I sense you have a specific point, something you're looking to say, here. So what exactly are you talking about? Looks to me like you're pussyfooting around some *particular* issue. People disagree all the time. You're just not supposed to be outright rude about it. So what exactly is it thats bugging you?

The original results were 65% blind compliance. These results were 80%. Instead of showing we were less likely to blindly follow authority (or in this case, televised pressure), we showed we think less about our convictions to politely refuse to do another harm at the behest of "authority"; we are instead *more* likely to push the button to hurt someone because someone else told you to. I think thats regressing. Also sad. I also think the initial experiment itself is really awful.

This one? Worst comes to worst, if you can find a DVD in another region, theres freeware you can use to play it on your computer. -
I am quite well aware of what a Sluagh is. In both senses of the word. I've got the Changeling sourcebooks, but I also know the old celtic lore behind the name, too. I'd say at the moment, you're acting more like the Celtic Sluagh. And no, that's not a compliment. I like the Changeling Sluagh. You seem like you could be a very interesting, smart individual if you could get over your impulse to willfully cause trouble. Let people get to know you for who you are, and get out of your own way, perhaps? You may not like or respect a lot of people here, but if you payed attention, you may find people who are a real pleasure to know. And to keep the post On Topic.... I seriously think people with pain medication in their system while on the job are far more dangerous than someone who has medical pot in their pee from a time they werent at work. And if the dude was a recreational user, I'd have less sympathy. However, I know quite a bit about folks in pain. My husband has a non-fatal problem that puts him in enormous pain. He's been on a LOT of pain drugs. He doesnt like it, and only has taken them when the pain is so extreme he cannot function. But, being a rather tough guy with a hardy constitution, he can probably put up with a lot more than most. He doesnt like pot, and never, ever would have taken it. But I bet it would have done a lot less damage to his liver and kidneys than what the Vicodin, Percocet, and Hydromorphone have probably already done. Lucky for us, we finally found someone who could operate, and do something for his condition. He's recovering from that right now. I cannot imagine if it had been something fatal, as this guy has. This guy was just being responsible, keeping his job and insurance as he could, and not taking meds at work. This was really crappy of Wal Mart, and Id be willing to bet someone in that organization saw an opportunity to reduce their bottom line (his insurance), and took it. Regardless of how you feel about medical pot, firing a terminally ill patient who had no performance issues in their job is inhumane.

It disturbs me sometimes to see how things are trending with people. As generations of younger people who were raised by the television set, received no discipline, and given in to by their parents in order to shut them up are becoming young adults--I see a lot of self important, self-centered, apathetic, self entitled pigs who act as though they needn't do a day of serious work and expect to be handed everything they want. They walk over anyone in their way, care for none but themselves, and show an astonishing amount of willful ignorance about the world around them. In this age of small-world technology, we should be more aware and educated than ever. I very seriously fear for the future. That said, there are a few really cool folks who have still managed to parent some wonderful little people. They give me hope, even if they are in the minority.

I think two years in jail for simply being a blowhard would be a miscarriage of justice. It would also be very bad publicity, and discourage border traffic. I'm thinking he will get fined, and perhaps forbidden to cross awhile? Which will cut into his business, as he will not be able to appear at any American conventions. I think that would be plenty. This is too stupid for jail.

BIG difference between a drug user and a cancer patient. This isnt about a recreational drug user. This is about someone with a painful illness. And just as you have a right to say something insensitive about someone with a (probably) terminal illness, we have the right to say it was a shitty thing you said, and that we think it was said out of either ignorance, or a very, very closed mind.

Why would you WANT to be 1000 pounds? That shit will kill her. -
I'm not personally comfortable with medical pot, but realise how some may find it preferable to the inevitable barrage of other things the docs do for pain.... if medical pot can keep you off more serious stuff, then you should have the option without the stigma. They tried to put David on methadone for his pain at one point, but he knew how dangerous it was and opted to stick with vicodin and just suffer it out. Not everyone can do that.
