Drew Barrymore, who's just directed a film about roller derby called "Whip It" that filmed in the Detroit area, is hosting a skating party at Bonaventure in FH this Friday, September 11 to promote said film.

this time it's the Chinese. the movie's set in Spokane, WA; the director's using Pontiac as a stand-in. Btw, I think the director's the guy who did the Bourne movies.

They're shooting on Saginaw St. north of M-59. That's 2 blocks west of Clutch Cargo's for those not too familiar with the area.

a good Monday club night is special. I remember big fun times at The Chamber at the Majestic back in the mid-'90s, and insane times at the Warehouse before that. At least I'm pretty sure it was the Warehouse, lol! Some place in the old Rivertown area, to be sure. Having said that, I'm betting Sunday will be the more popular choice here.

just checked my e-mail; there was a notice from the Landmark Main Art Theater about the movie World's Greatest Dad. It's written and directed by Bobcat Goldtwaith, and it stars Robin Williams. I hope their rent's really low. The idea of a fetish-only club is a good one in many respects, but I'm not sure it works as a business plan. Then again, I believe Space was only open one night a week, too. Different type of club to be sure, but they still had a pretty impressive run.

Campau in Hamtramck. 9/18 is opening night, and the DJs are Lady Pain, Jessica Rabbit...and DJ Saint. Isn't he a member here? Why am I doing this and not him?
