My Mother Is Hard To Understand
LadyKay replied to LadyKay's topic in Relationships, Pets & Domestic Homelife
Yeah okay. I have a strange relationship with my mother. There is a history behind it. She wanted a kid but didn't want to have to do the parenting if you know what I mean. So she sent me off to stay with grandma so she could do her own thing. So now it is like she doesn't really feel like she is my mom so to speak. It is kind of hard to explain. She also likes to party and I was never into that sort of thing. So she only likes to hang out with people who like to party. I am more of a stay home watch Netflix, take care of my kid, and play computer games person. She has a "man friend" that she hangs out with. She never invites me over for holidays cause she is always doing something with her "man friend." She will say to me "Me and Norm are having Thanksgiving together, where are you going for Thanksgiving?" So I just do my own thing. She pops by once in a while, drops off some food item she does not want. Tells me what her and her "man friend" are doing that day then leaves. That's it. It is just the way things are between us and I accepted it. Well thanks for letting me talk that all out. -
My mother comes up with this stuff for us to do but never follows through with it. The latest one being that we will go have lunch at Red Lobster. This started back at the end of Feb. She calls me up and tells she got a gift card for Red Lobster and that me and her can go when the weather gets better. This went on through March her telling me we will go when the weather gets better. So.....the weather got better. Now she tells me we will go when she gets the money. She does this stuff a lot. It is always her ideals but she never follows through with it. I just say "sure mom whatever that will be fine." Knowing that it is most likely not going to happen. Oh well.

About a month ago my dog passed away. Last night she showed up in my dream. It was so real I woke up crying at 3am. She was in a room with me and I told her she shouldn't be here because she died. I told her she should be in Heaven, because she was such a good dog she should be in Heaven. I was petting her and she jump in my lap and started saying to me in her dog voice. "I love you, I love you, I love you." Over and over again. I woke up upset but I also thought it was the most beautiful dream ever.

It's that time of the year again where I get freaked out by giant East Bunnies!

We have to put our dog down today. She is 12 years old, has severe arthritis pain, and now strange tumors are growing all over her and the vet does not know why. She is also deaf and has swelling on her shoulder that won't go down. She is in pain every time she walks. We had her since she was a puppy. She has been the best dog ever! She is the kind of dog that you can walk without a leash. She will just walk beside you and listen to your commands. My husband says he wants another dog someday. But I don't ever want another one because it hurts too much to say goodbye. And you always have to say goodbye.

Came To My Door Asking To See My Electric Bill
LadyKay replied to LadyKay's topic in Relationships, Pets & Domestic Homelife
I email my electric company and ask them about all of this. They email me back saying that this person was not one of their people. She showed up again today at my door and I told her I talked to my electric company and they told me you are not a part of them. She then changed her tune saying no we don't work for them but we offer better rates if you go through us. I told her no I am not having anything to do with this and sent her on her way. Don't mess with me. I'm the kind of person that calls telemarketers back and yell at them for calling me. -
So we were eating supper when someone knocked on my door. I went to the door and there was a lady wanted information about my electric bill. They flashed a clip id thing at me and said they worked for Jet or Jit Electric or something like that and wanted to see if I was getting the best rate or something. When I told them that Jet Or Jit is not my electric company they then said they do service for my electric company as well. She kept asking to see my electric bill. I don't trust anyone showing up at my door asking to see anything personal. So I did not show her my bill and told her we are eating supper right nowt . With that she went on her way. I went to look stuff up about this because it seem strange. As it turns out what I found out is they try to get your account number from your bill then they switch you over to their company without your permission. Or they get you to sign up for a lower rate then up it after a few months to a higher rate. Anyone else hear of this stuff going on?

