  1. The cease fire was already broken...it was broken the moment a shell left the tube of an artillery piece...it was broken the moment a Libyan tank moved its treads forward. The cease fire is gone and so is the no-fly zone because IF that was any jet besides a French jet then it was a breach. If we are breaking regulations doing any of this I REALLY want to see what Gaddafi is guilty of. If this breaks down to a war then toss all of that out the window. There is no script and no regulations or creeds from another time can ever account for all that happens. It is not as cut and paste as we would like it which sucks...but that is how it is. Personally, I would have sat all night at a computer trying to program my missile to fly straight up Gaddafi's rancid sphincter.
  2. Also, think about the rebel capability to actually shoot down military aircraft. While handheld pieces are common it seems kinda weird that they would let Gaddafi and his forces blast away for weeks while all this time the had the power to fire back. What...did some guy just say "oh man dudes...I totally spaced on having this handheld surface-to-air missile when they were beating our forces to a bloody pulp...sorry" This whole situation just looks bad...I am making sure all of my gear is ready and I am really hoping that they can come up with some ballistic plates for my armor carrier...
  3. It doesn't matter what was in the no-fly zone on paper...paper doesn't work in a wartime situation especially one with all the weird stuff like this. Reports now are that a French jet took a hit...mostly because THAT took place over Tripoli which is NOT held by the rebels...not even close. French planes also fired the first shots signaling UN involvement and the 20 planes that were attacking were over Tripoli which again is not held by the rebels. Also, with the no-fly zone there were no other planes in the air besides the UN because you don't put your crappy airforce up against UN shit. It also doesn't matter what rules the no-fly zone has in place because when the country you impose it on breaks it AND the it's own damn cease fire after they declare no mercy on their own people do you REALLY think that conventional paper pushing of laws at them is going to work? No. They were moving large columns of armor, batteries of large artillery pieces, and were putting up radar bands that were no longer defensive in nature...yep I will put money on them not wanting to work things out or listen at that point...
  4. This is a result of what happens when daddy leaves his studio open when he leaves for work. It is the tendency that rich people have where they think that everyone will want to see them on TV and singing...nope... All of them look like the "new" Hot Topic or Zumies vomited on them after they all went to pick out random, similar looking tattoos that they would all get on identical body parts... She shoulda worked on this some more before releasing it...unless this was really the only way her friends would learn what day comes after Friday...and then learn that Sunday actually comes after Saturday...
  5. Here I can fix this very easily. Libyan government called a cease-fire before the no-fly zone to try and curb the slow moving UN. However, Libyan artillery continued to shell rebel towns 2 days after the "cease-fire" was imposed. Confirmed by Libyan and red-cross doctors as well as...well...it isn't too damn hard to tell when artillery is firing for those of you that don't know. The no-fly zone is NOT part of the American thing...those would be French planes and unless the rebels retook most of the capital city, which they didn't, then they were not the ones that shot the FRENCH plane down. OUR sorties are located elsewhere to ensure that no other countries join in...kinda like a fence. The missiles were launched in support of the rebels which include much of the former Libyan military. If you seem to think that we cannot launch missiles in support of allied troops during a no-fly zone you need to do a little bit more of that studying thing...we did not agree to the cease fire. Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the rebels in Libya have a government that has been recognized by the Arab nations and much of the UN...so for anyone that says we cannot be doing what we have done so far...WRONG!
  6. I don't know what other countries would hate us if we helped the resistance...in the talks most of the Arab nations were asking for us to help and for us to at least impose a no-fly zone. So, in this case if we were not in the Iraq Afghan thing this could be a real win for us...could be...
  7. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! 1. The Army is not paying anyone on the 1st of next month. 2. The Army has pulled our funding so our ancient, roach infested, no AC or heat, smells like dead cats barracks will not be fixed... 3. To thank us for being Airborne, but not really, we get to do a 12 mile road march in 4 hours or less on a tank testing trail that was closed because it was BREAKING TANKS! 4. I am out of chips and salsa...
  8. Already happened in South Carolina...I did my part and reminded the stripper that she should change her watch after we were done...
  9. Sorry...I was trying to think of something to say but all I can think of is him saying "I'm freezing my nuts off!" in Farce of the Penguins...hehehe
  10. I am still kinda torn...I don't want to get involved but oddly enough they seem to be begging for help...OUR help not just the UN because they know how the UN handles things. And I want to help but I don't know how we would help without getting too involved...as in troops and too much money. We would be blamed for simple and unnecessary yet constantly occurring innocent deaths and anything else that doesn't go according to "plan"...
