After years away I logged back on...where the he'll did everyone go?!?!

When you've been away from this site for years...also because the most action I get is spooning with my dog and I'm not the big spoon...

I just quit man...its not worth it anymore. Going through a divorce in the middle of a deployment doesn't help but whatever. It turns out I "never loved her" and did it "just for the money". That is why there is nothing in my savings, checking, or IRA anymore. I am not trying to put myself on a pedestal but I put up everything I had to marry my wife and take her daughter as my own and now I have my daughter taken away before I can adopt her and am deep into debt...I just don't understand what I have to do anymore because while I do want a happy wife I also do not enjoy living day after day walking on eggshells with threats hanging over my head. I think that there is a huge problem with the mentality people have towards dating now which is affecting marriages. I mean seriously...the amount of stupid rhetoric and cards and facebook posts are increasing but the divorce rate is higher...that's a problem...people are proclaiming they want things that for all intents and purposes are impossible to provide if you want both people to be happy.

Here in the middle east they are really taking up the slack in the soda drinking market...then again health isn't a craze here and, for reasons I can't understand, they don't force their own ideals or values on you here when it comes to this kinda thing. Insha'Allah mentality I guess. For my 2 cents I can say that banning this stuff is not the right answer...I'm gonna die with a smile on my face and that means that a Big Gulp full of Coca Cola is gonna be within arms reach of my corpse.

Oh god I am terribly sorry for not responding to this! Thank you. I am sorry but Uncle Sam has me on a terrible vacation and he forgot to send the internet along...just got on R&R so I have it now...just saw my first boob in 6 months too!

Man this is all funny until you end up in the middle east...now it is just depressing...

The dogs deserve this...they have for a long time now. As for spending on armor...well that is a lost cause. We get approved for everything by people that have never had boots on ground and sit behind a desk...their whole world is in paperwork. More armor wouldn't help anyways...new ROE and holding the President to OPSEC standards would help save more lives. Give us monuments it makes us and our working dogs feel better...at least it makes is seem like people almost care if we die or not.

Dude we always shower in the field...grab a solar shower and a cheap plastic curtain from wally world and just scrub up when you get free time. Just fill the shower at night so other people don't see...take care of yourself first. Now the showers here on deployment...ugh...the locals are nasty and crap in them all the time not to mention its cold as hell so I am buying the PX out of baby wipes...we don't get the same nice things as the Chairforce or the Navy idiots...

Do baby wipes count as bathing? If they do then 2 weeks max...if not then a month I think? The rest of my unit smells just as bad so nobody cares too much...

The thought of going home to my daughter. Being on deployment for 9 months or longer will get to you no matter what...but phone calls and internet make it a little better... Loved ones, junk food, and terrible copies of recent releases...that keeps me going. My daughter would kill me if I didn't come home in one piece...

Just not Obama...please not him... The one thing that really gets me is his treatment of the military. The cuts are in the wrong places and he doesn't care...soldeirs get shit on while civilian workers and high ranking officials make bank. Also, he didn't have shit to do with the mission to get Osama yet he played it up like he was god. He used the wars and that operation for political gain and really fucked up OPSEC. He tossed around information on live TV like crazy and it was information that can get soldiers killed. He uses us like a damn dog and pony show WAY TOO MUCH. I won't even get into his campaigns lawsuit against military voting rights...Oh I am SO SORRY that I am sometimes doing a job in another country that prevents me from physically being at a voting booth. And the times we had to "wait" for our pay because Washington couldn't act...we have families to take care of. I don't care what else he has done...he pissed on the military and we don't like getting pissed on. Don't like military operations and secrects? Fine...but fight it in a way that doesn't risk our lives. I HATE changing things for operations because someone couldn't shut their damn trap! I am about to leave for 9 months and I pray that I don't have a loose lipped suit running his stupid mouth over live TV while watching operational information just float around! I really do love NOT being killed because people know my frequencies and my location...there is a reason I can't even tell my mother where I will be, when I will be there, or even how many fucking rocks are around me...we already had that french poodle from Wikileaks try to kill us so please try not to help him with that.

Glad I am in Georgia...they let the businesses choose and they choose well. While the state government did try a smoking ban once it didn't work...it REALLY didn't work. However, from what I saw when I was back up by my college was that the major bars were no longer packed on the weekend and the really creepy one with a big patio now was full...on the patio not inside. Also, when you have to step outside of a hookah lounge or cigar bar to have a cigarette...something might be wrong there.

I have seen the teeth of those on deployment that didn't have any fluoride in their water...eeep! Not really sure what they really wanted to do but after hearing my Sgt talk about two teeth just crumbling when he bit a pop tart I find myself on the fence. And on the pig part of it...Michigan may not have it yet but GA does and people are FAR more afraid of the hogs than of the gators or the brown recluse. It sucks when you have your hunting weapon and then a far larger weapon to defend yourself from what you are not hunting. They may be going at it a little wrong but there is a good idea there...keep an eye on the damn things.

Yeah I found out that if you put "I hate ICP" as your status Facebook confuses that for "I fucking LOVE ICP" and floods you with adds...they just focus on key words. I should never have mentioned tampons in a status rant because they are now plugging up my screen!

Alot of the Guard or Reserve wings of the military are of the type that could operate off of a carrier but can't because they don't have one. It seems like it would cost more to base an air wing on a carrier but when the medical flights rotate from Wisconsin over to combat zones or to relief areas it costs a TON or route them from land base to land base. It does sound stupid but just because a base is landlocked it doesn't mean that the unit there operates purely in the state. As far as military actions go they save money using Guard or Reserve for some reason. It also would be a "used" carrier most likely so while they wouldn't get the new owners tax credit it would be nice for their first carrier.

I think the point people are missing here is that you are trying to blame a religion and not people. Given what people say about Christians in America you would think it would be perfectly acceptable to say the exact same thing about Muslims or Jews...but that is not the case. We are dealing with humans and you can go on and on about "well I met this person" or "I heard about this" or "but this happened in history sometime" but that needs to fucking stop. The one thing America could be chastised for is the fact that its legal system cushions people too much and our view of things tends to become warped. We think everything runs so smoothly outside of our country which is why we self hate America. Great...but go out there and see how the world works. In most places you may even get a choice for who gets you...the people, the government, the military, or the local police...assuming that they all get along in some countries would be the wrong assumption. Those guys, see and I am calling them fuckers this time...oops, can go on thinking like that for all I care. However, they need to take things into perspective, that whatever the hell they thank that they are able to do this, and move on with THEIR lives without trying to be unproductive waste piles that continue with the damn divisions like they are banners to be held up. Nobody really understands why that is the really messed up part. It started a few years ago with just a few small contracts but it has snowballed into this huge thing. It used to be soldiers everywhere on post...at every job. Now I gotta go to this civilian lady to get my finances done even though there is an Army job specifically for finance...the same goes for on post dining and the mail and damn near everything else. There will always be a few jobs that must remain civilian or that require a civilian present but this is not right. You are not naive and don't feel bad about it. You are not in the military so we understand that people outside of it, like you, don't really understand that well. So you can understand why we don't like suits making decisions for us...I would rather have a General and higher staff make decisions that affect us. Damn...I forgot to mention that Obama needs this on his track record. I don't care how many jobs he "created" he still crushed about 90,000 jobs AT LEAST! And that is sending 90,000+ people out into a job market that isn't very stable at all...
