  1. ....and creating civil unions in place of equal right to marriage wasnt a spit in the face in the first place? "You cant be like us, because we dont like you. But here, you can have this lesser thing to further mark you apart, and you should be happy with it." ....yeah, whatever. Really equal, that. And machine? Someone else had a good point. People at one point voted for segregation laws, and other nasty, exclusionist, bigoted laws too. Just because 7,000,000+ people voted for it doesnt mean its a good law that should stand. The system is built the way it is so that if people vote something in and it doesnt work, it can be fixed without using taxpayer money to hold another vote.
  2. Hellblinki. Couldn't find a good quality sound video. They're rather interesting, though.
  3. Humanwine. Another jaunty, cabaret style band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N91dtywkgIQ
  4. Saw these guys live while at ComicCon. The Unextraordinary Gentlemen.
  5. Steam Powered Giraffe. This is a live performance. They're... amusing, odd, and growing on me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6IQBlYPJoE
  6. The Clockwork Dolls. I with this track, I find it interesting they're considered steam fandom, because there's not much here that evokes victoriana imagery, dystopian futures, or neverwas history... but hey, they do sound pretty good.
  7. The Cog is Dead. I find this amusing.
  8. Unwoman! Reminiscent of Emilie Autumn, but I find her voice a LOT less grating than Emilie's.
  9. These guys are actually local to me. Not my favorite of theirs, but the only one that wasn't a live video. Ukelele Loki and The Gadabout Orchestra.
  10. Vernian Process. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=at9k5ZQsgMQ
  11. Dr. Steel! This dude is decidedly more electronic. BUILD THE ROBOTS! TOY SOLDIERS UNITE!
  12. Finding more and more bands that are either being classified as Steampunk, or are loved by Steamfolks. This seems to cover styles that range from actual punk, to bubbly cabaret, to electronic stuff with a 'vintage' bent to it.... Post em as you find em. I'll be doing this for the next hour, I have a feeling.... First, Abney Park, of course.
  13. A family member is learning that it takes quite awhile for them to get you out of your house. If they send you things looking to make refinancing/settlement with you, express interest, even if youre not sending the paperwork in to actually do it. It extends the amount of time you can be in there, as each one takes time they have to give you to make a decision, something like 3 mos every time. Once they come upon their last offers and schedule the sale, they still have to give you something like 6 mos after it sells to kick you out. This family member had to stop paying a few months ago and declare bankruptcy, and are finding it will be next March or April before they have to go. At worst, it may give you time to find work again and perhaps salvage the house. They were also told that if it goes to sale/auction, they have to be offered first chance at it.
  14. I like Japanese, and took a few semesters of it... need to get back to that someday. May also take German.
  15. Depends on what youre getting it for. If youre looking for simple storage for lots of files (and need your library to be portable), external is fine, but if youre looking to use whats on the drive often, and its some sort of executable, or a file that needs to "play" (like a movie), I'd go for internal. Reason being, your external drive will be limited to the rate of data flow dictated by its medium of hookup, for lack of a better word. USB, FireWire, etc. However, one of those Ethernet docking thingies wouldnt be bad, as information rate of flow on that would be rather good.
  16. Like i had a tonsillectomy 2 days ago.
  17. San Diego Comic-Con was amazing! I feel I am finally getting my energy back.
  18. Makes me think of my aunt and uncle. They fuck their own family over for money, why not a lender?
  19. Communication achieved. FINALLY.
