I am terrified... My room mate called Ethan's phone. I dunno when, because it was dead, and we were doing some volunteering at The Hayloft... anyways... My cat.. Ryuu.. the love of my life... my fur-baby that means everything to me.. and he's only two... she said that he's got a hole in his throat about the size of a dime ( i don't believe its that big, because she says he's acting fine, but I'm still scared, none the less) she said "if he's going to the vet tomorrow, you've got to come home and help make some money. I hate to do that to you but we have no money" if you know her or about her, you can only guess what that means... which pisses me off to no end. I have maybe $10 to my name, if that. I'm so scared right now. I'm exhausted but my tummy's in knots and I feel like shit. I'm still at Ethan's. I haven't been home yet to assess the situation. I want to be there for my cat... I'm so scared right now. I have no money, and no way of getting any in the next 24 hours.... if anyone.. anyone can help, please... I'm begging you. He's my child, at least, in my heart.. this is the worst feeling ever. I feel so helpless right now... I don't know what to do!!! :

thanks, darling! Well, one day, if I'm able to, I'll wear it to city club... just gotta get the cash and the gas money to go. :biggrin those of you going to the wedding on sunday will get to see it, though I'll be wearing a more appropriate attire under it. lol a red shirt and black pants. -
wait, your gonna masterbate AFTER a shower? why not during? LOL as for me? finish my food, take a shower.. maybe some other things too... brush my hair, get some clothes together to be washed, and sit down and read another Sookie Stackhouse book. They really are good... though, I'm reading them out of order, sadly. *sigh* beggers can't be choosy, I suppose.

I am bumping this thread to show you something else I have made: Here's the design: Here's the actual dress: (sorry about the quality... I will be getting better pics as soon as I can!!) in reality, the dress looks almost identical to the design. The purple in the second pic is a long dress I put under the over dress, so it could be seen better.... The over dress is completely see-through, so wearing something under it is a must. If I were smaller, I could get away with wearing something like a tube top, and boy shorts LOL But I won't make you suffer at the sight of me in that LOL (though a tank top and boyshorts looks cute on me, i feel good in it, but I know some who'd dissagree in a very rude manner...- er, not on here, that's not what I meant LOL) anyways... so yeah. I'm very happy with the design, and the outcome. I lined all the seams with a very sheer dark blue ribbon, so the corners on the sleeves curled a little, because the fabric stretched. But I don't mind that. it gives it character. the front is slit open from under the bust, to the floor. My pattern, believe it or not, was an altered shirt I'd taken apart. I cut out paper pieces to pin to the shirt to make the shirt larger, and used a small ribbon pinned to the fabric, to get the length of the over all dress... It was a pain in the ass, but was well worth it! Edit and Update: Since Msterbeau took a very.. um... lovely picture of me at the wedding, I figure I'd post a sort of better shot of the dress I made lol Enjoy. -

@ Jynxxxy as for me: more aware of my weight, everyday. I mopped the other day and my back was killing me... I'm not gaining, but I'm not losing either... *sigh* its just frustrating. I just want to be normal again.. and by normal, I mean without PCOS... *sigh* getting annoyed at my cat. I know he means well, but his wubbying freaking hurts! >.< really tired. I slept like shit last night, and feel like shit today... ugh my tattoo is driving me mad! it itches so bad! on the upside of everything, DFN had an interview today, so fingers are crossed... and also!!!! I have finished my dress!!! ^_^ I'm gonna put a nightie under it and take a pic so the details can be seen.... lol it will suck though.. just a webcam. oh well. I feel accomplished. and that's the important thing.

if i had someone to exercise with, that'd be awesome. I'm too self conscious to do it around the oposite sex. I guess its easier, when your exercise partner can relate to you, better, have similar goals, and won't let you wimp out... plus, me being flabby, I'd feel more comfy around another female who is also a bit flabby LOL i love to exercise, and I'm still quite active (I have a mild form form of restless leg, and exercise and stretching seem to be the only thing that seems to help me sleep at night - seeing as it is at its worst, when I'm trying to go to sleep/over tired) so being lazy isn't an issue, because I'm not. so anyways... yeah... Good job everyone. I've kinda hit a plateau... not losing, not gaining.. but at least I'm not gaining! lol ^_^

