I'm playing a show tomorrow night (6/13/09) at Trixie's cafe. Gratiot 1/2 mile south of I-696. Show starts at 9PM. Since I'm also serving as host of the evening's festivities, I'll be going on both first and last. 2 sets for me (20-25 min each) around a single 40-45 minute set each by Dave Martin and Mike Galbraith (2 of my local faves). It's a themed show , the theme being each of us covering songs by other Detroit-area songwriters, in addition to playing our own stuff. Donation thingy in effect. Show should wrap up around 11:45 PM. NBC ran the tape about 3 minutes after it happened; not knowing just what it was that their afiliate had given them, they ran it unedited that one time. Incidentally, that was the guy the band Filter wrote, "Hey Man Nice Shot" about...not Kurt Cobain as has been rumored.

Come to think of it, Marshbanks Park (Hiller@Willow, on West Bloomfield's western edge) has free concerts on Friday evenings all summer long...or at least they did. Who knows what's going on with funding problems and all. Still, I'd check into it. Pontiac Trail east to Green Lake Rd north to Commerce Rd east to Hiller north. Fun park anyway, even if there's no beach.

this is what I got so far... 1) http://www.netgoth.org.uk/ has events from around the UK 2) the main goth club in London seems to be Slimelight. A former warehouse, it features several floors of music and dancing 'til 8 AM every weekend.