  11. I don't know about Michigan...but in Wisconsin the teachers can afford it. They get issued cell phones and in some areas they "qualify" for a government vehicle. Looking at the parking lots I don't see people that are hurting for cash. They got pay adjustments a few years ago that were in the same bill that said those dudes that hold the "stop/slow" signs for the construction crews should be making $35 and hour...someone from my grade school class is doing that and he is pretty well off. I also know someone from another school that was on my little league team who is a teacher for the state...he drives a new Charger and saves the loaded Denali for when he comes to the bar...yeah poor teachers. As far as the poor people back home go...they tend to be at the bar more than I do and they seem to be dressed fairly well in those nice new white kicks so I don't know what to say there. Kids, otherwise known as children, have surpassed Hitler in being used in arguments. It seems that every bill is for the children...like no smoking in bars where children should not be in the first place...so once again I don't know what to really say about taxing them. I already gave them smoke free bars to attend and I was told that the many increases on the cigarette tax was for them so I can only hope they are doing well.
  12. There is a Whistle Blowers program in the military run by JAG. However, it has its own set of rules ACCORDING to UCMJ and other military and DOD regulations. AND...you have to go through the right channels otherwise your cause, no matter how noble, is going to land your ass in a sling. No you don't sign away your citizenship...but you are no longer a civilian which means you fall under different rules. Legal battles can be complete HELL considering location and all that crap. We have some changes that make things easier and slightly cheaper for us...and we have others that make hand-slapping crimes in the civilian world prison time in the military world. I can get someone from JAG in on this so they can explain...but when it comes to prosecution and such we live in a whole different universe than you do...especially when it comes to information crimes. MAYBE he had good intentions...MAYBE the information should be known...BUT since he was not authorized to release it and committed a huge crime in obtaining AND releasing it he did it wrong. Sticking by your personal morals does not excuse you from UCMJ. Even a minor information leak on accident by me could get me in serious trouble...that it why I think before I act. He didn't...now he pays...maybe you could just label his as a martyr because that is probably the best option right now...
  13. Well, we or should I say I do not want any more deployments than we already have. THAT is why I am concerned. I guess the Army times is giving us a bit more information here. Most of these countries are really messed up...in Libya the youth rebelled and a good portion of the military joined them. Now it is kinda a lopsided battle going on. The rebels are being pounded with everything from massive artillery to jets from a walled in city where the local laws have gone nuts...people being shot for being out past curfew. They called for a no-fly zone, the UN waited like usual, and France and the United States are supporting it while Russia opposes it. Egypt could cool down...however Libyan rebels are fleeing to Egypt and now there is worry over that. And then there are the other countries where the answer to the protests is rockets and those bullet things...
  14. I have been watching the protests, riots, and uprisings with interest now and I have come to realize that, well, there really is not talk about it compared to other things...like Charlie Sheen! Do you see any positives? Negatives? Anything? I just see too much of nothing when it comes to discussion on a topic I would have though would be somewhat hot. Personally, I am slightly disturbed by the UN once again acting slowly enough to prevent bad things from happening. I am also disturbed by the fact that Obama said "Sure!" when they UN mentioned troops might be needed. As if the Middle East wan't pissed of at us already NOW more of them are because "the West" failed them when we asked for help. Well, I guess the didn't all hate us...good thing we are fixing that one right there...a simple no-fly zone would have done the trick!
  15. It is not about the kind of information given away. The Army is prosecuting based on his actions...which were illegal and in the Army today information is golden and anyone that messes up with it is in for some serious shit. He is also under the thumb of the government...which DOES care about the type of information. He could have released a document that said poop stinks and the sky is blue but if those documents were de-classified, classified, or top-secret and he wasn't supposed to have access to them as a PFC then he would still go to prison...military prison...were you don't get all the wonders of a "normal" prison...
  16. Really hoping they pull me off the DomRep mission to go help out because I still haven't heard from my friends on the bases there...
