  1. Yes but the physical body of each consumer of alcohol is different based on body mass and also it includes time duration (amount of alcohol + amount of time during consumption) which determines the impairment or lack of impairment of each individual. The car or the road have nothing have no baring on it. It could be a small volvo or large SUV, both kill when operated by an impaired driver. None the less, my point about the pop (soda) being the cause for people becoming obese thus being the reason the Mayor of NY wanting to ban bridge card users from making such purposes is really a red haring (IMO). Red meat could be labeled the culprit if you were to talk with vegans. What if the Mayor said, "people are getting fat from eating too much hamburger, I want to ban the use of a bridge card to purchase red meat"....would that be ok? Bread is another known food that can make people gain weight....should that be on the list? How about butter? And sweet cereal. And pop tarts. And the list can grow very large very fast. Again I ask (and no one has an answer) WHERE DOES IT END? Maybe the solution is to educate people about better eating habits. To make them smarter shoppers. More aware of alternatives. Not to create more laws. This country doesn't need more laws. We have enough already. And if people are abusing bridge cards, report them. Make the card capable of sending data of the user use so they can be monitored. Is that a good solution? But I do not believe that more laws are the solution. There are drunk driving laws and yet people are still killed by drunk drivers. Education I think is a better route, not making people criminals.
  2. I disagree. I know someone that never drank alcohol and was killed by a drunk driver so, to say alcohol is pretty much harmless unless you're a hard core alcoholic is wrong. It seems that those that are social/weekend drinkers say often how alcohol is safe. Why is that? Maybe how you drink (in moderation) is safe but you don't even have to take a drink to be affected by it. So would you say that those types of people (that spend their food card money foolishly) should be under some sort of special laws/regulation? And if that were allowed, then should we make more government regulations to save us from ourselves? Should the government regulate our private habits to make this country more safe? Again, where does it end? Just curious.
  3. IMO this seems to be more of another government intrusion into tax payers lives. While I will agree that those receiving assistance should not spend it foolishly I also believe that government has not right telling private citizens how to spend money correctly when the government has proven time and time again that they have trouble budgeting our tax dollars. If it is allowed for the state to regulate food stamp spending do we then have the right to show up on their door and tell them how to spend our money (which, when one thinks about it - they are always spending our money on things we would disagree with and then they turn around and raise our taxes to get what? More money to spend how they please). Should it not be a two way street? I thought that conservatives wanted less government in our life? Am I wrong? Are we to allow politicians to have more say (i.e. control) over what we do in our daily lives? Where does it end In fact, I think it should go like this, when our government figures out how to properly regulate the monies they already get from us (the tax payers) and they demonstrate that they can be fiscally sound in their spending, then they can tell the common person how to better spend tax payers money (which is not theirs to begin with). That is just how I see things.
  4. Negative negative, the fly made a bee line right into the cup from my left side to the right side of me where the cup was. It was as if the fly was going after the tablet. And it was still very much conscience after landing in the water because it was attempting to swim in the fizzing water. It happened so fast the fly was actually a blur zooming across my field of vision. I swear, it went after the tablet. Has anyone actually witnessed a fly go after anything before? I know I had never seen anything like it till last night. Usually, a fly will hover above food and wait or they'll slowly make their way towards something before landing. This one followed right after the tablet that I had thrown into the cup. It didn't even wait or hover, it went right after the tablet that I threw into the water like it wanted the tablet. Again, very bizarre.
  5. So last night I witnessed the strangest thing ever to happen in front of me. I was in my kitchen making a cup of alka seltzer cold and flu relief (the kind you put in water that dissolves) and there is this damn fly flying around me. Well, I'm not paying attention to the fly and just looking down at my cup. So I throw in the first tablet and before I know it, I see the fly zoom across in front of me and it goes right into my cup of now fizzy water. I'm like whoa, what was that? And I look and see the fly floating in my cup. I guess the damn thing had a cold or just wanted to end its life. LMAO!!!! Bizarre.
  6. Feeling good............little tired too but good.
  7. Like I'm getting over a cold that kept me in bed all day yesterday. At least I have energy today and can breath through my nose.
  8. I feel this great urge to build a Mosque............no, not really. j/k
  9. well.............if that isn't a strong final thought (Jerry Springer would be proud) than I don't know what is.
  10. I read a few of the first posts in this this thread all all those posts make me think is, people - plain and simple - do not understand what this countries history is and what this country was founded on. So, since there are those that are against others having freedom to express their religion (as their posts clearly pointed out their anger towards something as meaning less as a mosque) how about those that are offended offer to give your freedoms and then we can allow our government to take away their freedoms so you, will be happy. *yea I'm a little ticked off at the moment* I'm not a Muslim, I'm not even religious for that matter. I don't care for places of worship but, I don't care if others want a place to go to practice their beliefs even if I think all religions are kooky ideas at best. My family has fought for our freedom and *within reason of course i.e. - so long as no one is killing and so on and so forth* we should respect their right to practice their beliefs. So long as they aren't killing people, who get's harmed over a building in a certain location? The Empire of Japan bomb pearl harbor, killed how many innocent military and civilians and yet, how many cars, electronics does America purchase from Japan? Are we not on good terms with that country now? I think we as a nation need to start healing from 9/11 and stop the paranoia and hatred towards the people that were not involved. If our nation can heal from pearl harbor we can sure as hell heal from 9/11. Those are just some of my thoughts.
  11. I agree with this 100%......just because a woman has the parts that enables her to reproduce doesn't mean she would make a good parent. I have met a few women over the years that should not have had children. Made me feel sorry for the kids seeing how unfit their moms are. I think there will come a day when testing to get authorized to reproduce will be mandatory. Too many psychos are spawning and mucking up the human race.
  12. I feeling greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat. My hun and I are enjoying the start of our favorite season. Love the cloudy/cool weather.
  13. This is making me look fondly on the Vietnam war. And that's a disaster that we can all agree on.............maybe. Anyway............... This is (IMO) the worst military campaign this nation has ever been part of, when will the politicians take responsibility for their reckless and careless actions that have killed countless innocent people? Let me offer an answer to my own question..........never. Bush figures he's out of office and doesn't have to worry about repercussion for his absent minded decisions about declaring war on Saddam. I guess when you're rich you can fuck up in major ways and not have to pay the price. Only the poor and defenseless pay for government mistakes. When will it ever end?
  14. Thanks for the greeting. Late or otherwise, it's all good.

  15. I found this quote from 1945 which is from post WWII. It described how the Nazi's described how they were able to get the German people to subscribe to voting their political party into power and found it to be disturbing and found similarities to a certain political party the (imo) has done something similar in America over the past 9 years. - Hermann Wilhelm Göring (1945) post WWII. German, Nazi leader I just wanted to discuss how this relates to our former president and how we have been told for almost a decade that we have been threatened by terrorists/attacks and how this has kept us at war in the middle east for far too long. Any thoughts, counter points are welcomed/encouraged.
  16. Feel like my allergies are kicking up and it sucks but, I will live.