GothicRavenGoddess replied to phee's topic in Movies, Books, Art, TV, Gaming and Computers
i read somewhere that it wasn't an actual horror film, and that the title was misleading. The trailer on Hulu shows him and her having sex.. all you see is his back and no ass, and her moaning... he's an amazing actor, but I could have gone my whole life without seeing that image in my head... I'd rather see him as a woman, like in the Boondock Saints, than that LOL But I have mixed feelings about the movie itself. I think I'll wait for it to become available online and check it out. If I like it, or don't, I'll let ya know LOL *ponders* -

I really hope that this dog lives in warm climates... I don't think its right to take off most of the animal's hair for the sake of getting a good design..... these competitions aren't held just during the summer, either.... poor dog... *sigh* -
A world first: Vaccine helps prevent HIV infection By MARILYNN MARCHIONE and MICHAEL CASEY, Associated Press Writers Marilynn Marchione And Michael Casey, Associated Press Writers – Thu Sep 24, 3:27 am ET BANGKOK – For the first time, an experimental vaccine has prevented infection with the AIDS virus, a watershed event in the deadly epidemic and a surprising result. Recent failures led many scientists to think such a vaccine might never be possible. The vaccine cut the risk of becoming infected with HIV by more than 31 percent in the world's largest AIDS vaccine trial of more than 16,000 volunteers in Thailand, researchers announced Thursday in Bangkok. Even though the benefit is modest, "it's the first evidence that we could have a safe and effective preventive vaccine," Col. Jerome Kim said in a telephone interview. He helped lead the study for the U.S. Army, which sponsored it with the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. The institute's director, Dr. Anthony Fauci, warned that this is "not the end of the road," but said he was surprised and very pleased by the outcome. "It gives me cautious optimism about the possibility of improving this result" and developing a more effective AIDS vaccine, Fauci said in a telephone interview. "This is something that we can do." Even a marginally helpful vaccine could have a big impact. Every day, 7,500 people worldwide are newly infected with HIV; 2 million died of AIDS in 2007, the U.N. agency UNAIDS estimates. "Today marks an historic milestone," said Mitchell Warren, executive director of the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition, an international group that has worked toward developing a vaccine. "It will take time and resources to fully analyze and understand the data, but there is little doubt that this finding will energize and redirect the AIDS vaccine field," he said in a statement. The Thailand Ministry of Public Health conducted the study, which used strains of HIV common in Thailand. Whether such a vaccine would work against other strains in the U.S., Africa or elsewhere in the world is unknown, scientists stressed. "This is a scientific breakthrough," Thai Health Minister Witthaya Kaewparadai told a news conference in Bangkok. "For the first time ever there is evidence that HIV vaccine has preventative efficacy." The study actually tested a two-vaccine combo in a "prime-boost" approach, where the first one primes the immune system to attack HIV and the second one strengthens the response. They are ALVAC, from Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccine division of French drugmaker Sanofi-Aventis; and AIDSVAX, originally developed by VaxGen Inc. and now held by Global Solutions for Infectious Diseases, a nonprofit founded by some former VaxGen employees. ALVAC uses canarypox, a bird virus altered so it can't cause human disease, to ferry synthetic versions of three HIV genes into the body. AIDSVAX contains a genetically engineered version of a protein on HIV's surface. The vaccines are not made from whole virus — dead or alive — and cannot cause HIV. Neither vaccine in the study prevented HIV infection when tested individually in earlier trials, and dozens of scientists had called the new one futile when it began in 2003. "I really didn't have high hopes at all that we would see a positive result," Fauci confessed. The results proved the skeptics wrong. "The combination is stronger than each of the individual members," said the Army's Kim, a physician who manages the Army's HIV vaccine program. The study tested the combo in HIV-negative Thai men and women ages 18 to 30 at average risk of becoming infected. Half received four "priming" doses of ALVAC and two "boost" doses of AIDSVAX over six months. The others received dummy shots. No one knew who got what until the study ended. All were given condoms, counseling and treatment for any sexually transmitted infections, and were tested every six months for HIV. Any who became infected were given free treatment with antiviral medicines. Participants were followed for three years after vaccination ended. Results: New infections occurred in 51 of the 8,197 given vaccine and in 74 of the 8,198 who received dummy shots. That worked out to a 31 percent lower risk of infection for the vaccine group. The vaccine had no effect on levels of HIV in the blood of those who did become infected. That had been another goal of the study — seeing whether the vaccine could limit damage to the immune system and help keep infected people from developing full-blown AIDS. That result is "one of the most important and intriguing findings of this trial," Fauci said. It suggests that the signs scientists have been using to gauge whether a vaccine was actually giving protection may not be valid. "It is conceivable that we haven't even identified yet" what really shows immunity, which is both "important and humbling" after decades of vaccine research, Fauci said. Details of the $105 million study will be given at a vaccine conference in Paris in October. This is the third big vaccine trial since 1983, when HIV was identified as the cause of AIDS. In 2007, Merck & Co. stopped a study of its experimental vaccine after seeing it did not prevent HIV infection. Later analysis suggested the vaccine might even raise the risk of infection in certain men. The vaccine itself did not cause infection. In 2003, AIDSVAX flunked two large trials — the first late-stage tests of any AIDS vaccine at the time. It is unclear whether vaccine makers will seek to license the two-vaccine combo in Thailand. Before the trial began, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said other studies would be needed before the vaccine could be considered for U.S. licensing. Also unclear is whether Thai volunteers who received dummy shots will now be offered the vaccine. Researchers had said they would do so if the vaccine showed clear benefit — defined as reducing the risk of infection by at least 50 percent. Those issues, plus how to proceed with future studies, will be discussed among the governments, study sponsors and companies involved in the trial, Kim said. Scientists want to know how long will protection last, whether booster shots will be needed, and whether the vaccine helps prevent infection in gay men and injection drug users, since it was tested mostly in heterosexuals in the Thai trial. The study was done in Thailand because U.S. Army scientists did pivotal research in that country when the AIDS epidemic emerged there, isolating virus strains and providing genetic information on them to vaccine makers. The Thai government also strongly supported the idea of doing the study.

