frustrated unheard depressed (nothing new and not related to anything that's happened) sort of ignored Edit: this is not because of anything that anyone has said, here on the board. ALL of the above is because of events that have taken place in my own life, or under the roof I live in (except the depression which is a product of my mind, in some way or another. )

i wish i could be Rx Ativan to calm the nerves in my legs so i can sleep better at night.. they were bothering me really badly all day yesterday.. i have a mild case of restless leg syndrome (syndromes are calls such because there is no set of symptoms/causes lol) which is ultimatly a missfiring of the nerves in the legs which often give the sensation that the leg is moving, when it isn't moving at all... when mine act up, i feel like i have the constant urge to move. i could move my legs til they are blue, and painful, the urge would still be there... so i took some last night and slept so good... nerves are still bothering me, but its not as bad... having this constant feeling of needing to move, and sometimes not being able to control the urge to move my legs is VERY tiring... wares me out... I'm feeling better... on a much lighter note... my hairless wonder is now sporting his red sweater again, and I can tell he thinks he feels ridiculous, though it looks really good lol I'm more worried about Bones making fun of him. (Yes, i have a cat named Bones... and not because its totally goth name, its because I named him after the show I love so much.. lol... yes.. I named him after the show "Bones")... so yeah... lol

The Link (Clicky Here) The Scoop Who knew everything from jewelry to cell phones can cause pimples? Waking up to a blazing red zit can turn your day (or even week) into a game of cover up. Even when you wash your face twice a day with potent cleansers and sloughers, you can still wind up looking like you've lost a battle with a red marker. We talked to Dr. Fredric Brandt about unexpected complexion saboteurs. Phones The next time you're chatting it up with whomever, don't forget to hang up and wipe down! Dr. Brandt recommends wiping your phone clean with an anti-bacterial or alcohol towelette every other day. "Some office items like keyboards, coffee mugs, telephones are dirtier than toilets," says Dr. Brandt. Plus, a recent study shows the nickel content in some cell phones can cause an acne-like rash known as "mobile phone dermatitis." Makeup Tools You may be dusting powder onto a freshly cleansed face, but that still doesn't stop bacteria and other zit-causing grime (ick!) from sticking to your brushes and sponge applicators. Wash your makeup tools once a week with baby shampoo to help prevent brush-induced blemishes. If you already have acne, Dr. Brandt recommends cleaning even more often to keep the bacteria away. Hands "We do not realize everything we touch throughout the day," says Dr. Brandt. "Money, handles, pens, the steering wheel. So it's extremely important to wash our hands!" Bottom line: Keep your hands away from your face. And that means no resting your chin in your hand or picking current outbreaks. Antibacterials Sure, it sounds like a swell idea to douse skin with germ-killing serum or lotion to prevent acne. Wrong. Put down the anti-bac unless you've actually got a breakout! "The more antimicrobial ingredients you use, the greater your chances of creating resistant strains," says Dr. Brandt. "We are facing that problem now with the overuse of antibiotics." Jewelry If you've got a case of chest-ne, don't scrub your decollete and slather on the drying lotion. You may be allergic to that fabulous piece of costume jewelry you wore last night - or even your latest floral spritz. Dr. Brandt notes that many women have metal and fragrance allergies that can cause breakouts. Your Diet Aqua, water, H2o. Whatever you call it, drink lots of it. "Drinking plenty of water will help your skin look its best," says Dr. Brandt, who recommends going light on the fatty, fried foods and soda. A Hershey bar isn't going to be the sole cause of Mt. Fuji on your face, but too many fries can take a toll over time. Pillows Before you say "sweet dreams," think about the last time you changed your pillowcase! "We sleep with millions of microorganisms – we are never alone," says Dr. Brandt. Refresh your pillow at least twice a week if you are especially acne prone. "The micro-environment created between your skin and the surface of the pillow is great for bacterial growth." Towels Pillowcases aren't the only linens to consider. Check out the rest of your trousseau. Using a wash cloth or towel more than once can foster bacteria growth, particularly for those with constant breakouts. Like pillows, it's best to use white cotton and clean them in bleach to kill any lingering bacteria, adds Dr. Brandt. Plus! We track a popular acne treatment's many reported ties to birth defects, depression and bowel disease.

Earhart's Final Resting Place Believed Found Oct. 23, 2009 -- Legendary aviatrix Amelia Earhart mostly likely died on an uninhabited tropical island in the southwestern Pacific republic of Kiribati, according to researchers at The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery (TIGHAR). Tall, slender, blonde and brave, Earhart disappeared while flying over the Pacific Ocean on July 2, 1937 in a record attempt to fly around the world at the equator. Her final resting place has long been a mystery. For years, Richard Gillespie, TIGHAR's executive director and author of the book "Finding Amelia," and his crew have been searching the Nikumaroro island for evidence of Earhart. A tiny coral atoll, Nikumaroro was some 300 miles southeast of Earhart's target destination, Howland Island. A number of artifacts recovered by TIGHAR would suggest that Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, made a forced landing on the island's smooth, flat coral reef. According to Gillespie, who is set to embark on a new $500,000 Nikumaroro expedition next summer, the two became castaways and eventually died there. "We know that in 1940 British Colonial Service officer Gerald Gallagher recovered a partial skeleton of a castaway on Nikumaroro. Unfortunately, those bones have now been lost," Gillespie said. The archival record by Gallagher suggests that the bones were found in a remote area of the island, in a place that was unlikely to have been seen during an aerial search.

