  1. Not that one would guess. ... I confess a man has got to have dreams and fantasies. Well, don't they?
  2. mp3's. After dealing with the damned things when I was doing radio DJ way back when, 8-tracks and their broadcast equivalent of carts were a pain in the ass to work with. Vinyl and CDs were much better for me to cue. Special Edition Star Wars or Original Edition Star Wars?
  3. I confess I have a craving for a certain redheaded Scotswoman....

  5. A friend of mine stationed Pentagon Clinic was on duty that day, and when they got hit, everyone was taking leads from the medical staff to help with the injured. General officers were dropping rank to ask him what to do to help, allowing a army captain to order them around. I was about 10 linear miles at another post, and it took a 3-star to order those of us with medic backgrounds to evacuate area and not go and help. These people dealt with the harder hit of the two areas that day, put themselves voluntarily on the line to help in a circumstance outside their normal experience, and this is the thanks they get?! *headdesk* No good deed...
  6. Those have got to be the absolute worst renditions of the Vivaldi's Le Quattro Stagioni I have EVER heard. Allegro non molto means "fast, but not much," NOT "transwarp drive!" It is generally accepted 100 8th notes a minute beat is the right speed. You don't blitzkreig through Winter's first movement like I go through sushi, you pompous frakking ninnies! And what the hell is with the barking and wolfing of your instruments?! I have heard less harshness from a 5-year old playing the Suzuki Method! Who the F*** taught you to play?! I would try to make a comparison to some poor crippled animal, but that would insult the animal and the disability, because they could play better than you! Jascha Heifetz, Yehudi Menuhin, and Issac Stern must be rolling over in their graves when those are played. “I occasionally play works by contemporary composers and for two reasons. First to discourage the composer from writing any more and secondly to remind myself how much I appreciate Beethoven.” --Jascha Heifetz : “Music creates order out of chaos: for rhythm imposes unanimity upon the divergent, melody imposes continuity upon the disjointed, and harmony imposes compatibility upon the incongruous” --Isaac Stern :jaming: “Music is like making love: either all or nothing" --Isaac Stern ***Aside: As you can probably guess, I take my classical music VERY SERIOUSLY.***
  7. LIke running out in the middle of a lightning storm would probably be up there with Darwin Award-like activity for me.
  8. Compared to other I've seen on the request list? *shaking from Eldritch/Steinman withdrawals* In all seriousness, I wish I could make it out more than Saturday. Most of my Fridays are logistics/maintenance, so it takes some effort to get out on Friday. I wouldn't be able to make it either day. And it is pretty much the same through the rest of the week for me. Necto is like parting heaven and earth for me.
  9. Wore something similar for 8 years. They are speed lace eyelets on the calf part, from the picture. If you are going to wear them for quick on/quick off, they should be laced criss-crossed like normal shoelaces, and pulling on both ends will snap them shut. You are going to have extra length on the laces regardless, as they need to be long to accommodate the boot opening and closing with a wide enough throat to get your foot in quickly (especially necessary with heavy socks.) And Prick is right about the laces; you have to wrap them up around the top a couple of times to get them short enough to tie around. Another option, and I don't think it is available outside of standard military boots, is lacing zippers into the boots. I used them on a pair of jungle boots I rarely wear. Example here. I think the Air Force was the only service that would still allow you to wear zippers in the boots.
  10. Have to admit they had a high production value for what was put on the screen, considering science fiction can be a financial nightmare to produce.
  11. Someone infecting the computer that has the only data graphing tool I can use for publication with a frakking virus that won't even let you boot.
  12. Slowly cooling down as the HVAC system comes back online from tripped circuits, broken fan belts, and non-working coils.
  13. But passion for a purpose in life and a dream, that leads to a drive to succeed. Maybe you have and not realized it yet.
  14. I miss doing something that I love so much that I forgot it was a job...and working 16+ hour days with a smile on my face. And why the hell am I craving a Fuddrucker's 3/4lb burger and fries now?! Getting nostalgic of friends in other places? Don't know.
  15. What, no mention of my ribs and meatloaf? *mock angst* As for me, somewhere between aggravated and fuming...and only one thing will take care of it, and unfortunately, carnal pleasure isn't it.
  16. Damned mind-reader. Give her hardwiring to be totally into Hawaiian doctors, and I would be set. I will just keep a few Nexus 6 clones of myself in storage to transfer my mind into every few years. StormKnight the Immortal. *evil cackle*
  17. Come on. Please let me have this. Don't make me leave there.
