Good gods, it sounds like a Black Cat firecracker factory and warehouse is going up...or the world's longest string of firecrackers.

They have been blowing off M-80s and other fun types of boom devices here for the last two weeks. I can hear the sirens for the ambulances for the blown off body parts now.

We really need to get a cyberware GPS for you. Wish I was there on the weekends. Love what I'm doing during the week. Weekends are a bit quiet.

While the idea works in Potugal, I am not quite sure of how it would work here. The mindset for our country is at least one of Puritanical temperance for the most part. One way or the other we have to work within the current set of laws (or change them,) and our own country's mindset. I tend to be more data driven than legal/political driven. In counter, remember the Great Experiment of Prohibition. Didn't work too well. A more benign punishment than the long jail times for drug use/possession might be in order, which must include rehab if someone else gets injured by an intoxicated person. The only thing I can think of coming of Schedule I is marijuana, and even then, it will probably be not dropped more than Schedule II for the near future. And even that will have some warnings if the preliminary data is supported by more rigorous research that it does increase the risk of psychosis in predisposed people. The more rigorous research is still pending. Still good for pain. Mental conditions, not so much. I am on the fence to be quite honest. I have seen the nasty things with both legal and illegal drugs on people. Even benadryl can be abused in the right context. If the use involves harm towards a person aside from the user, all bets are off ("your rights end when your fist hits my nose," mindset.) But for the individual, I'm not sure.

Actually, I'm one of the two primary authors. The asterisk after our names should link to the phase "G.Y. and M.D. contributed equally to this article." We did a coin toss when we did who was going to be first with that in mind.

It is usually given as a drip, titrated to keep them at a certain responsiveness level. It can be used as the sole anesthesia agent, also as a drip, for those who can't handle the gases. For inducing anesthesia, it is given as a bolus to get one off to sleep quickly, and give the anesthesiologist time to get the breathing tube in, get the patient on a ventilator, and turn on the agent that will keep them asleep for the rest of the case. A bolus will last about 15 minutes. I discussed this in the MJ tragedy here.

Got it. Tour dates. How are things going with you and the tour?

Propofol is used for induction of general anesthesia, or an ICU sedation. It isn't narcotic based or a benzodiazepine like vailum. Basically what happens, someone gets a traumatic brain injury (TBI) the pressure in the brain case increases, causing brain damage. The damage control cells (migcroglia cells,) under pressure will release chemicals meant to bring in cells to help control damage, but also cause inflammation, increasing pressure. This causes a vicious circle that continues to increase pressure, worsening the brain injury. Propofol stops the cells from releasing the chemicals, keeping most of the inflammation chemicals in check, but allows cells to come in to take care of the damage. We have seen in in cells when the underlying membrane is stretched or it is put under pressure (strained.)
