  1. This does not come as a shock to me. The moral do gooders have been chipping away at American's rights for the last 30 years or more. Not because people can't take care of themselves or think for themselves but because they want to control the population. What's really sad is the amount of people that "don't have the time to stand up for their rights" and are helping this problem of losing our rights and freedoms because they would rather allow themselves to be consumed by their day to day lives. It's a good thing George Washington and the rest of this countries founders (whom had tougher lives than we do today) didn't just sit back and say "whatever" while watching another game on the tele drinking a 6 pack.
  2. Well I for one am happy that there are people in this country that know what's good and what's bad for everyone else. Thankfully they are banning everything they dislike so we don't have to do any of that pesky thinking for ourselves. It's long over due that the world be made overly safe so we can go about our duties as tax payers and consumers without any worries. Thank you self appointed saviors.
  3. I agree that exists. Back to the story at hand, this douche only did one good thing, he resigned. I'm not surprised by his activity, only surprised that it came out so soon after it happened. In my mind, most of them are doing stuff like this but the only difference is that the others are keeping it under wraps for much longer than him. If only the others would get caught this easily then maybe there's a chance we could get more honest people in government but, I'm not holding my breathe that it'll happen anytime soon.
  4. I am looking for a bass player and drummer that would be interested in starting up a working band. I have two decades of experience playing guitar around the east coast and Michigan area. PM me if interested for more details.
  5. I'm feeling like the more I stay out of the bitter cold the better off I am.
  6. With every end, there's a new beginning. And with every beginning, an end.
  7. I found an old Lego round canister that's about 15/20 inches tall from the 50's or 60's that was more than half filled with Lego's from that era. The only thing it's missing is the lid. It's very cool to see the old style packaging that companies no longer use. Today you get everything in cheap flimsy boxes but not back then. This is pure sheet metal and has lasted through 4 or 5 decades.
  8. + 1,000,000,000 That lady is a total dingbat (or is it, dung bat?)Anyway. To sum up my perspective, to sue a company for paying to advertise a legal product (regardless of it's geared towards children. As long as it is safe) is the most absurd thing she could possibly do. What's next? Suing lee jeans for selling skinny jeans that she can't fit into? Or how about, suing her local mall for selling items she can't afford to purchase. Because that just makes sense right? McDonald's isn't harming anyone with their commercials and are well within their right as a company to advertise. Does she even know how to change the channel on her t.v.?
  9. I think what it comes down to is, people, be they parents or not, need to take responsibility for their own actions or lack there of. And what kind of parents give in to their kids every time the kid says they want this or that? Not a very good parent I'd say. And also, is it up to McDonalds to help her raise her kid? Is capitalism not what makes this country work? We're gonna sue them for a commercial? Or a toy offer? Or because, their food isn't healthy? It's fast food - not gourmet. This lawsuit reminds me of the lady that sued McD's because she spilled her coffee on herself and it was TOO HOT, so now they have warning labels on all their coffee cups. And I think, really, is this what our society has become? People needing labels to point out the obvious? But, if it makes them feel better I suppose. Oh and btw, there were more than three t.v. stations in Detroit during the 70's - we had 2,4,7,9 (cbc Windsor) 13,20,38,50,56, and the much not so watched 62. Sorry, couldn't resist throwing in the info.
  10. Obviously the prosecutor knows that trooper was out of line otherwise they wouldn't have dropped the charges.
  11. I disagree with the last part of your post. Having grown up in the 70's - these commercials were on every bit as much as they are today. The problem we have today are parents that want someone else to blame. They refuse to accept responsibility for their lack of parenting skills. What's more easier, blame a fast food company for their kids behavior or saying to them self, "I need to do things differently so my kid will stop acting this way"......my parents would just say no. Not all the time but they did put their foot down. Parents today, act like it's the t.v.'s or fast food companies fault for showing these commercials, which, FYI to these dumb parents, those companies pay for the kids shows to be on the air by buying advertisement time. *DUH* What kind of commercials should they show? V8 or the ab master? Come on now - let's get real here. Who's the parent in that woman's house anyway, her or her kid?
  12. Another opportunist looking for their payday/15 minutes of fame. To quote Carlin "There's no shortage of stupidity in America." I can't stand these "I have to save everyone by banning everything I deem unsafe for the world." kind of people. Raise your kids your way b**ch, leave other parents to decide for themselves.
  13. This douche should get beaten as well.... News. I'm not gonna paint with a wide brush but it's incidents like this that just say, there needs to be more accountability with law enforcement.
  14. Good art/bad art is really subjective and comes down to perspective. That aside, I myself don't feel that being happy would ruin any art. People can either be angry or in a very positive mood and create very good art. So I say no, being happy does not make crappy art.
  15. The door was sealed, no light shall pass through again. Shadows consume them.
  16. Even though the actual words may not be there, the wording in which the statement "separation of church and state" (by Thomas Jefferson) has been the accepted interpretation for over 200 years. The supreme court has agreed with this many, many times.
  17. Wow, so many things indeed. So I guess he wants to convert everyone to HIS FAITH OF CHOICE now that he's been elected? Read story here. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've been taught that our government is founded on the belief that there IS a separation between church and state. We have it that way for a reason. Also, what happened to freedom of religion? Is it only freedom of religion, when you convert to Christianity?
