  1. That's the whole point of this thread. People advocating that behaviour. Posting pictures just to piss off a whole religion. In this case, it's not you alone, its the entire support for anything even like that. That its ok to do it just because you dont get why people think its horridly rude.
  2. I think youre missing the point. No one really gets a "pass" for religion. Does showing even just a little bit of cultural sensitivity seem like a "pass" to you? The same sort of cultural bias you're showing is often what gets us as a nation in trouble with other nations. Much of your arguement here is very ethnocentric. You show disdain for something you don't really understand, and seem to be making the arguement that because you don't believe the same thing and think it absurd, that it's ok to make fun of it and offend the person engaging in that behaviour. This kind of behaviour is boorish, and in poor taste. I'm not a big fan of Islam, myself, but I have enough respect for another's culture that I'm not going to go throwing pig guts or shoes at a mosque.
  3. Personally, I think insulting whole nations based on what a small radical fringe did is ignorant behaviour. Free speech is free speech. They have every right to say/do it. And I also have every right to call it tacky and tasteless, disagree with it and not participate in it.
  4. Personally, I dont completely lean one way or the other. I have opinions that coincide with both sides.
  5. ....wow. Your bias just about matches theirs. Just because someone can say or do whatever under the umbrella of free speech, doesnt mean its not tasteless and rude.
  6. ...not exactly. Communications companies benefit more from no regulation. And most companies already have bandwidth limits set on accounts. Read your fine print.
  7. Mainly I was referring to how many people point in this issue to the throttling of torrent traffic, saying that traffic management was an excuse, and that they really want to control what you do. It's not. If you were able to see the bandwidth abuses firsthand, you'd know better. I can't really say any more than that.
  8. It's very insulting and rude. I would take the better road, and just not engage in that kind of trashy behaviour altogether.
  9. Plus, i think that everyone's reaction to what Beck said was because it rambles and is difficult to make any sense of.
  10. The *idea* of net neutrality is sound... the problem is, everyone is taking an ideal, and using it to their advantage. I think placing transmissions under the FCC would be a mistake. I also think people who are paranoid that companies will give priority to certain transmissions over others are being unreasonable. Companies don't want to alienate their customer base. Now I know people will cite the court case over throttling P2P packets, but honestly? That's another issue altogether. Thats less a control of information flow issue, and more a network traffic issue. Before anyone wants to argue *that* one, I do actually have a clue on the legitimacy of the statement. It's not a crappy excuse.
