Aren't Ankle Biters them little tinny dogs that wont stop barking? I don't like them nether -
This was discover on one of my front teeth at my last dental cleaning. On Monday I had a root canal done and had a kind of acid poured into the tooth to kill the cells that were causing the tooth to be eaten away. My only other option would have been to have the tooth pulled. Not wanting to be missing a front tooth I went with the root canal. I now have to go back and have a filling put in, then I have to go back in 2 months to have the tooth scanned and x-ray to make sure that all of the cells that were eating the tooth are gone. I had no clue what so ever that this was going on until it was discover by the person cleaning my teeth that something did not look right. Apparently it is a rather odd sort of thing to happen and I had never heard of such a thing until I found out it was happening to me. Your body basically starts attacking your tooth. If left untreated the tooth will brake off and be lost. I have put in a link with more info if you care to take a look. http://www.achingteeth.com/tooth_resorption/tooth_resorption.html

With the price of food going up and working people having to turn to food banks and government food pregames to get by, I think that owning a few chickens in the city should be allowed. They don't take too much room and a few can produce a lot of eggs. As for the smell well I have smelled the city and I would much rather smell the chickens. Well that's what I think anyway! So there! -
I am simply seeking some opinions on this. A friend of ours has a jeep for sale. It runs good they just want to sale it because the inside gets kind of cold in the winter because it has them snap on doors. I already own a jeep and my husband has a small car with front wheel drive that he takes too and from work. His job requires him to drive a lot mostly out of town and out of state. We live 16 miles from town on a dirt road out in the cornfields. Having a 4-wheel drive is a must here when it snows. Just to get out of the driveway and into town. So when it snows heavy my husband takes my jeep to where ever his work site happens to be for that day. And I am stuck at the house with the small car that I can't really get out of the driveway to drive. So my husband has said something to me about buying this jeep off our friend so he will have something to drive this winter through the snow. And I wont be stuck here at the house without transportation when he needs my jeep. But I am unsure as to rather or not we should spend the money one it. I know you can not tell me what to do. But I am just wondering what some of you do and how do you decide if this is something that is really needed or something that we can do without.

God No!
LadyKay replied to n0Mad's topic in Current Events, Science, Spirituality, Politics, Religion & Sociology
I'm not sure I agree with this. I have personally known many of people who have followed their religion all the way to the grave. The church I attend is made up mostly by older people. I have also known many older people to find their religion later on in life. They having spent their younger years being wild and out of control. So I disagree with his statement, that is all I have to say. For now that is. -

LOL I like this one! -
In all seriousness I can not for the life of me work out how they came to declare hay a pollutant. I drive by many farms and see hay all the time. All it ever does is sit there. Unless you set the thing on fire it produces no smoke, and no offensive odor. Unless of cores you do not like the smell of hay. Then you have to have your nose pressed to it to smell that. If hay is a pollutant then what about the grass clippings after you mow your lawn? I fear what could be next will be that they will declare human farts and pollutant and force everyone to were a sealed container on their butts to collect fart in. Heaven help us if anyone stands too close to an open flame. I agree with the other post here saying that this is nothing more then a means to do away with the family farm.

grandma at 32!
LadyKay replied to Simon Bar Sinister's topic in Relationships, Pets & Domestic Homelife
I'm not sure if this applies to this topic or not but I became a step-grandma 1 year after I had my first child. My husband's oldest daughter got pregnant at 18 and had a baby girl just a few weeks pass my baby's first birthday. I jokingly told my husband I guess this makes us white trash having a grandchild just 1 year younger then your youngest child. LOL And yes I was in my 30's when this happen. But I did not think it was anything to do an interview about. Personally I don't think a 15 or 16 year old having a baby is something to brag about. But that is just my opinion. And I am a bit old fashion I know. -
Just watch. I think soon they are going to start banning parents from packing lunches. Saying that parents aren't packing their kids the right kind of foods. Just wait. it's coming. It has already happen in a school in Chicago. http://blogs.babycenter.com/mom_stories/chicago-school-bans-pack-lunches/

When you wash your clothes with shampoo because you can't afford laundry soap. Yep, done it. -
I've been saying this all along and people just look at me like I'm some kind of flower loving hippie. We are living in a way that the human race was not meant to live. We where meant to live in tribal groups with every member of the tribe helps each other and is depended upon each other. That is one of the reason modern society has so many issues. We are living in a way we where not wired for.

I think biology and genetics play some roll in weigh gain. I think that some people have gens that tell the their body to make more fat cells while others do not. People who's biology make up tells their body to make more fat cells gain wait faster and more easily. And there for have to be more concern about what they eat. When I was in high school, I could and did eat anything I wanted. I never gained a pound and weight under 100 pounds all through high school. I stop being able to do that when I reached my 30's. I'm not saying that biology is an excuse for all people who are overweight and there for they should just use that excuse and give in to whatever they want to eat. But I think that it is important to understand your own body and that if you have a harder time taking off weight, instead of getting down on your self. Just realize that because of your body make up, maybe it will take you a bit longer to get into the shape and you may need to work a bit harder at it. Just like some people can get all A's in school with only a few minuets of study time while another student can study for hours and not get a grad higher then a "C. Well anyway that's what I think.

I'm not sure if this question has an answer. But why is Africa so poor? For as long has I can remember people and nations have been sending aid to Africa. And yet nothing changes. I can remember as a little kid watching "help the starving children in Africa" programs on tv bagging people to send money so they could buy food and medical care for the children of Africa. And here it is years later and they are still staving and dieing of things that could easily be prevented or cured. Why are they so behind the rest of the world? Why can they not take care of their own? I am not asking this to be uncaring. It just seems like all these years of sending money and aid has not made anything difference at all. From generation to generation they just keep on starving and dieing and in need of basic care. Something other then sending aid needs to be done to help these poor people.

You know your poor when you come up with created ways to fix Spam and Mac & Cheese. -
I can and do use traps. But I use the wooded traps with the arm that snaps down on their head and kills them instantly. I refuse to use the glue boxes because I think an instant death is more human then letting the poor thing get stuck to a glue box and die a slow death of starvation. One guy told me he used the glue box and one night a mouse got its front paws stuck to it and spent the whole night running all over the kitchen pushing the glue box that he was stuck on. He said he will never use glue boxed again.

A note to parents in the Phoenixville, Pa. school district recently announced , "Effective with the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year, food items to celebrate student birthdays will no longer be permitted." For some reason this makes me feel kind of sad. What has happen to our world when children can no longer have a cup cake. Just more prove that things suck. Michigan's Alma School District, cupcakes have been banned from birthday celebrations, in an effort to fight childhood obesity. So in lieu of getting a sugary treat, the classmates of the birthday kid get an extra 30 minutes of gym class that day. Oh wonderful, an extra 30 minutes of gym class. Where the weak are singled out and tormented because they can not hit a stupid little ball with a stick. (I hated gym class but that is for another post) http://news.yahoo.com/no-more-birthday-cupcakes-elementary-school-classrooms-181400455.html
