Oh yeah, pretty much any 'dance club' now adays that has a 'goth industrial synthpop whatever' night is no longer any chance at goth night hahaha. It's a money thing for necto. Obviously. I just wish more nights would get their heads in the game and play some good crap.

I know what you mean. Toxic Detroit is starting up an industrial night on thursdays at Paychecks, and I really hope they'll spin stuff that's different than the CC/Necto norm. My boyfriend's guest djing their first night. I know he'll spin what he wants and not follow the necto/CC guideline music, but he's just a guest. The reason why I feel like all of the new nights aren't doing so well is a lot of them (With the exception of Wednesdays, I haven't been, and it sounds a lot different than the obvious) are just the same thing. over, and over, and over, and over again. We've all heard 100% by Angelspit. We've all heard you spin the same depeche mode song over and over. We want new. But we want GOOD. I don't want to hear the same single by the same band that everyone thinks is dancey- play something by them that is catchy but that no one has really heard. make me learn/think/whatever.

the whole being underaged thing prohibits me from going to a few things I want to check out. Haha oh the skanky thing is always jokingly. I go mostly to see my friends at the clubs honestly, because I know what music they'll play, and it's not like THAT is dragging me to the club- it's the same damn thing every week. I like tons of music, every genre rofl. I like some cyber industrial crap, but it's really not my thing. My range of favorite bands is really weird. My favorite band is an alt-rock type band; honestly don't know what to peg them as, but they don't belong here at all haha. My favorite bands are Brand New [some rock ish stuff], Something Corporate [piano-rock], Dresden Dolls [punk cabaret], Children of the Plague [riot girl crap], VNV [i can be trendy too], Portishead, and a bunch of other stuff. I don't categorize myself as one thing. but as I said, I don't go to city and necto because I want to hear ridiculously awesome music. I go there pretty much to pregame, dance my ass off and get a work out from dancing, see my friends that live in the opposite direction of me and our schedules don't mesh well, and dress up and have fun. I don't really take either of those clubs as a serious musically enlightening experience, and don't expect it. I'd love to hear newer stuff, I'd love to hear them try something- which I'll give Mike, Pulse State, that he played some new stuff friday, and I didn't exactly like it, but I like that he tried some stuff out.

clubs have made it the fashionable thing, the hip thing, the trend. to go cyber, to be all 'industrial', and I think, as I just said, that clubs have made it into the fashion show. You hear the same music every monday at Necto, you hear a lot of the same stuff at City [i'll give the djs this, they're playing some newer stuff lately], but everyone's stuck in that- no one WANTS to hear anything different. Everyone requests personal jesus, everyone dances to the same shit and wants to hear it. You request something dark and maybe not the most DANCE-y song, but no one will play it because it's out of the norm. It's annoying. It's hard to mesh the club scene with stuff nowadays. If any of that made sense. /rant.

KAT, I HAVE TO DIP YOU IN BLEACH NOW. NOOO. Oh god. Last night was not one of my better hahahahahaha. I had a lot of alcohol, but it was very fun to see everyone for sure! I left around three because I didn't feel like hanging out with the Drama Llama when it came to town, but I had so much fun with Troy, Kat, and pretty much everyone that was there. I was no longer composed once 1 or 2 am hit, since everyone decided that 'sharing their drinks with victoria vengeance was an awesome idea'... blaaaaaah..... neverrr drinking again. Giant muffins was troys new icebreaker apparently. KAT. DGNDD. ALL I KNOW IS I WAS DRUNK AND SLIGHTLY REMEMBER IT AND THE PASSWORD WILL BE IAMONDRUGS. hahahahahaah...... oh god. and my tyger was amazingly adorable, we compared boob size for a while, she loved me when i was upsets, and shit i don't even know how to explain last night partially because i don't even know what last night was... hahahahahaha. goodgod.

Her nurse outfit in Arkham Asylum I can handle. it's a costume, it goes along with her role in the game and graphic novel and whatever. Arkham City's outfit is trashy but I can be O.K. with it. but this is just annoying. In all reality, Harley Quinn is NOT gothic. Harley's perfectly bubbly, happy, silly, and the only reason she dresses like a Harlequin is because she's in love with a guy who likes her dressed that way, and it stuck. As cool as these 'dark knight' / 'christopher nolan' styles are [WHICH I am guilty of wearing nolan-verse influenced harley outfits, even last night at city with bacon bit as my joker haha but that's just because we got bored and it was nothing serious and was not 'canon' in a comic], it is kind of annoying to see it taken so far from her Animated series rendition's origin. ick. she's not some sleaze, ya know?
