Hug A Goth Day!
Iris replied to eatdirt426's topic in Current Events, Science, Spirituality, Politics, Religion & Sociology
The trick is to hug yourself and then spend the rest of the day in creative self-loathing and isolationism. You know you're cool on the inside when on the outside you are all acid-bath! The question should not be : "Do I need a hug?" rather : "Do YOU need a hug...there's some razor wire that needs your loving 'attenzione' right over nyere...it would give me so much joy to see affection between human and metal" Sauciness is saucy! -
You know what I all ways wanted to do: an angel costume. Not a cutesy one, the type you would associate with fantasy renditions of the beautiful androgynous creautures that kick major arse I do not know what it is abut me and blindfolds or eye patches, but those type of accessories just rock my socks!

You need a lover that won't drive you crazae-zae-zae! Good luck in life and love! One can be had without the other, but on occasion two is better than one.

I wouldn't reccomend everyone be more like me...because then I would be less awesome Ayeah...odd night, I let myself go into a less than shabby mood and hid a bit more than I should. If you saw me casually wagging my tail and staring blankly into odd directions, I do believe you saw the less than awesome side of me. It still lingers, but it will die a thousand unholy deaths. Odd thing about Iris' cigarettes: confirmation that they do indeed burn with a slight magenta/purplish hue (it was not just the red lights in the smoking room). Reason being: they are magical faerie sticks, yuuuup Of note, I was glad to see so many of you out. Our how-do's may have been brief (or vacant). They should have been longer and more in depth, but I am prone to the social tongue-tie. My remedy for excusing myself from exhausted conversation is, as TWB stated, to be fully intent on dancing all the shudders away. A bad habit of mine : having an outmoded sense of timing when it comes to instigating conversation; I am learning that it is less polite to merely float around "waiting" for the best case scenario (i.e. person is not entrenched in conversation with others); As long as a careful foot and understanding tone is taken, I believe a casual interruption may be allowed (or welcomed) Something I am constantly making strides towards improving (well, my dancing as well...because I am a HORRID dancer ) For that reason, I did not make formal introductions to a few of you. And now, an episode from when I did manage to intrude upon someone's conversation: Troy : "I want to dance, but you know what I need..." ~I raise my eyebrows, and think to myself : "Ok, what song/artist do you need to hear to get you out on the floor"?~ Troy: ..."I think I need..." ~waits~ (suspense is killing me) Troy : ..."a water, first" Iris:

Only have one to my name. It was a Friday the 13th thirteen dolla special. Tribal design of two bird-like objects and a heart in the center void. Originally intended for a tramp-stamp I am sure, but I had my own ideas where I wanted it; It has its home on the diagonal flesh seam of my lower left abdomen. I am getting this one enhanced in the coming monthes. The artist drilled me too hard on the lower side, and most of the ink bled out . I want it to become an intricate pendant with a carnelian stone where the heart lies. Besides minor planning for the pendant design, I just need to figure out where I should get this done. So, who is the most awesome artist out there, I ask.

I doubly approve of both suggestions. -

Your preview list is distinctly lacking in Donna. I know I can count on you to toss Ego Likeness into the mix Anything from Siouxsie's early early years? Like...Nicotine Stain or Mirage? -
I will say I am an expert at making authentic Hungarian Goulash, though I have not flaunted that ability in a good while. With me, I seek out a trusted source for a knowledge base (a cranky Austro-Hungarian gramma in the case above), stick to traditional ingredients (I used ONLY sweet Hungarian Paprika), and then make an executive decision on how I want the dish to turn out. One time, in my haste to prepare an entire bowl and having it delivered to a friend at a specific time, an oversight actually made the overall result more delicious than it would otherwise have been! I let the dumplings simmer for too long, so by the time I removed the lid, they had absorbed ALL the remaining liquid. The finished product looked like a huge pile of raw red meat. I can make Miso and Kitsune Udon quite well (same process for the soup stock). Of course, there have been epic failures as well. One time while experimenting on how to prepare naturally derived spaghetti sauce, I accidentally made baby food instead

Odd conundrum. For the past few years (2007 -2010), Hallowe'en has taken place at Youmacon. So, in fact I was in costume all weekend, and running around some overpacked hotel complex not knowing what was going on half the time :/ So, it falls on a Monday and I am not attending said con this year, meaning: I actually get to celebrate Hallowe'en by itself. *cue cryptic ramblings* Something has intruded on my thought process. Upon rummaging through my old toys, I explicitly told both my younger and eldest brother (several times now) that my main thing was collecting : "such-and-such", so they might have to scrounge elsewhere. Looking back and remembering such has inspired me to want to do something very extravagant. It isn't so much of a costume as it is a "uniform". I might even be able to wear it throughout the year, if I so choose =) Regardless, I am spending it in some sort of style. The style being : formal! We shall see and with all hopes, so shall a few of the board members

It became the habit on the Leland Board to post all the playlists on here. I went where the apple fell.

