  1. Oh ThankYouThankYouThankYou It is: http://www.facebook.com/cirqueacirca
  2. A group of artist friends and I have two footballs fields of space to fill for our Artprize entry. Artprize is a huge art event, held annually, and perhaps the biggest open art competition in the nation with over 200,000 visitors last year. Our entry is going to be a sort of circus/freakshow/sideshow/fashion event, held atop and in the middle of a huge work of art that will serve as a stage amidst a huge cabinet of curiosities. The theme is going to be very turn of the century - neovictorian gothic, edwardian, miskatonic, and steampunk - and we are hoping to, for at least one day of the event turn our event into a big meeting place for like-minded individuals - like a convention or faire without admission costs. The event runs September 22nd through October 10th, we have until a week before that time to gather funds and materials, and to put it all together. We could use help - anything from just mentioning the prospect in passing, linking to us through blogs and posts, getting the word out - to bigger things like connecting us with a good venue for a fund-raising party and art show, contributing spare parts and buckets of paint (there is a list of needs on our site), to flyering, to actually physically lending a hand with the event... or even being entertainers present in the "buskers alley" section of the show (tip buckets are not only allowed, but encouraged). If you think you might want to lend a hand, please visit CirqueACirca.com/Artprize to be sure, and contact us through the site, or here. Any amount of help raising awareness or otherwise would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Sorry I didn't get back to you when you wrote. Beth was in and out of the hospital for a couple weeks, and I was making visits, and needing to work extra hard to keep up on things (we both work at home). I just realized my tent is no longer with me - but we have a friend or two who live in the area. We might just have to drop by whichever night is best for dropping by.
  4. The Ghost of Lemora - "The Ground Beneath our feet" - but I am about to (finally) throw in the new "Drowning Season" Cd, which I ordered well in advance, but accidentally had shipped to my old place :/
  5. Thank you Jynxxxed ^_^

  6. As long as no disasters come up, nothing pulls me out of state, I am certainly wanting this to be the way I spend that weekend ^_^
  7. I have a feeling I will definitely enjoy hearing you spin then, once I get out again anyway.

  8. Anyway... 'Nice to meet you.

  9. Depending on the night, crowd, and mood - I was also very into the coffin cats, nekromantix, coffin draggers, horrorpops, zombina side of things... and liked throwing the odd not-so-danceable Nick Cave or Current 93 out there as well. I left the Synth and EBM to the DJs who loved such things more than I did.

  10. Wow - I even see a few local things, which is good, because anything that involves pre-planning is something I can only do every once in a while. Though it is nice having a list of those options as well! Thank you ^_^
  11. It figures that I would find this board at the beginning of the month. Well, I hope it is around in May too. I just moved to Michigan, in the Grand Rapids area - I've been getting the feeling that if there is anything around here, that Detroit and Chicago were the two closest places. So, other than this once-monthly event, what else do Grand Rapids goths do when not leaving town?
