  1. I remember a class assignment in 4th or 5th grade when we were asked what we'd be doing in 25 years. I wrote that I'd be a civil engineer (yes, I already knew what that was - very bookish child) in one of our colonies on Mars. Needless to say, that didn't happen.
  2. ^ now that's some serious boot love right there.

  6. this is me, March 31: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/13693417 my 3 newest songs, in order: this is your time (1st live performance) the other me (2nd live performance) she's a lot like you (2nd live performance) still kinda ragged, but my voice is somewhat more together than it was in the last video. enjoy.
  7. Every so often, there's a Steampunk Dance Party at the Phoenix Cafe in Hazel Park. The next one's on April 15, and there's another one on May 7. Doors are at 8, and the Phoenix is on John R just south of 10 Mile - east side of the street, a couple of doors down from what I'm told is an awesome Thai food joint. Entrance and parking is at the back. No idea what admission may be.

  13. this is me, last Thursday night. http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/13388322 I show up about 28 minutes in with four songs, in order: she's a lot like you streets of gold shame fall too fast pretty ragged performance, but there's a fragility to it that I find nice, so I can live with it. other than shame, none of these have been performed much; this is she's a lot like you's 1st performance, and streets of gold's 3rd. in addition, I hadn't done fall too fast live in at least 3 years. streets of gold was kinda sorta written with taysteewonderbunny...enough so that she gets a co-writing credit as far as I'm concerned. hopefully, your computer likes ustream better than mine does. the songs get kinda choppy on this laptop. enjoy.

  17. the state is going to lose a seat in the US House of Representatives; we're lucky it wasn't two. Sterling Heights' pop grew a couple of precent, I think. Or Asian population's really growing. I approve.
  18. yeah, so...census data for Detroit and the rest of Michigan is out. big drop. real big drop. Detroit's population fell by about 25%. Flint went from being the 4th largest city in the state to the 7th. Even Grand Rapids fell 3 or 4 percent, I believe. more info here: http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2011/03/22/census_detroits_population_plummets_25_percent/?p1=Well_MostPop_Emailed4