  17. It't the military and while those rules do exist we have our own. We have ways of dealing with things like this without creating this mess. He could have gone through protected channels to...actually scratch that last one... This was de-classified information which to a civilian means for anyone to read...wrong. How the hell a PFC got a hold of the information I have no idea but considering that some if it was also still classified tells me that something illegal happened...which is even more of a reason to keep him in the slammer. We have different rules in UCMJ than the civilians to...in your world a certain crime would be just a warning while in my world they would take your pay, bust you down as low as possible, and would put you in a whole world of hurt which would include but would not be limited to extra duty...burning the shit is no longer as common but it can be arranged. He signed his life away...it's not really a joke he really did...so he truly is in the hands of the United States government which he fucked over...I'm not condoning or bashing his motives...and in releasing those files he pissed them off which was a really bad move. Obama agrees...he also agrees that G-Bay (as I like to call the terrorist prison) should stay open, and that not only will the Afghanistan and Iraq was continue but we may even expand into the many other countries that are blowing up (and that publicly asked for our help...yep...the turned to "the great satan" and said "HELP!" even though we know once we help the UN and the host country will deny everything, won't pay us back, and will blame us for something that started before we were there)... Sorry for the rant there but yeah...long story short he begged to play in the big boys playground and as soon as he committed a foul he wanted to go back inside and not face the music...NOT how it works...if it were a few years ago his feet would be swinging and he would have a wonderful rope hickey...
  18. I wouldn't leave him naked though...I would make him wear the "Tuggie", throw a horny Gorilla into the room, and put on some AC/DC...probably Money Talks... None of this would be video taped of course...I would just use the soundtrack to play to those children that they bring to prison to scare them straight and tell them "Remember to pull you head out of your ass before you act otherwise someone ELSE will put THEIR head up you ass!"
  19. Hey leave Wisconsin out of this...its the ASSHOLE of Wisconsin that is bitching...and the would be the capital city called Madison. Everyone knows that there is Madison, and then there is the rest of the state. They think they are the new San-Fran and we don't have our heads up our asses. THEY are protesting...nobody else is...if anyone would even CARE to look at what the actual people VOTED for they would see what is really up. Sorry but Wisconsin is misrepresented in this whole thing...for statistics we vote NO to the statewide smoking ban TWICE, we voted and polled to end the higher taxes for Harley and the other manufacturers, we voted this governor in and his ratings are still up, and we did show alot of support for the bill that was just signed. "But why are we hearing different?" Because those damn cameras never leave that capital...and people that are stupid enough to think that a 70% vote of NO for something really means that those people meant yes then why do you think they are going to be honest on this one? And these "underpaid" government workers can shut the hell up too...I work for the federal government and don't get paid NEARLY that well...I have seen WAY too many teachers rolling up to the schools in fully loaded Mercedes and BMW's which tells me they are getting paid just fine.
  20. Personally I would beat his ass if I were a guard...it's people like him that are ruining the face of the military. No it is NOT just because he turned over the documents either. He did something that goes against the oath you must take to enter...he tossed the honor right out of the window. Unquestioning service does not make you a damn robot but apparently this guy was...and the program that takes care of computing the results of his actions was blown the hell out. We have become too soft on those that commit crimes...I don't want him dead but I would drive him up the wall with pain for being such a dumbass! How the fuck did he ever make it through Basic Training?!?!
  21. No it is not moral. It works in movies, and it creates chaos in real life...or at least it creates a whole country full of poor hard working people instead of classes making it so bad that no matter how hard you work you will NEVER make it to a point where you could even be considered middle class...
  22. I don't know how people complain about corporations and then defend unions at the same time...its the same shit only one uses "defending working people" as a cover. I worked for a union for a year...twice they rallied to "help" us and it only ended in us still not getting what we wanted...but the union bosses did still enjoy all of the luxuries that they really don't need. And Wisconsin already tried to increase taxes on those "evil" corporations when the Democrats were in power. Yeah, that one worked out REALLY well...Harley Davidson had to shut down plants and kill jobs, Miller Brewing company threatened to leave the place that it has been since its existence which would have killed alot of jobs but instead they only killed a few hundred, Mercury Marine and its super cool union moved most of the jobs to another state so it didn't have to pay its workers as much, and Oshkosh Corp which bring in MILLIONS in government projects every year for military was almost driven out of the state... Fine, attack corporation but if you are going to risk losing all that income that keeps the state afloat and you don't seem to care about the people that are losing jobs...HOW DOES THAT HELP? HOW? Is bringing down some CEO's and a few people that abuse the system really worth that or is there another way to work things out?
  23. Due to my current employer I really don't know if I should make a comment indicating either way. However, I will say that changes are needed because that is a neutral statement. I just mentioned waiting because I can see a possible giant shit hitting the fan soon with would just add more problems to the ones we have. And even if I was positively interested...I am at Ft. Gordon in Georgia for the next 3 years unless my OCS packet goes through, and then I will spend 6 years somewhere else...so am face to face meeting is...unlikely, but depending on the context and my status of employment in the future that could change...