@ Bean: Unlike a regular piercing, which is a quick sharp pain...dermals are a much more dulled annoyance. Have you ever received a quick blow to the rib-cage...yeah, its sorta like that :"Ow, What the fuck!?!?" Before I get my last dermal inserted, I am going to get a cameo broach tattoo-ed on my chest, so the whole thing looks like a permanent necklace! @ Eevee: I'd get a second opinion on how rings affect the gumline. Anything metallic that comes into direct contact with soft tissue for extended periods would logically cause wear and tear. Then again, logic sometimes throws one for a loop and does the opposite of how its "supposed" to behave

What colour of eyes would you like if you could choose?
Iris replied to Etalimissa's topic in Fashion, Beauty and Costume.
I'll go with my original idea that was not posted due to eyepatch. Two-toned eyes. Mineral/gem tones. One malachite green and the other a rich carnelian -
Just when I promised myself the piercings would end with a daith, a quaint idea landed in my head: dermals. Ideas are all ways making their way in and out of my thoughts...most float away, to be fluffed off as misbegotten inspiration. Something about this particular one instantly hit home; The image was clear in my mind but still very much a vague outline. As I put it to Melisa (my piercer): "I know what and where I want my piercings, I just don't know the vocabulary behind them". Not even two days later (even that seemed like an eternity), I entered the shop once again. It was very much a learning experience, and M is quite easy going and comfortable to talk to. Part of the excitement is not knowing what to expect. A tray of different gem-themed caps are laid out before me, and initially my indecisive nature kicks in: M: "We usually start you out with gems, then from there you can switch them out with skulls or whatever...did you want a coloured gem, or perhaps black or a clear white one?" Iris: "Topaz would suit my birth stone better, but Emerald looks nice too" M: "Did you want one of each? Here, let's take a look at them side by side" What I did find odd is how quickly I made up my mind after that. Did I want it to be black or neutral: fuck no...I want this thing to be seen and adored. Did I want to something I "should" get or something that just looked nice: the Emerald looked nice, I got both of my dermals in emerald. The darker green stands out more against my pale skin and looks plain epic. Choice is made, have no idea how these things are going to be inserted (but I have a high pain tolerance, so yeah). M: "Ok, breathe in....and breathe out" *KINK* M: "How you doing?" Iris: "Well, now I know what it feels like to get a staple gun to the chest" M: "I wouldn't know what that feels like, but ok" Pictures shall follow, once I snap some in the coming week. M: "we accidentally ordered some Snoopy bandages instead of the plain ones; Now, did you want the regular spot bandages, or Snoopy" Iris: "Hells yes, I want Snoopy"

My eyes naturally cycle through hues in real life (the joys of the "other" shade misdefined by many as Hazel ) If I had my druthers, I suppose I would want one eye to be dramatically different from the other, give it a fun shade like lilac or grey and make the pupil more defined and oval-ly. Proper accessory to follow: a bitchin eyepatch over the crazy-eye -

Gothsicles and Eisenfunk combined still don't hold a candle to the epic retro-ness of these guys -
I all ways correct someone when they speak the bastardization of the actual term : "beau". School is for correcting mistakes, not enabling them...FAIL! (for the record, FAIL should never be erased until humans stop making it so damn necessary)!

All in all, I danced and dance and danced. I really needed that. Also, I cannot help but to notice this list is distinctly lacking in Cowbell! -
As birther of this thread, and to quell the outcries for more pictures. This is what a Daith looks like I am not certain as to exactly what type of earrings you are "supposed" to pair with this area...but frankly, I do not care one bit. I will have dangles. Of course, now that this area is finally healed, I am looking forward to pairing my daith with an upper-daith
