At least from what I see on the dance floor it's all about the beat and if you can dance to it. Let's be honest, it's a club and people want to dance. Most of the songs played at the city and necto I normally wouldn't listen to, but when played in a club atmosphere with an emphasis on the kick drum and bass, it all makes sense. If I were a DJ I would play mostly danceable industrial and ebm songs at various speeds, but throw a song from another genre in once in a while to break up the monotony like goth, deathrock, punk, post-punk, etc... For an experiment have a DJ play Tool, a band that frequently uses odd time signatures, and just watch everyone on the dance floor. I guarantee it will be hilarious and everyone will then understand that it's all about the beat when playing music in the club.

I just want to thank everybody for welcoming me here. I haven't felt this warm and fuzzy for years. Sorry I haven't posted something on my own blog sooner, but I'm just getting to know the website. lol I found out about this site from going to the city club. I only went there three times but the three times I did go it's been fucking epic. I would go every Saturday if I didn't live an hour and a half away in one direction. I heard that there's a password posted on this site that if you say it at the door at the city club before midnight you get in for free? Is this true???? And if it's true where is the password posted??? -