I'm trying to keep a sense of humor about all of this: So this year we spent Christmas at my mother in law's house. This is how it went. She invited us over for Christmas dinner. Then she complain about having to spend money buying the food and how tight money is right now and that she may have to sale the house she just bought cause she does not have any money. She told us that dinner was going to be at 3:00pm. So my husband and I thought we should show up at 2:00pm because she always expects us to come an hr early, so 2:00pm seem right. At 1:30pm she calls me on the phone and wants to know where I am! I told her I am home. She then proceeds to give me a good bawling out for not being at her house RIGHT THEN AND NOW! Then yelling something about the potatoes being done and that we are suppose to be there RIGHT NOW because the potatoes are done! I said well I thought we were eating at 3:00pm so we were going to come at 2:00pm! The she is says "well you don't have to wait until 2:00pm you can come earlier then that! " I told her we are on our way and so off we went. So we have our Christmas dinner and everything seems to be going alright except she is still complaining that we should have shown up sometime before the 2:00pm time spot. Although it was never clear what that time was suppose to be but it has something to do with how long it takes for the potatoes to get done. So then came time for the Christmas gifts. To which she made a point to let us know that she is not going to have the money to keep giving out Christmas gifts and she has all these bills to pay, so we may not being getting anymore Christmas gifts from her! I just said "thank you for the gift" and left it at that. After all of that she wanted to know if we were going to come over for New Years. I didn't really give her an answer. After we left I told my husband I would much rather have New Year's dinner at home so to avoid anymore (as I put it) Misunderstandings with my mother in law. THE END

Seeking New Friendships Is Like Dating
LadyKay replied to LadyKay's topic in Relationships, Pets & Domestic Homelife
Yeah I am stuck in Ohio for the time being. -
It seems to me that seeking out new friendship is kind of like dating. I meet someone and maybe we will meet somewhere for lunch or something. I always hope that they like me well enough to hang out with me again and form into a friendship. But most of the time it seems to be a one time thing and they show no more interest. So I thought, this is almost like dating. You ask someone out. You go out. Then if you like them you want to have another date with them and you hope it forms into something more. Seems that way to me anyway.

The Candyman...
LadyKay replied to kat's topic in Current Events, Science, Spirituality, Politics, Religion & Sociology
I have tossed out a few pieces of candy that have looked odd. No name or in a language I can't read. But nothing bad has ever been found. Nothing bad was every found when I was a kid. -
Kids Playing Outside Unsupervised
LadyKay replied to RosyBlue's topic in Relationships, Pets & Domestic Homelife
I think a lot depends on the kids. Like can they be trusted not to leave the yard and do they know about not taking candy from strangers. Stuff like that. Oh and how well do you know your neighbors. When I was a kid 6 and 5 was old enough to run the neighborhood. Which I did. But it is not like that anymore. -
Funny story I just have to tell someone about it. So I took my daughter out trick or treating. My mother in law had called me early in the day telling me to stop by her house when I am out tonight with my daughter. I tell her sure not really wanting too but it is on our trick or treat route so no big deal. So 5pm comes and off we go trick or treating. We get half way down the street and my mother in law calls my cell phone again telling me to stop by. I am like "yeah we are going to will swing around there on the way home." So anyway, my daughter and I make the rounds and then head over to grandma. When we get there she give us some candy and me a bag of corn. So here I am walking down the street dressed up for Halloween carrying a bag of corn! Happy Halloween!

I know my friend. We had to wait 6 years in between. Look for deals online it was cheaper that way. And I didn't eat anything the whole time was there cause the food prices will break you.

This town for as small as it is has a serious drug issue. Mostly heroin. It is the norm to hear about someone over dosing weekly. And not just young people like teens or 20 years old. People who are in their late 30s or early 40s. Also many of the near by towns have the same issue. One town smaller then this one just 16 miles away, a meth lap was found. One night cops were called in from all over pulling over cars and arresting people for drugs in a big sweep they did. So it does not surprise me that people are shooting up at Family Dollar. Also in 2013, there was a hostage situation at Family Dollar were a guy who had a history of mental issues went into the store with a gun, took the manager hostage, shot her in the head and killed her, then killed himself. There are good people in this town. Most are hard working who care about others. But there is also some kind of evil as well.

I stop into the Family Dollar store today and there is a sign on the door telling people that they must wear clothes. I would think that people would know this but this is my hometown after all so I do understand the need for the sign. After laughing with one of the workers there about it she shared with me the dark side of it; saying that people are coming into the store and shooting up Heroin. And that she is finding needles in the store. Yep, this is where I live. People shooting up in Family Dollar and having to be told they must wear clothes.
