I absolutely agree about finding beauty in the ruins of Detroit. The ballroom inside City Club for example, with it's cracking and peeling walls is absolutely breathtaking! FYI, Preservation Wayne has walking tours of the city every Tuesday and Saturday starting in May and running until September. In August they have a special theater tour and cemetaries in October. A friend of mine went on some of the tours and got some amazing photos of places you wouldn't normally get to go. I highly suggest them and I plan on going as often as possible this summer.

Nobody ever shows the Awesome parts of Detroit. I would bet that every big city has some crappy ruined parts too. Detroit may have more but I think it's getting better.

I've never had the unfortunate experience of going there myself but I've heard many people say that they are assholes there. They should be thankful they have a job!

I totally understand what phee just said. I still feel like me. I would go out every weekend if it weren't for these meddling kids! I'm 34 and I've loved my 30's way more than my 20's. I'm looking forward to my 40's as well. I am not however, looking forward to the health problems that old age brings:( Hopefully, I won't have any.

That is exactly why I don't go to concerts anymore. It's such a total rip off.

I have to wait until it comes out on dvd. 1 because I work on Sunday nights and 2. because my addiction is so bad that I need to be able to watch each episode one right after another. I could not possible wait an entire week in between.

That's really cool. We're looking to buy a house next year and I really want an old spooky house, a family cemetery would be even better but I'm pretty sure I won't find that in the Detroit-Metro area.

How many people lost their retirement savings? Wall Street got bailed out and gave their employees big bonuses but the people who worked hard and saved their $$ are S.O.L. It breaks my heart to think of our seniors being forced to work instead of retire:(

"The Choking Game" has been around for years. The only way I can explain that kids are still doing it is that parents are not talking to their kids about it. It is so tragic to lose a child but to lose them to this would be torturous. I really love all of the suggested ways to get high without drugs, all very true.

Hello Welcome. Based on your hobbies it looks like you and I have a lot in common. I love the outdoors, not really into hunting but camping, hiking, boating. Also, I really really want to get a painted turtle. We had one when I was a kid but I'm waiting to get one until my two boys are a little bit older so I can tell them it's their turtle. lol.