if someone lives in/near Ann Arbor (I live between Ann Arbor and Brighton) and will take me out of the kindness of their heart, I'd love to go. (I know I've already said so, i just didn't realize the location would be so far away lol) I've been told i have pretty eyes (I'm asked all the time if i wear contacts) they aren't spectacular, but they are pretty lol but any part of my face you'd like to shoot, feel free. lol I hope i can go. ^_^ -
So here's the thing. I know advice is usually given per person, based on who they are, how much you know about them, ect ect... BUT there isn't a thread on here (to the best of my knowledge, because I did a search before I posted this) for giving generic advice. Girls and guys can participate. I reckon this can be advice you give yourself, or to others who might date you, or things you have learned over the ages about the opposite sex, or even your own sex (and i mean gender, sillies) that you hate that they do/you do, or love that they do/you do. SO with all that being said, what advice would you give someone, as far as relationships go? You can even give an scenario and then advice you'd give that person in response to that scenario. I'll post mine at a later date so that others can have a chance to post, and also it will give me time to get all mine together lol... Have fun folks, and don't beat each other up for what they say. This is what you would give as far as advice. Not what you think others want to hear. SO play nice, keep your hands to yourself.... asking someone to clarify what they mean is totally different than saying that their advice is dumb. Everyone's had their own experiences in live, so no advice will be the same as someone else's.

Where does your "look" come from?
GothicRavenGoddess replied to Raev's topic in Fashion, Beauty and Costume.
well, considering i was a tomboy growing up... yeah, it started there.. all with a pair of male boardshorts with oranges, neon greens, yellows... and the base color was black... i was three... that was my first "goth" article of clothing. LOL I liked the usual thing that kids like, growing up, simply because kids in my time (yeah, i know its not that long ago, sillies, but think about it) didn't really have all that variation in their wardrobe. generic pants when its cold, generic shorts when its warm... and the same goes with shirts. the most crazy thing i had that was "out there" was a pale pink parka, when i was around five.. and that's only because the purple one wouldn't have been warm enough (purple was actually my favorite color, as well as red.. and red was usually a boy's color for some reason), and mom wouldn't let me pick from the boy's coats lol when i started being able to pick my own clothes, when we went shopping, it started to get more girly... but i still preferred darker colors for the most part.. and sadly, in coordinating colors.... like: light green shorts if my shirt had light green stripes on them... i dressed like a little old man, when i was in middle school.. LOL in 8th grade, i became "goth" or as many people often refered to me as "that freak over there". I dunno how or why or whatever, but my lipstick got darker, my clothes turned black.. and i have no idea how, because I'd NEVER seen someone wear what i wore, or wear their makeup like i did, or any of that... I just loved the look and its evolved over the years.. granted those are short years, but years none the less... right now, i'm more of a "goth who can't afford anything 'goth' " right now... can't afford the clothing I like... so... walmart it is LOL they have some nice clothing there, but none that i can really wear... can't wear the cute stuff, i'm too old/big... don't want to wear the more adult stuff, because 40 year old corprate woman just isn't my style (it looks good, but not me)... and everything's just so... vibrant! i like colors, but i don't want to look like an upholstered couch lol or a tent, or a 90 year old woman.. or even a 40 year old woman. I can go for 30ish, but I'm still 23... LOL (and no, i don't like the teeny stuff... well.. some of it, i guess, but I can't wear it anyway, because of my boobs and tummy LOL) in my wardrobe, right now, i have a pair of tan slacks, a brown shirt to match.... some black pants, some red shirts... some sweaters and that's pretty much it. lol also, a couple skirts.. one i made is white.. had a Spanish red skirt but the fabric is older than I am, and is too delicate to wear anymore... i've ripped it. :( A friend of mine calls me a "Gothic gypsy" i don't know if that's accurate or not. i suppose it is, based on what i've worn around him, but yeah.. who knows... i love layers, even if they don't match... ones that hug my boobs and flow off my hips... i love a good pair of pants, and warm shirts.. my most popular article of clothing are my tank-tops and my skirts.... and a pair of sweat pants ok, so i don't think that answered the question, but it did give a glimpse into my closet LOL enjoy. (I feel like i just wrote a small essay. LOL) -
i am thinking that i have an old old old picture of Slogo.... I found it in my bathroom the other day. I dunno how it got there, or why it was there in the first place... or even where it came from.. I didn't even know Slogo back when that picture was taken... Though he is awfully pretty with long hair... lol

Actually, if I remember correctly, it WAS on one of those talk shows.... ugh i can't get over it... everyone thought that couple that had the sets of twins where one was black the other white (and it happened a second time, when they had another set of twins several years later) was because of cheating, but all four girls are the woman's husband's kids.... but this.. this takes the cake... I read somewhere that she'd have had to done the nasty within hours of each person, in order for the conception to be so close... i can't get over people... *sigh* pregnant again, too (at the time this article was written...) ugh
