27. Tracy police Sgt. Tony Sheneman told CNN's Nancy Grace he would not elaborate on what evidence led them to Clover Road Baptist Church. He would say only that detectives developed probable cause that persuaded a judge to sign a search warrant. Lane Lawless, the church's pastor, told CNN affiliate KCRA he was questioned for about three hours by police, adding that he had nothing to do with Cantu's disappearance or death. "We have fully cooperated with the police," Lawless told KCRA. "We have answered all their questions." Authorities also searched the mobile home park Tuesday where the girl lived. "Investigators are looking at additional information they received since yesterday (Monday) and, hopefully, that will lead us to Sandra's killers," Sheneman said. Asked if his use of the plural meant police were looking for more than one person, Sheneman responded, "We have no specific suspects." Sheneman also implied the killer likely was familiar with the location where the body was found. He said he himself was unfamiliar with the location where the girl's body was found, despite having lived in the community for nearly 12 years. Don't Miss KCRA: FBI searches in, under church Tape shows Sandra Cantu playing in alley Police searching river, garbage in missing girl case "Someone would have to be familiar with that area to know to go there," he said. Watch how the suitcase was found » Sheneman said police had no one in custody, despite having interviewed hundreds of people regarding the case. "Everyone that we speak to right now is being considered a person of interest," he said. "We're not eliminating anyone." The autopsy was being conducted Tuesday, but it was not clear when the report would be available. "It's going to be some time before we hear from the coroner," Sheneman said. "I can't tell you when that's going to be." More than 10 search warrants have been executed as part of the investigation and "a lot" of evidence has been recovered, Sheneman said. The day Cantu was last reported seen, she returned home from school, kissed her mother and left to play with a friend who lives nearby. A short time later, wearing a pink Hello Kitty T-shirt and black leggings, she left to go to another friend's home, according to a family spokeswoman. Police said Monday the girl's clothing helped them identify the body.
