In the opening sequence, the marauding turkey axe murderer hacks a helpless and exposed Pilgrim declaring, "Nice tits, BITCH!" It only gets worse from there. Eternal, I've found your Thanksgiving feature for 2011. Please be warned, the acting and script will result in DEEP HURTING. I give you.... THANKSKILLING http://www.youtube.c...h?v=WOjSRoxc6mg

Well, most words are (or have corresponding) audible sounds. But I understand your meaning: to you, "ouch" is merely an audible sound. If that is true, do you mean that no meaning inheres to "ouch?" Whenever you hear "ouch," do you inevitably inquire, "what? What do you mean, 'ouch?'" Or do you respond wanting to know what happened, what degree and what kind of injury occurred? I suppose if you are going to disqualify things as words because they are onomatopoeia, you will have to rescind the word status of a great many things I would consider words, such as: achoo, ahem, belch, blah, bubble, buzz, clang, crackle, drip, fizz, flutter, growl, gurgle, hiccup, itch, knock, meow, murmur, oink, plop, quack, rattle, screech, snort, twang, twiddle, ugh, vroom, whack, whip, yodel, and zip. What often begins as onomatopoeia becomes a word of greater and even multiple meanings. Some of our words with onomatopoeic origins aren't immediately recognizable as such. "Owl" supposedly began as "oollool," an imitation of its hoot. Similarly, from the exclamation, "ouch" we get its noun-form, "ouchie." Onomatopoeia are among some of the first words we teach children. The 'See and Say' tells us that "the cow says, 'Moo!'" What if your argument is that it's not properly onomatopoeia and just an exclamation? I say, "bah humbug," and I don't expect to have to explain myself. BTW, this is an interesting post. Thank you for making me stretch my brain.

I hate fb. I love all of you, but I got to tell ya, on fb, you are BORING. Fb is BORING. I've never spent so much time learning so little since high school. Really. I don't care that you sleep and poop and eat pizza. Those are all probably very good things necessary to your survival and I'm happy that you are taking care of yourself. But I'm realizing that, without appropriate context, like even the simple categorical context of the bulletin board with its myopic topic divisions (I just really like saying that more than it having any relevance: myopic topic divisions, myopic topic divisions, myopic topic divisions), everything seems inane, groundless. The death of your father ranks just below someone's newest acquisition in Farmville. I can't take it anymore. I've reread my posts, and, even for all their sincerity, they seem blase, vacant. So now I just stop in to see what events are posted. Fb sucks.

Wow. That's spot on to something I would do! Er, did. The damn thing was in my purse the whole time, but in a different pocket. My hubbie discovered it AFTER I sent friends in a tizzy looking for it at their houses, in their cars, etc. Ha ha! I guess I'm going to hell for that. -

Perhaps. Y'know? Just maybe. -
I confess, Black Jack, that I know how you feel. I have anxieties that increase in intensity and even make me physically ill-- incurring rashes, sinus symptoms, digestive disorders, headaches, muscle twitches, anxiety attacks inclusive of hyperactive perspiration and hyperventilation, muscle soreness and even cramping, sudden attacks of sleepiness, or even mild visual or auditory hallucinations in the worst and most prolonged cases, especially where mild sleep deprivation is an issue, and, in rare instances, dissociative episodes. While they are not specific to social interactions, because one of my deep-rooted fears is that I will be ostracized just for being me, whenever I share much of myself and my opinions, especially those I am most passionate about, I suffer a backlash of paranoia that causes me to withdraw. But I'm fighting it. BTW, I love the video you posted.

Wait, you don't remember what you said two posts prior to this? Whatever happened to "nothing else?"

Time Magazine's Person of the Year: Hitler
taysteewonderbunny replied to Destroit's topic in Other Stuff
I was going to ask you if you were sure that link didn't revisit all the people of the year in years past, because at one time, Hitler had a great deal of support in America. -

...my first attempt at sausage gravy and biscuits. I think I did fairly well. I cheated on the biscuits by using Bisquick, but I refrained from making the error of over-mixing/kneading and they came out exceedingly lovely, I think, for a box mix. Bacon grease makes a wonderful start for the gravy; this recipe is a keeper. Yet, I think that a more savory sausage versus the spicy one I used would improve the meal.

Yes, perhaps the ideas in the article needed to be voiced, but as is often the case in such articles, I wonder, why does the author stop there? It's easy to criticize something. I know; I do it all day (but silently). What does he propose in its place? On the dual assumption that conformity in some cases is beneficial and in others not, what are the characteristics of each general case? How can we minimize conformity in the destructive cases? [Like loss of agency typified by the inuring of city dwellers to the indigent or, in extreme cases, the German people to the plight of the Jews, etc.] That is what piques my interest. If we are going to be non-conformists (yeah, even together in highly similar ways), why, and to what end?

I think HRA's are an excellent supplement, but a highly inadequate substitute, for health insurance. But, I say that not knowing all the details. Are their limits on what your HRA will pay? What you have put forth makes it sound like you have a limit on what is being deposited annually. Does this mean that you can only draw on what you have accrued? If that is the case, what you have may be adequate for a generally healthy person to keep tabs on general health with check-ups and the like and, perhaps, visits for minor illnesses like a persistent cold or something, but with costs the way that they are, how much are you going to be set back by something as simple as a broken arm? My examples may be on the high end, since pins were needed in both cases, but the costs totaled out at $12,000 and $20,000 in the two cases that came up when I googled those estimates. I want to know, if you have an expensive condition, will they pay all the costs in the first year and then usurp your funds in future years to cover those expenditures if you have drained your accrual? What happens in the case of a chronic condition? Though I REALLY like the idea of having people shop around for non-emergency health services (how better to make people be responsible in receiving preventive care?), in the case of life-threatening conditions or those potentially resulting in permanent impairments, I think it unethical to force the patient to try to shop around, pitting costs against quality of care. It's enough concentrating on getting well without having to worry if better care will bankrupt the family. Edited to add: I found a better link for estimating the real costs of a broken arm, with and without surgery. Also edited for clarity.

You know, if your band name is age sensitive, you should probably give it up after a decade, yes?
