Besides, there are all kinds of behaviour laws out there, how's this any different? You cant go out in public drunk and inflict obnoxious behaviour on others (by public i mostly mean in public areas), so why was inflicting stink on others ok? Michigan is not the first nor last place to enact a smoking ban, and theyve been survived everywhere else theyve gone in. And Cherny-- Mostly, people go to bars to DRINK. And as for the blowing smoke at people who did nothing to you because of the ban? I figure youd find it perfectly acceptable then if they farted at you in response?

There's been a smoking ban here for a long time, and businesses are doing just fine. As a matter of fact, I'm surprised at the amount of people here DO smoke, in a places where bans exist.

I think perhaps using "street drugs" as prescription drugs would be like using explosives to open something when a pry bar was available. As was stated earlier, a lot of the old classic street drugs were prescription or research meds at one time, then the process was refined. Usually for a good reason. There ARE too many prescription meds that are... dangerous and addictive too, though.

If donations are that low, have you thought about reducing the hosting package with Invision? That way, rather than going offline altogether, the board may be handicapped a bit, but it would stay online. You haven't posted the hard numbers in awhile. Maybe if folks knew how close or how far away the totals were from being ok, it would ultimately benefit the board full time by not only keeping things completely transparent, but it would be know how much or how little would be needed to bridge the gap at any given time. Totally list everything, and when all that's needed is a little "push", it could motivate people to bridge the gap as needed. Or, when it's a larger gap, they'll know the size of the task. I also think it would help folks to know exactly whats going on.

....a little judgmental, bashing on older moms, don't you think? You have no idea if this woman might be in excellent health, and have no way of knowing how she will be when she is older. She may have no trouble at all "keeping up" with her younger child. (She's 40 guys, not 50 or 60). I know folks whose moms had a 'surprise' baby late in life, and everything turned out just fine. Some are quite close to me. There are so many young children with no money and substance problems that are having babies by accident. So one woman who obviously has money and stability (and other kids) wants to have another baby. Seems responsible enough to me. Also, like I said....she's 40. Plenty of women dont have kids til near 40 anyway. That said.... what an awful thing. That clinic...good grief.

That's just the simple "who knows, maybe this could work" type stuff. Otherwise, you need to know what resource the system is calling for when you are getting that error.
