To start with I am NOT accusing anyone of thinking this way at all...I am just looking for opinions or answers. Why is there so much indiscriminate hatred towards military members? I know that is a broad topic but I will try to expand. People call vets crazy bums when some of them are hard working and others, while technically crazy, have been through things that people should never have to go through. We are all called "baby killers" by those that seek to hate...even when the cast majority of us are not even in combat related positions and some have not even been in a real combat zone. Alot of my friends are having major trouble landing jobs in the outside because once the interview gets to military service the person asks if they have deployed and they say that the interviewers tone completely changes...and they don't get called back even when they are qualified. There is alot of talk of us being stupid hicks...when in reality the number of soldiers with college degrees is growing and many of the jobs require someone with smarts and skills. We only have ONE person in our company without a college degree...and he is a few months away from earning it. I am not really wallowing in self-pity and again I am NOT accusing anyone of saying or thinking this way but we were talking about it today after an incident off post when we were loading our equipment for the upcoming mission. A fairly large group of people were watching and people were yelling some very obscene shit. One lady asked us how many innocent people we were off to kill...when out mission is to the Dominican Republic to provide network communications and telephone services until a permanent system is set up...and I am going to provide generator power to the construction crews. It just makes me sad when I am on my way to help and am completely blasted by that...any input? Are we really that bad or is assumption a good defense against soldiers? We don't choose what we do...we are told and we get it done just like everyone else...kinda...

Wow people stop freaking out about this holy shit. 1. The cross-hairs COULD be intentional...do we know for a fact? NO! So unless you were there at the moment she made it and heard her say for sure then you are merely talking out of your ass now. 2. Cross-hairs on maps the probably the most common symbol you can find on a map. Hell, if you consider all of the different styles of cross-hairs of other sighting devices there are hundreds and alot of them are for friendly units! 3. The symbol for an Airmobile Supply Transport Unit does NOT look like a cross-hair...in fact it really looks stupid I don't know how the hell they came up with it. 4. Aviation(rotary wing)looks like a bow tie which is funny! 5. Seriously...this argument or whatever it is has gone super stupid...somebody shot somebody and we are blaming someone else that we don't like...it literally happens EVERY FUCKING DAY!

I wasn't really meant to be accurate...I went to college too and while I haven't shot someone I became alot more angry after having some professors teach me than I was before... But even before college my idea was to go to Washington, take them all out behind the building and shoot them...but with the cost of brass today that is just not going to happen...

Wow...I am finally realizing that the only thing colleges are really good for are making the mental problems and poor social skills of a future killer worse, pushing the professors political agendas in every class to create poorly educated activists with extreme bias that want to shoot people or just smoke weed...and a place to put all of the athletes that probably would shoot you if they know how to operate a gun. Gordon right now and in Augusta, GA you don't just get a life partner...you get an STD...so starting a conversation with "Hi I like you but do you have Herpes or anything?" is kinda a buzz kill for some girls...

I don't get what the big deal is...its like the smoking ban thing right? We all wanted to be safe so BAM we asked for increased security and here it is! Look at all the factors and you can see why it is going to be rough if we want our planes to be somewhat safe. Flying is a quick mode of transportation that is also dangerous if not everything goes right so if you want to go somewhere fast then expect some sort of trade off as far as comforts goes...like having someone touching your balls. Shit I don't hear the kids complaining about this at the schools when they have to go through security! I am not saying that it is right but its there and it can be easily dealt with...