You are Energetic and Bright You view people with optimism. You have many meaningful relationships in your life. You had more conflict with your mother than your father. Your relationship with her was difficult and possibly unhealthy. You deal with stress in an effective and competent matter. You are able to remain calm. You are a natural multitasker. You enjoy being busy, even if the amount of things you need to do is overwhelming. The Inkblot Test Blogthings: Learn Something Surprising About Yourself My opinions: looks like two people dancing looks like a dog's face looks like a butterfly looks kinda like a hippo, standing on two legs, wearing a pink cape LOL so what's that really say about me? o.O LOL

Brenda! You RAWK!!! you rule, darlin' Thank you so much. Just lemme know when you need me to get it, and where to meet ya, ect.. I'll keep this posting bumped, in case someone is interested in the bed, or knows someone that is.......I wasn't gonna go into detail about the bed, but seeing how anything that's damaged or missing doesn't effect the overall functionality of the thing, I figure it be best that no one gets any surprises LOL I know that its mostly adults that post on here, and a bed that one has to climb up on, is less than desirable, but I'm sure that someone knows someone that might want it. -
like my room is over run with crap.. and that my bed is getting way too small... *sigh*

I have: A loft bed. The bottom "bunk" is actually an office area, and where I do my sewing.. the thing was worth up to $300 (in some stores, that is. I got no clue what the original owner paid for it), new, but its a cheapcycle find. so its second hand. The desk is damaged, because when the previous owner took the screws out, she missed some and the damn thing snapped. it works just fine, and I have a strip of black duckt tape to cover the raw edge of the break. a couple of the screws are missing from the lowest shelf that is suppose the be used to sit a computer tower on. I have all the washers, plus some. I'm not sure she knew what she was doing when she took it apart. lol Its easy to assemble once you get the two sides up and the bed support in place. It uses two different sized allen renches, which did not come with the bed (I'm sorry about that!!!) there are three surfaces total. (one upper, the desk, and one lower.) I'll take pictures once its cleaned off a bit better. My room's a total mess, since I messed up my wrist and have had to move my mattress to the floor. ALSO, the mattress. Its in wonderful condition, really comfy. I have a down pillow topper for it, that I may throw in as well. Loft bed has been sold. What I NEED!!!! is a FULL size mattress (if possible:!)with the frame and box spring. I don't have the room for anything bigger than a full size bed. my room's only9x10, and no closet, so one of my walls has shelves and stuff screwed to it lol a sort of "open closet" i guess... so I'm really limited on how big and where things can go in this matchbox of a room... (I also don't have any windows either) anyways. lemme know if anyone is interested. oh yeah, the bed's weight limit is 250lbs. If you want the bed, but don't have one to give me in return, we paid $80 for it, since it was damaged... and used... (we didn't know it was missing screws until we put it together) I'll ask $50 for it... or best offer.

damn, I wanted the bed as well. I have a single I need to get rid of. its in awesome condition, but its not big enough anymore. I need a full.... *sigh* oh well.. LOL if ANYONE wants to downgrade to a smaller bed, and would like to trade, lemme know!
