I am Cathrine but call me Cat. I am known as the Fairy Gothmother. I got my start in the Detroit scene since it was the localist scene to Algonac.I have always been a odd, quirky one attracted to the strange, bizarre, unusual and dark stuff. I had plenty of influences growing up but I had less interest in baby dollies and pink things haha. I was always creative and imaginative and very observant in life.

So anyways yeah I got my start in the goth scene officially not just being a at home only Goth when my first husband and I were divorcing. I had freedom to go where I wanted and be who I wanted. He was not really into it all and I could never get him interested in going to clubs or events. I had to drag him to a few concerts so our compatibility was low and after 5 years it was done. Sadly without a car since another long story mine was sold I had to rely on people driving my ass to and from clubs and events and living up past New Baltimore made that difficult with increasing gas prices and the commute time.

I did really enjoy going and I always desired being a big part of the scene and making alot of like minded friends. Since alot was going on in my life and I wanted to get away from a bad environment where I was I decided to head west and live in Southern California. I spent a couple years there and took part in the LA goth scene and had some fun. For a long time I had really dreamed of one day visiting back to Europe and the UK and attending Goth events and festivals so I began learning German and making friends and connections in Germany and more in the UK. I wanted to learn about everything I could so I could one day visit. I been to the UK before as my first husband was British but never had the chance to do anything related to the scene there. So now since I was alone and had nothing much going on in my life I said the hell with it all and moved to Germany.

So its been over 2 years now in Deutschland and I am faring well. I finally have myself a goth partner and we have our adorable hairless kitty Gizmo. I love my husband and with him I have been to my first huge Gothic festival M'era Luna also thanks to the help of a very awesome person from DGN (you know who you are) My goth dude and I are ready for our next adventure and as we have talked about going to the Wave Gotik Treffen (hes already been to it) we decided to just move to Leipzig. He was born there though grew up in Dresden and well we know in Leipzig surrounded by all the gothic awesomeness and the yearly festival we will be 2 very happy Gruftis. We will have a gorgeous lair centrally located in the city near everything and I have a feeling will become a permanent fixture there. I look forward to it so much but I still do miss and remember where I got my start. I think Detroit has a pretty unique scene and with the dystopian/industrial state of the city it really added a certain charm to it all.

I of course welcome each and every one of my fellow Michigan/Detroit scene friends and acquaintances anytime you fancy a trip to Germany my doors are open. And hey theres a Erotik Shop on the ground level! But if you ever want to experience the German festivals and scene I will be your Gothic Embassy. In fact thats a good idea. I think I might start something like that for my American scene friends. XD So if your ever interested in German travel and the scene here and want a connection hit me up!
