  1. Well, I said, "happy birthday," to you in person, but I think I should, even though much belated, say it here, too, just for the record. You just keep getting better every year. Happy birthday!
  2. I can see that. I also have a good number of friends on here who just live too far to see on a regular enough basis. I'm not much of a phone person, but I like to keep in touch. fb does that a little bit, but because there are no topic divisions, it's really hard to have anything that qualifies as a conversation. Additionally, fb is weird in that it hides posts from me. DGN is pretty dependable. No, I can't chat on it (though that would be nice) and people are on too irregularly to make PM's a timely thing (more like e-mail, in which case, why don't I just send an e-mail?). Still, it has it's charms. And, though, when I get really busy, I can't check it as much as I like, I hope it will be a part of my life for years to come.
  3. I remember! It's like someone had a nightmare inspired by Fizzgig of "The Dark Crystal" and wrote a plot around that damn puppet.
  4. When's the last time you were tested for tuberculosis? Shit sounds like consumption. lol. Seriously, though, get to a doctor.
  5. If it's just lust, it's completely understandable. And, yes, you deserve better than douchebags.
  6. WAAATE! Where de otha 4 go? U missen sum bewbs, motha kitteh!
  7. Thanks for input from someone actually affected by the hurricane. It's nice to have a reality check. And I love your handle.
  8. Hey! Yeah, I remember you. We didn't talk much, but I saw you there. Post more. Welcome to the board.
  9. Happy birthday! Hope you didn't have too many Jagerbombs. I am sorry--couldn't find you when we took off from the club last night. Well, actually, we never made it back toward the dance floor; you were probably there.
  10. I didn't think you drilling my rump last night was awkward at all. To the contrary, I finally realized my place in the world. I have never before felt so fulfilled.
  11. Long....and epic! Loved it. [i need more than one +1 votes each day. Five would be nice. That way I could "+1" two political posts, one clever wordplay, one catty remark, and one solid piece of advice, daily. That, I'd like.] Rather than the general business tax breaks, I'd like to see those cuts better directed so that they don't get abused. I think tax clemency for businesses should be directly related to the number of Americans they keep in their employ at salaries that can sustain a family.
  12. I'm pretty much gonna stick with what I wrote three years ago: And I'm going to add nearly raw filet mignon to the list. And I do mean nearly raw. There's now four steakhouses where I've specifically ordered it "very rare--black and blue" and sent the steak back because it was too done.
  13. No, I know that; I'm wondering why Indiana Jones theme was used three times as opposed to something else, like the Imperial March. That's all.
  14. It was TA. He even said so in the Pirates v. Ninjas thread. That man is on top of it, I'll tell ya. Anyway, robots v. zombies is a dumb idea. Robots aren't a food source for zombies, so zombies aren't a threat to robots and robots have no logical impetus to destroy anything that is a natural predator to the humans that are trying to overthrow them. Chances are that the robots developed the zombies to destroy humans without having themselves to expend undue energy. Duh. A better match-up is naturally replicating cyborgs (largely flesh with circuitry) v. reavers. Reavers both eat flesh and like to destroy personalities, especially those who establish order, so it's in their interest to attack cyborgs. Cyborgs would be disgusted by their anarchy. Much more likely scenario. And since reavers have the presence of mind to use technology, it's a considerably more interesting match-up.
  15. I actually miss Jacobson's. I didn't shop there, but I remember it being a really upscale store and I was in awe of it as a kid. Why don't we have Friendly's in Michigan anymore? They have them in rural New York and Ohio. I want a peanutty sundae and a hot dog served on grilled Texas toast. No one else probably remembers my favorite two fast food restaurants as a child: Burger Chef (the originator of the kids' meal) and Taco Grande (which predated Taco Bell and was BETTER, more like El Charro, if you've ever been there). Edit: I guess a few of you DO remember Burger Chef! My mom used to always shop at Chattam's grocery. She'd pass by a Farmer Jack and Kroger to get there. We'd buy the gallon tub of Velvet peanut butter and I would sneak grapes and green beans from the produce section. Mom used to come in with sheets and sheets of savings stamps she could trade in for household items. Pretty much all the grocery chains had similar schemes. A&P grocery stores are still going in some parts of the country, I think, but not here. It's also rare to find an IGA. F&M, Perry and Arbor drug stores used to be regular stops. Pace before it became Sam's Club: the original warehouse wholesaler. I don't miss it that much. Costco is awesome. I remember when Sears was an essential store before Meijer and Target and Walmart usurped most of their customers. Yeah, Sears is still around, but in a much lamer incarnation. And now, I will miss Borders; it's affiliates--not so much. Edit to add: I really miss Monty's, Trixie's, Roadrunner Inn (wasn't that the name? that's where I was heading in my profile pic), and Bittersweet. Even moreso now that Blair and Sean are both gone (Simon Bar Sinister knows who I mean).
  16. Yeah, a friend from my high school days (church connection--I had only two friends in my school and one was schizophrenic) showed up at my house for movie night last night. That was great! I haven't seen him since 1994.
  17. Usually it's because the freeways are too crowded, the airports are closed, and they themselves may lack money or transportation. The cost of gas and food in those affected regions typically skyrockets. They might also be too old or sick to move. And then some are just stupid.
