  1. Because dogs don't do this with a laser pointer. Lazerrrrrrrrrrrr
  2. Agree with all of that. If I don't have a goal weight I'm dead in the water. Now I'm working on keeping the daily journal to really identify patterns, and break the bad ones.
  3. Reading the People You'll See in Hell site, and getting Freaked Out. I'm so grateful not to be a complete fucking douchebag today. And grateful not to know any either! People scare me!
  4. That's incorrect. Britain has thousands of illegal immigrants, so does France and many many other European countries. US isn't the only place to go.
  5. I disagree, cats care, they just take a while to warm up to you. I like dogs, but they're a bit too clingy for me.
  6. I care, but I can't spend too much time on it or I'll become very depressed. If I have time to volunteer for things I give it to the people living here in my country first. If I have money to give I give it to charities that focus on people living here first. And I blame the media for assuming most american's don't want to know about tragedy overseas. I can only hope the governments of both China and Burma (although I know the Burmese govt. are having a hell of a time getting supplies) are able to take care of their people when these things happen. I would not be a good president because my foreign policy would always come a distant second to domestic policy.
  7. Ha, agreed. If you have the Money, and the time for the paperwork you can still get a visa, in terms of being a terrorist getting into this country, it isn't insurmountable. But the fruit pickers, housekeeping and janitorial staff aren't the ones flying planes into buildings. I don't think applications and background checks are stupid, but I think you can still get into this country with very bad intentions even with all that legwork.
  8. Cats. 1. You have to Earn their love, they don't just give it automatically in most cases. 2. They Purr, love that 3. They go to the bathroom in the same place every time goddess bless em! 4. No need to walk em, much less a damper on my social life than say a dog. 5. They're adorable 6. They have distinct attitudes. 7. They're small enough to sleep on my head without crushing me 8. If they lick me it's far less messy than if a dog does. 9. They're graceful 10. They land on their feet. Love cats!
  9. OMG SeaLab! Haven't seen that in a loooooong time. Wonder if you can rent that. Or maybe it's on YouTube or Comedy Central.
  10. Just because I don't agree with you, that doesn't mean I don't want to listen. Differing opinions help me to clarify and define my own, and force me to think in ways I wouldn't have before. I might be surprised by some of the responses to this and other threads, but hey, difference is good. :-)
  11. Deal breaker every time: Racism, Sexism, Ageism, lots of isms. Also men not interested in a lifetime of learning. I don't need Einstein, but I do need someone to explore the world with and if beer, pizza and one or two hobbies are your life, I'm not the one for you. Oh and they must love sex and feel it's a big part of any great relationship. And they gotta be interested in living near or in NYC. Negatives: Drugs of any kind Not interested in being somewhat physically fit, would be nice to have a like-minded person Obsessed with money Obsessed with power Obsessed with stuff in general Not big on nature Insensitivity Highly religious
  12. Rage against the Machine - Bulls on Parade - On Repeat
  13. Nugget says Hi-oooooo! Or rahter, I will freak you with my nuggets! No that doesn't sound right either LOL.

  14. That statement is based on your personal bias, not fact. Most muslims are overwhelmingly peaceful, just like christians and catholics. Living in NYC right after 9/11, I spoke to several muslims and they were Appalled at what happened and denounced the acts. However, this thread is not about muslims, it's about immigration.
  15. Yeah look at number 1. A great or complete devastation OR destruction. Mass Deportation qualifies as complete devastation. Are they doing this yet? No, I recognize that.
  16. I have no problem wanting terrorists out of your country, but using Sharia law as that basis is ridiculous. Sharia does Not support Jihad. As for swearing an oath to your country, like that's effective? I can swear an oath to the Muppets and still go and bomb whatever I want. It isn't a good solution. If you have proof someone is a terrorist or has ties to terrorism yes, get rid of them, but don't use Sharia law to do it. Muslims all over are being harassed (much like here after 9/11) Australia because of the PM's statements and that isn't fair. Holocausts start with ignorance and violence escalates from there. And I said Deportation holocaust, not the kill all of them variety.
  17. Here's a primer on Sharia Law, a system millions upon millions of peaceful muslims follow. Sharia Law Sharia (Arabic: شريعة transliteration: Šarīʿah) is the body of Islamic religious law. The term means "way" or "path to the water source"; it is the legal framework within which the public and some private aspects of life are regulated for those living in a legal system based on Islamic principles of jurisprudence and for Muslims living outside the domain. Sharia deals with many aspects of day-to-day life, including politics, economics, banking, business, contracts, family, sexuality, hygiene, and social issues. There is no strictly static set of laws of sharia. Sharia is more of a system of how law ought to serve humanity, a consensus of the unified spirit, based on the Qur'an (the religious text of Islam), hadith (sayings and doings of Muhammad and his companions), Ijma (consensus), Qiyas (reasoning by analogy) and centuries of debate, interpretation and precedent. Before the 19th century, legal theory was considered the domain of the traditional legal schools of thought. Most Sunni Muslims follow Hanafi, Hanbali, Maliki or Shafii, while most Shia Muslims follow the jaafari school of thought and are considered Twelvers.[1] Islamic law is now the most widely used religious law, and one of the three most common legal systems of the world alongside common law and civil law.[2] During the Islamic Golden Age, classical Islamic law had a fairly significant influence on the development of common law,[3] and also influenced the development of several civil law institutions.[4]
