  1. where are you going to see DM? They aren't playing around here on this tour are they? for those thinking about the nin show you may want to go if you like the older stuff. he has been playing a lot of rarer tracks off of TDS (i do not want this, becoming, TDS, heresy), the piggy and closer remixes from that era, and even songs like "Last" and "i'm afraid of americans". he's doing different setlists every night but has said this is not a greatest hits tour, it's for the die hard fans which is a nice change. But with my luck i'll just see all songs i've already seen him do live before.
  2. that's too bad. the second show was the better performance. but at least what you saw was one of the rarer TG shows that not everyone will be able to see. i have a pretty good audio recording of their san fran set on mp3, and i believe it was the same setlist as the 10pm chicago show so if you'd like to hear what you missed out on let me know. it went something like: Very Friendly Persuasion Something Came Over Me Live Ray Hamburger Lady Almost A Kiss Springbankistan Endless Not What A Day Discipline
  3. did u guys go to both shows that night or just 1? i had a great time except for when i was standing in line outside during the downpour before show 1. briefly met the band. gen was a little freaky but peter christopherson was very very friendly and being a gigantic coil fan that made my night. this person has a good portion of the 10pm show up on youtube now: http://www.youtube.com/user/darewon
  4. i know you guys do your best and get some good live acts in the area, but i wasn't just thinking about this genre of music. a lot of bands just don't play here lately. from huge bands like the cure and radiohead, to smaller club shows such as ladytron/faint, nick cave, my bloody valentine, and even smaller bands who would play dive bars. and i guess i don't blame them with some of the crowd turnouts i have seen over the years. but i find myself going to chicago or toronto for shows more than i am going to them around here. and i can imagine when trying to book overseas acts with a very particular fanbase that there is a lot of money to be lost by the promoters. so thanks for getting anyone you can.
  5. damn i'd LOVE to be at this show, but i'm headed to chicago that night for a long weekend for the throbbing gristle shows. but somebody go to this gig and support em so that dethlab can get more artists like this out here.
  6. Laibach needs to come back here soon. 242 was great a few years ago too. and get die form while u are at it. i know i should choose some realistic domestic bands i want to see but i just can't think of any. And i don't understand at all why a show like ladytron/faint skips over detroit when they had an open day in between chicago and toronto. far too many bands skip this area and it's pretty sad. i'm assuming the areas promoters for shows like this have just dropped off over the past few years?
  7. i think i've seen them 5x now and that tour was my least favorite. i saw them at lollapalooza last summer and while the lighting and interactive video was great, i thought the show relied too much on that. the band just didn't have the same energy as the other times i had seen them. so i am actually looking forward to this more "stripped down" show.
  8. do both, they are 2 months apart. i'll be there. got the presale tix right up front. we were going to just go see fischerspooner at the majestic that night but i've never seen JA before so it should be fun although i'm not big on nins last few releases.
  9. just in case anyone missed out before they sold out there is a second show. I don't believe this has been "officially" announced yet but it is on sunday the 26th. tix and info are the same as the 25th show. they still have the vip passes etc for those interested @ ticketweb.com. i'm sure once they announce it they will sell out in a day like the others did.
  10. I'd recommend Neo on north clark street. i've spent a lot of time in chicago and always had a great time there on friday's and saturday's (which are both mostly industrial/synthpop/ebm/etc). had the pleasure of djing there as well which was an experience.
  11. for those thinking of going you may want to snag tickets soon. the $50 vip and $30 2 day passes both sold out in a couple days and the nyc show sold out already so chicago may not last long either. i'll be driving from ann arbor. cant wait.
