I am saying so many curse words right now! Garblegrumblemumble-poo!! Devo rocks, but I'm not paying that much to see them. That's downright outrageous! The only band I would pay that much to see is The Cure. I would say "F" Devo, but I can't, for I heart them too. **sigh** I guess you have to go where the money is.

Thank goodness, no! I've seen many a bits on TV, though, and its all a bunch of rot! I had a chance when I was in Mexico once many moons ago, but I vehemently refused to go. There was no way they were getting my money for that. Blagh! -

Holy crap! I can't believe he actually got up after that! WTF do they expect? They're out to kill each bull, and yet everyone is on the verge of being offended when the matador gets injured. I say the bull earned his life on this one, and should not have been killed. The bull won this one dammit! Bullfighting is the stupidest tradition in my ancestral line. -

By using your body, modifying your body, you can go into [different] states of consciousness and discover the true nature of life and yourself. -Fakir Musafar It is always by way of pain one arrives at pleasure. -Marquis de Sade Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair. & Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. -Kahlil Gibran God enters by a private door into every individual. -Ralph Waldo Emerson We must embrace pain and burn it as fuel for our journey.” -Kenji Miyazawa Suspension is freedom. It involves the act of letting go, of becoming one with the pain, and using it as a portal to go beyond what we typically think are the limits of our minds and bodies. For some people, indulging in ice cream, or fancy cars makes them feel free and like a kid again. For me, its when I’m swinging from a couple of hooks in my back. Though I have been fascinated with the act of suspension since childhood, I have only recently been able to cross over into the actual experience of it. My first time up, when I closed my eyes, I actually felt like I was flying. Phenomenal! So how can I learn more, and possibly do suspension, you say? I’m so glad you asked! We are lucky to have a wonderful group of people in our area who practice together under the name, Ritual Arisings. I have been to a couple of events thus far, and have a blast each time I go. I would love it if more of my friends could come and experience this with me. There is a fee for each type of suspension, but let me tell you, its bloody worth it! These guys/gals put their hearts and souls into this, and do it because they love it. The hooks, equipment, and other materials get expensive, so they have to charge. I have seen people charge more for way less. At the last event I attended, there was even someone who drove here from Chicago just to get on some hooks from Ritual! Please go to their MySpace and Facebook sites listed below, and “friends request” them if you are interested. They hold monthly events, which are for actual participants only. You are allowed to bring a friend for support if you are hanging, but as these events are not shows and held at private residences, they don’t want it turning into a big party hardy event. The next event is actually Sunday, June 27th, so if you’re interested, get moving on the friends requests! I’ll be there for sure! To connect with Ritual Arisings on both MySpace and Facebook: http://www.myspace.com/ritualarisings http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/ritual.arisings?ref=sgm To view the ad for the next event: http://events.myspace.com/Event/View/5051609 Good sites for exploring the beauty of suspensions, and other body modifications: http://www.suspension.org/ http://www.bmezine.com/ http://www.bodyplay.com/ http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Suspension If you have any other suspension/body mod sites you think would be helpful, please feel free to list them here. All private Ritual events are held in the area, so you will never have far to go. I will keep posting the new dates as they happen. I hope to see you at the next event!

It's almost here!! Woot! Just wanted to see who plans on going Friday to stay overnight. Buttfu#&k work is making me come in on Sunday at 7am to cover for someone, and no one will trade days with me. We're debating on whether or not to go on Friday night, or just go early Saturday and spend all day/night there. We have absolutely no gear yet, so we're weighing the pros/cons of buying stuff if we're not really going to use it. Actually, getting there bright and early Saturday morning sounds pretty cool so we can wake everyone up with some Chuck Norris love! lol -
You're test shoot photos are great! Love the location, and the model was fantastic! I can't wait to see what you come up with for the final shoot! If anyone can do this with Dave, I highly recommend it!!

Thank you!! When I heard this, I thought of "Fernando," too, lol! I'm not going to lie, there is something I like about Lady Gaga, and I think its her balls. I don't like her twiggy ass, I hate how she addresses herself in the third person, and her overall rip-off style makes me guffaw, but for some reason, I still dance to her at CC. lol Hmmmmmm, now I want to see her do a video with Jeffree Star......I think they would eat each other in the end, though lol http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9FIKs9UBGWs It will be interesting to see how Lady Gaga continues over the next few years. I feel like she's giving out the "goods" all at once, and there will be nowhere left to go with it all sooner than later. When the shock value wears off, where oh where will Lady gaga go?

Happy Birthday you handsome ol' badass!!

First of all, I'm so sorry you have to go through this. When people choose to leave, it's the ones who are still living in this world that need to deal with the pain, confusion, and loss of it all. There may be a "better place," there may not be. I say one can believe anything that makes them feel better. Unless the person dying left a note or something, we can never figure out the "why's" or "what ifs" of it all. We can ponder, and try to understand, but we need to realize that some things are just unanswerable. So I say, in the end, go with whatever makes you feel better. I lost one of my best friends 2 years ago last Thursday. She was gorgeous, intelligent, social, she had a great job, and could easily have been the envy of many people. The world was at her fingertips, and she still let it all go. She had issues with depression all of her life, and was diagnosed with MS the last year she was alive. She also had no impulse control, which was what made her both crazy fun, yet crazy dangerous. She was my partner in crime, and I miss her terribly. I'm still very sad, and pissed off about it, and I will always deal with the guilt of feeling like I wasn't there for her somehow. Ultimately, I know deep down inside that there was nothing I could do about it, as it was her choice, and her choice alone. What I hope you are able to get the person to see today, is that suicide is indeed a choice, and that no matter what, there was nothing they could have done differently to change Ari's mind. I still have no idea why my friend made her choice. Was it the MS, her depression, impulses, ultimate statement on life/view of the world, or all of them? I don't know, and I will never know. People live with mental illness everyday, and they deal with it all in different ways. For me, unless someone has absolutely no control over their life, such as in being a quadriplegic, or they are physically suffering some debilitating illness 99.9 percent of the time, its hard for me to be "ok" with suicide as an option. With mental illness, I realize the suffering can feel just as bad, but I also feel like there's an entire universe of solutions, and tools to try before someone ends it all. Whether cowardice, letting go, or something else, its a choice. A choice that they made. A choice that they had control over. And now its a choice that you and your friend have to struggle with, and make some sense out of it. It sounds like you have a positive perspective, and I know you can impart that on Ari's cousin today. Its definitely a struggle, but I think you will do well in guiding your old student onto a path of healing. :grouphug

City Club Poll for new night Sunday or Tuesday?

Many thanks to the Collective for trying to bring good things to the community. I look forward to going to this event wherever it is held. -
Rock on! Happy Birthday!!! I read about the party on FB, but you said no drugs. Tszuragaunt doesn't activate unless there's meth, 8 balls, snortie-snort, mowi-wowie, cookies and cream, or Bye Bye Birdies, so I'm sorry, but we will not be in attendance. lol Just kidding, of course lol We would love to come, but we'll be amidst the Steampunk Expo, family, and moving stuff. Hope its a blast!! You deserve it! . . . . . . . . . . Did you see that? I just ate your pizza!
