  1. Trying to relax enough to go to sleep. Failing the normal way, I may attempt to choke myself unconscious. Choked out is close enough for me, at this point.
  2. Just started Tolstoy's classic, War and Peace. Newer english translation as I don't speak or read russian. Also doubles as a handy way to deflect bullets, arrows and other small projectiles.
  3. Rio would be cool. It would certainly give me more opportunities to train. It's on the water, which I like a lot. Plus I could finally learn to surf.
  4. Exposure to hydroflouric acid. Though it's technically a weak acid, it's capable of etching and dissolving glass, along with a variety of metals and metallic-oxides. You won't always notice exposure, and it's capable of diffusing through your skin. It can cause heart attacks when it reacts to the calcium in your blood, but that's not the worst bit. It etches and weakens your bones, up to the point of making them gelatinous. The normal treatment in that case is amputation, assuming that they catch it. Oh, and the lower the concentration of the HF you're exposed to, the more severe the result tends to be.
  5. You're welcome to play Diablo with us. We're playing Diablo 1 + Hellfire expansion + theDark 5.3 mod right now (Hellfire and theDark can be found online). We'll probably switch over to D2 eventually, but I'm kinda enjoying reliving the glory days. You'll need a program called hamachi to access the VPN. We found after some difficulty that the newest version of hamachi doesn't play nice with D1's IPX lan interface. The version you'll need is 1.0.1.1. Assuming that you're running XP or Vista, you'll have to install the IPX network protocol for your network connections, and then disable IPX on all connections but hamachi. Otherwise Diablo will try to use one of the other connections. If you're still interested in playing despite all the setup it requires, PM me and I'll give you the network name and password.
  6. The URL has a bunch of extraneous "http:'s". I can do some of these. My brother can do more. Of course, he's 140lbs and I'm 250, so I guess that's alright. Get some gymnastic rings, build yourself some parallelettes and get going. Of course be careful about it, a lot of these have great potential for catastrophic failure.
  7. Just take deep breaths and repeat after me, "Correlation does not equal causation, correlation does not equal causation".
  8. If you lift, but don't eat more than maintenance, you won't gain mass, but you will gain strength. You just probably won't gain strength as fast as the guy eating above maintenance. Plus women don't have as much testosterone, so it's hard for them to get truly big without supplementation thereof. Actually, if you'd like to take this over to the weightlifting thread or to PM's, I'd be happy to continue the discussion. I think we've probably threadjacked this enough.
  9. Deadlifts are pretty much the greatest thing ever. I'm pretty much the same way with the arms, my problem there is that my arms are way too long compared to the rest of my body. Not so good for aesthetics, great for kickboxing.
  10. Had to throw my own .02 in here, although torn asunder covered most of it. 1stly, yes, Bruce Lee did in fact lift weights. The injury that landed him in bed for a period of months was the result of going way too heavy on barbell good mornings. This is just one website that talks about Bruce Lee's weight training. Google Bruce Lee weight training and you'll find plenty more. 2nd, I've been weight training for about a year on and off without HGH or Steroids and I can deadlift 405# for 5 reps. 3rd, I was almost 300lbs before I started weight training, and now with proper eating and lifting I dropped all the way to 230 and kept most of my muscle mass, and now I'm up to 253 at the same bodyfat as I was at 230. So yes, lifting can help you loose weight and retain muscle if you use them properly and eat enough while doing so.
  11. It's been tried. Heard of the Phantom? I'm predicting vaporware.
  12. I'm speaking of a crash, not a spiral. As far as result, think french revolution. My point is, it's a bullying tactic meant to force the federal government into giving the states the money they want, without the strings. Whether it will work or not is another issue entirely.
  13. It doesn't matter who did it first, only who does it last. It was wrong when the Republicans were in power, and it's still wrong to my mind. I don't particularly care which party stops it, only that it is stopped. Once that hurdle is crossed then we can deal with the other issues (the so called two party system among those). Actually, strategically speaking this poor economy is the perfect time to threaten a move like this. It such a move were to happen and the economy were to undergo total collapse then those in power are going to be in a very, very bad position. A far worse position than they're in now.
  14. Nothing from searching google either. I'm honestly shocked. Wait, I found a guy who managed to get himself in the face playing with a thermite grenade.
  15. Just reinstalled Painkiller: Gold Edition. I love this game. ZOMGMETAL soundtrack, bizarre level design, obscene amounts of enemies, multi-story tall bosses. Awesome weapons. Giant stake launcher, check. Shuriken firing lightning gun, check. Combination Blender/Weedwacker/chainsaw from hell, double check. Best game in the world when you've had a bad day.
  16. I've got a really nifty scar on my forehead. *shrug*
  17. Not sleeping apparently. Or I could be sleep posting. After going a few days without things just aren't as clear...
  18. On idiots and thermite; I would think that the problem would take care of itself in relatively short order. Also, that video is one of the more awesome things that I've seen in a while.
  19. I'm far left. 3am, the morning before my first submission grappling event I decided my head needed to be shaved, this picture was the result. I don't know if it's my favorite pic, but it definitely is very "me".
  20. It seems reasonable to me, if you're using extra space, you should pay for the extra space. I would say that this should include people bringing young'uns along, however.
  21. What's the problem with thermite? I have allegedly heard from other sources that it can be fun. Allegedly. Aside from that, I'm not sure if this is the greatest thing ever, or a waste of bacon. I may need to attempt it to be really sure.
  22. Now how the heck did I miss that? Oh well. I'm moving on from The Tower of Fear to Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.
