  1. Thank you Marc. You said everything I wanted to, but probably far more eloquently. Someone told me the other day that they imagine we in Darque Productions have the most thankless jobs ever- dealing with egos, fulfilling contracts and gurarantees, dealing with scene apathy/excuses/the economy to get people out to shows, etc. etc. I say we have some of the best, because we're bringing the live shows to you guys, getting to witness the look of enjoyment on your faces when you hear a band play your favorite song, and meeting a lot of really cool people along the way! We're not miracle workers. but we do what we can
  2. Bacon-Powered Blowtorch! Yes. You read that right. I'm assuming this forum was the correct place to put this. Hehe, hard to tell with things like this. I believe my favorite sentence out of the whole thing was, 'an intense bacon-plasma torch." Seriously. That sounds.... well... serious.

  4. I mean, I understand that a lot of pet shops create totally deplorable conditions for animals, and that's not even getting into the "puppy mills" issue. Hence why all of my pets have been rescues I just think this is going a bit too far...
  5. Animal rights group Peta has requested Pet Shop Boys to change their band name. Peta (People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals) reportedly requested that the pop duo rename themselves the 'Rescue Shelter Boys' to highlight conditions in pet shops. Read More Here Your thoughts?
  6. I think it really depends on the band and what cover they choose. I've heard some a-maz-ing covers done by by local and national/international acts. I've also heard some covers done that have had fail written all over them due to multiple reasons. (Plain lack of talent, poor adaptation, etc.)
  7. These fashion violation threads are always amusing. There's definitely a lot of styles I've seen in the clubs, as well as out in the "real world" that don't float my boat. Crocs, Ugs, over sized raver-kid pants, girls who wear electrical tape in lieu of a bra who really need a wee bit more support than that, the whole ICP make-up look, the whole ICP anything really, flip-flops at the club, 99% of tennis shoes at the club, gold shoes (flats or plats, I just don't get it), wearing any sort of wings to the club unless it happens to be Halloween(also kinda rude to everyone who is trying to dance around you and keeps getting hit in the face by them!), pajama pants in public, sunglasses indoors, the ever-present "Too Much Ass, Not Enough Skirt/Pants" syndrome, trench coats, Crow-esque make-up... seriously, I could go on for hours. It's all a matter of personal taste. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. What I think looks like shit-on-a-stick, you might think looks like a ball of schexay. The one thing I will say that I miss is the more widespread creativity with outfits that I remember from when I started going to City about 10 years ago. Girls sewing ENTIRE outfits (corsets, skirts, legwarmers etc.) just so they would have something that was uniquely theirs. DIY that went further than safety-pinning some pseudo-ironic quote to the back of a Tripp skirt. Guys who had wild hair and make-up (And wore it well!) Bring back some creativity rather than just showing up in a thong, electrical tape and boots! Just my .02, take it as you will.
  8. I agree with Tygerlili and Megalicious. Cheap make-up never seems to blend or last as long. All of my cheap stuff has gotten relegated to make-up for halloween costumes, or if I am in an absolute pinch and have run out of my every day stuff. I love the mac and chanel foundations. Sephora's loose glitter is amazing. Benefits Bad Gal Lash rocks my socks mascara-wise. For eyeshadow, either urban decay or chanel. Aveda's Inner Light loose powder is pretty amazing as well.
  9. Andy Deane from Bella Morte just released his first novel, The Sticks. More info here The Sticks- Andy Deane
  10. Was good to see FV again. The last time I saw them was waaayyy back in '02 out in Pittsburgh. Really, really did not care for the one opening band I saw, BMM. A vocoder, a girl wailing horribly off-key in pastel dreadfalls, and a less-than-inspiring sound do not a happy Kat make. Other than that, it was lovely.
