I was going to try to paste pages 838-840 here, so people could read the actual wording, but the browser won't me for some reason. Anyway, I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing. People who raise their children under acceptable conditions won't be affected by it, and people who don't raise their children under acceptable conditions need to be affected by it. I've seen a number of people in this community say things like "People should have to get a license to raise children." This is a much more realistic and less fascist measure. Yes, we live in a country where we have a lot of personal freedoms, and everyone is worried about "Big Brother," but we're not talking about free speech here. No where is one given the right to abuse, neglect, or mistreat their children.

I wish I could fast forward two weeks. The waiting is driving me crazy. It feels later than midnight for some reason. I really need a job. I am bored out of my freaking mind, and I need something to distract me from everything I am stressing out over. My stomach is still hurting me, but at least I am keeping food and water down now. It really cracked me up when a friend told me earlier that I always seem like I have everything together.

*hugs* Mine was food poisoning, so I don't think it was contagious. Unfortunately I learned the hard way last night that food poisoning severely lowers your alcohol tolerance. I only had 3 drinks last night, before I realized I was sick, but by the way my body reacted to them you'd have thought I had at least twice that many. Give me a call tomorrow if you need anything. *hugs* Thanks, M. Wow, you pretty much described exactly how I am feeling right now, too. *hugs*

Yeah, pretty heavily. I really need to find a full time job before the end of the month with having another person and cat come live with me at the end of the month.

*shudders at the name "Bentley"* My high school principal's first name was Bentley, and I hated him. Mind you, I was a good student who graduated with almost a 4.0 GPA and never had so much as a detention. I just hated him because he was a sexist idiot. Not that it's any reason you shouldn't use the name if you really want to, just brings back bad memories for me.

The more I think about it, the more it's hard to imagine any sane person walking up to a complete stranger and criticizing their fashion sense. For all you know, the person could be blind or color blind and have no idea that what they put on doesn't match, or they could be homeless and not own anything else to wear. Seriously, if a stranger ever did just walk up to me and make fun of my clothes, I'd think I'd have a pretty good comeback regarding how that person came to be raised without any sensitivity or manners.

I am trying to remember if a complete stranger has ever outright criticized what I was wearing, and I can't think of anything. I've gotten weird/dirty looks, like the time I went into Ram's Horn after Hellbound sporting blue pigtails and a slutty schoolgirl outfit, but everyone has at one time or another, and, honestly I don't even pay attention to that stuff most of the time. If I do notice, I just shrug it off, because usually I am wearing something that certain people would find out of the ordinary. I get far more pissed off/offended when I am wearing scrubs, jeans and a t-shirt, or some other unostentatious outfit and I get cat-calls and sexual harassment from random men. Well, actually those comments piss me off either way, but I am slightly less irritated by them when I am wearing a revealing outfit.

The horrible experience that I had at my first externship preventing me from finding a job. I really wish I didn't have to list them as a reference, but if I didn't that would look really suspicious on a resume or job application.

I agree. I am against the idea of declawing my animals as well, but I think we jumped the gun and got a little self-righteous in this thread over a simple question. Probably would have been better to start a new topic if people had facts that they wanted to share about declawing. Back on topic, hooray that Seamus found a good home!

I guess this is going to be a day where I am just annoyed by all people in general. Having multiple nightmares last night was not fun. I shouldn't be thinking about the person I'm thinking about. Yesterday was fun, but kind of a wasted day. I need to stop always forgoing work that needs to be done to spend time with people. That will most likely change on its own in about 2 weeks. I'm hungry, but I shouldn't eat because I have a lunch date in about an hour.
