Any Godless Heathens Here? Come Get DAM'd!
Class-Punk replied to Stu's topic in Nightlife, Events & Concerts
I strongly disagree and I think this is scientism and the nihilism that results from it, both of which I believe have an expiration date; but as to why I think that, there's a saying I think that's relevant to the general populace: "Some things cannot be told." -

You and anyone in your group might find it interesting to explore John Vervaeke's work on YouTube. He is an assistant professor at the University of Toronto who identifies as a non-theist, and a cognitive scientist who is interested in something like the idea that people are in a meaning crisis brought on by the current state of culture, philosophy, science, and the negative side-effects of biological adaptation, and exploring solutions for this. The conversations he has with theists, rather than being debates, are framed as exploration of how to solve aspects of the meaning crisis with civil disagreements when they come up. There's a lot of other people connected to him, religious and non-religious, and like him, they are interested in pulling the focus more from debate over religion and politics; and instead, focusing on gaining the most complex, objectively true understanding of maximizing meaning in life. https://www.youtube.com/@johnvervaeke -
I think the general public is really bad at seeing probabilities from information patterns which is the end goal of any endeavor to think critically and for that reason they have a narrow view of what accounts for solid evidence and are missing various large phenomena going on. An example of this is people like Elon Musk or Nassim Taleb using the idea of signal versus noise, or good information versus bad information, when the reality is that you can't simply say it's good to simply permanently discard any bit of information because you mostly don't know everything, including what information might be crucial to you in the future. And Thomas Sowell goes into the same thing in his book Intellectuals and Society with some people who have wealth and power, who are egotistical, and equate having wealth and power with their wisdom in how they use it, which makes politicians more destructive for example. But that's my two cents.

I will risk sounding like a total nut and say the people I trust most on the aliens thing are Kerry Cassidy, Michael Salla, and Alex Collier, since they would probably shock the average person with things they have to say. But I think we can most likely significantly increase the intelligence of the average person and get everyone on the same page about a ton of things if we can get near full disclosure from our governments, and mainstream news loses most of its popularity or is forced to stop lying to people.

I don't want to write an essay because I'm procrastinating doing one right now, lol.. but the dots I've connected make me think a Quantum Financial System is going to replace the current one globally, where a new gold-backed US dollar will be worth tremendously more, and technology allowing free energy will happen in our lifetimes, to name some possibilities that are less surreal. Yeah, it can be overwhelming, but I do think that most likely the good guys are winning. I watch beforeitsnews.com for Juan O Savin interviews sometimes to get what information scraps he has on that, because I think he seems to have above average insight on them. I don't know the reference but I think I understand the jist of what you mean. I think a lot of this stuff hidden from us will connect to aliens in the ET sense. I had near zero interest in aliens until 2021 but I've put sources here, including multiple government whistleblowers, for why I now think aliens are real: https://classpunk.substack.com/p/why-i-am-99-sure-aliens-are-real

One thing I very strongly see happening is that the long-term future will generally be amazingly good, but it will be very shocking in the short-term for most people, due to good people taking back the American government, and fully disclosing to the general public the extreme level of information control that's been wielded over us for greed and pure evil.

He makes some great post-punk/new wave/80's pop kind of music. I had no idea he had autism until yesterday, but I think he is some sort of legitimate musical and poetic savant who is probably less popular only because in rebellious fashion, he didn't like the studio, didn't like dealing with the record companies, and wanted to make music at home more than tour. Here a couple of his songs I love:

I'm too used to FL Studio and refuse to give it up for another DAW but it has default mastering issues. I was reading last night that the default mastering options in FL Studio reduce the low bass and high frequencies where they should be. So what happens is that if you take two total amateurs with the same hardware making a song with virtual piano and drums, as an example, one in FL Studio and one in another DAW like Sonar, the FL Studio version will sound less sonically broad, less professional, and less engaging to anyone listening compared to a typical song on the radio. So I tried it on one partly done song by EQing the master effects channel and adding a max loudness limiter and it seems to have helped, I'm going to focus on that more rather than try to take on what feels like an entire other skillset.

I need to stop stressing over learning how to make music sound more professionally mastered which I don't like doing and don't really want to learn.. apart from doing simple mixing stuff I already know like panning and EQing in whatever way sounds good or finding what people do in a compression plugin for different drum compression.. and just enjoy making music for the therapy of doing it. Because if I don't abandon learning mastering I will dread it and never open up FL Studio again.

That's a cool story. I think my name was actually "Coffeenated" because I drank coffee regularly back then. It's crazy how long ago it's been but before coming to this place, almost two decades ago, I was talking to/randomly spamming and tormenting gothic Brits online as an over-caffeinated 16-year-old.

This is shocking and sad news. If I remember right I only physically met Troy once, it was through no fault of his own because I'm not big on traveling, driving, or being around crowds. But we've had brief communication through the years and he got me to hand out business cards for DGN years ago. I think that speaks to his character, since that's not something I would do for most people. Where I did it for him because I wanted to see an online forum for gothic and alternative culture around Michigan, and he seemed like a good man who at the time was making progress with that. The forum got less popular over time, some reasons were that people had disagreements on the rules and the alternative scene was changing, but people's personal connection to the culture never changed and he struggled to leave a place online for those within his rules. He contributed to the decentralization of communication, which is a good thing for people at large, especially with so many people who have flocked to Facebook, not knowing how it may have never been in their best interest and the story of the criminal project called Lifelog. He also battled with physical and mental health struggles and stayed true to his individuality, dressing the part more than a lot of older closet goths. Comedically speaking, Troy also seemed to like legal Michigan THC so he might've liked that I wrote this in honor of him while pretty baked. If heaven exists, it's probably a big place, but I think that it just got a little more gothic. Rest in peace Troy.

There was too much sugar in that ice cream.

I haven't looked this entire new album yet, but I'm going to play the shit out of these songs.

People vaccinating their kids are totally out of touch with the reality of VAERS and how much of a limited sample it is of the overall damage that has been done and will be done. The scientific and medical community is short on integrity and full of cowards.

This year is going to be an economic roller-coaster.
