  2. No more prosecutions, as long as people abide by the laws in the 14 states that allow medical marijuana use. ...if there's anyone in jail/prison for this, it'd be nice if they were released. not holding my breath on that one, though.
  3. *bump* ...was looking for info about a cruise mentioned in the Free Press yesterday (Devils & Dolls cruise in may 2010, featuring Genitorturers), and found out that Covenant, Funker Vogt and PanzerAG are doing this year's goth cruise.
  4. cheap perfume/cologne, especially when you can smell the alcohol carrier agent. and when the wearer douses themselves with it.
  5. an excerpt from the audio book version of World War Z. voice of Todd Wainio: Mark Hamill. NSFW language.
  6. speaking of Canada, there's an all-Canadian rockabilly band show at the Berkley Front (on 12 Mile west of Coolidge) this Saturday. The bands are The Greasemarkers, Burnin' Ethyl and The Silvertones.
  7. I was with my brother and my dad on the way back from Mexico one summer when, somewhere in Kentucky on I-71, a Corvette passed us somewhere well above 100 mph (we were doing about 75). About 5 or 6 seconds later, a Pantera went by us so fast that I can't even estimate its speed. The freeway went into a wide curve to the right and, when we came out of it, the 'Vette was reaching the top of the upward slope that we were just getting to. The Pantera was nowhere in sight.
  8. I thought the gordita was their funniest. they actually got people to buy something whose name translates as "fat little girl".
  9. The Alan Thicke Show! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTOBP-VjeZA
  10. the 1st thing I thought of when I saw the title of this thread was:
  11. I've had a great deal of contempt for the word "coping".
  12. I will almost certainly be going to this...but, given my schedule, it'll probably be a weekday when I do.
  13. Your City is Paris You are low key and elegant. You secretly believe you're the best, but you don't have to run around proving it to everyone. You live a simple life, but your life is anything but provincial or backwards. You are extremely cosmopolitan. Without trying to, you are always wearing the chicest clothes, reading the most interesting books, and eating the best tasting food. Many people try to imitate your style, but they fail miserably. There's no substitute for you. What's Your City? Blogthings: If Quizzes Are Outlawed, Only Outlaws Will Take Quizzes some - ok, most - of the description of me is dead fuckin' wrong - but they pretty much nailed the city. there's maybe 3 other places on earth I'd want to live in as much.
  14. You Fall for the Sensitive and Romantic Type You are a bit of an idealist when it comes to love, and you want to be with a partner who appreciates romance as much as you do. You know you've found your soulmate when you're with someone you'd die for. You believe in sacrificing everything for true love, if necessary. A simple "I love you," kiss, or even look can sweep you off your feet. You tend to get lost in the moment. You believe in happy endings, and you're looking for a prince or princess willing to ride off into the sunset with you. What Type Do You Fall For? Blogthings: We'll Tell You The Truth... Someone Has To!
  15. Time magazine is doing a yearlong series of reports on Detroit. In this week's installment, this test short (a "taster" for a full-length doc) was featured. It's 26 minutes long, but well worth the watch.
  16. I guess I'm the only one who thought that Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within was a really good movie.
  17. For China to open up copper mining operations in Afghanistan, evidently: http://worldblog.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2009/10/14/2098654.aspx
  18. the law banning Sunday alcohol sales before noon goes back to Prohibition. There won't be any additional permits needed for that, just for the later bar hours.
