  1. Amen. Someone preaching what people should or should not be consuming, and following it up with pictures of morbidly obese people is insulting to the intelligence of your intended audience. Lay off the cheap emotional tactics, and if you're going to attempt another piece of rhetoric like that, either choose a better written article to post, or write it yourself. Otherwise, instead of conveying your opinion in an effective manner, all you'll accomplish is pissing people off. And I'll echo what others have already said-- demonizing soda is kind of ignorant. Exercise, or lack of it, is more a culprit of obesity than sugary beverages. Now if the argument was that soda causes tooth issues, I might have been more inclined to agree, or at least read more with an open mind.
  2. I know a dude who has one, and he has used it *in the building* at work. It doesn't even stink, all it lets off is steam vapor. He is using it to wean away from cigarettes. Safe, according to him, and works well.
  3. if we werent paying on the ch. 13, things would be a lot easier. a real 2 income household would be nice....
  4. Yeah. Cost of living is insane enough that even for two income households, we still end up poor by the time we stop hemmorraging money. :( and if energy costs go up, i am so screwed.
  5. You'd be surprised how many technically have incomes over 50k, Rev. Its just the taxes and health insurance and car insurance and rent and bills that kill most of that. We looked at our income on paper, and thought "WTF?? Where is it going?"
  6. I like the areas that use food garbage for livestock. Saw that Dirty Jobs recently that showed how Vegas strip hotels send their buffet waste to a local pig farm. Dude might be buying it for all I know, though.
  7. If i ever have insane money when im ready to get a house, I want to go with solar panels. Makes sense here, with 300 days of sun a year.
  8. These people are brilliant: Brute Force Leather
  9. Wow. Just wow. People are having enough of an issue selling their homes already. If this goes into effect, there will be more abandoned (read: bank owned) properties than ever.
  10. I did! It was awesome. Who busted out the Holmes novels after going? I found them for free on Project Gutenberg !
  11. I see a lot of examples of companies being poor corporate citizens. So many companies lead by a good example. Why cant others as well? Take Stonyfield Farms, for example. They're damn fine folks.
  12. Better. Still not 100%, but a whole lot better.
  13. You can always go buy em up while theyre still on the shelves.
  14. ABNEY PARK IS PLAYING THIS EVENT. Having said that, i want to cry... i dont know if ill be able to come home for this....
