Shoes you REALLY want
livininxtcgoth replied to Brenda Starrr's topic in Fashion, Beauty and Costume.
i REALLY REALLY REALLY want a pair of Patent Red High Heeled Platform Peep Toe Slingbacks!!!!!!! I want them all red, no wicker/straw/cork/wood, and by platform i don't necessarily mean stripper shoes, just not completely flat and low to the ground (a little platform on your heels generally helps the balls of your feet not to hurt in my experience) I saw them on the DSW website but every time i click on them they're only available in black. If you find some.... give a heads up!!!!* *less than $200 plz.... -

DEMF: Super Awesome People Spot/Day
livininxtcgoth replied to livininxtcgoth's topic in Nightlife, Events & Concerts
Super Awesome People Spot still applies Saturday!! I'm not the only Super Awesome Person after all. All DGN/Super Awesome People can recognize said spot on Saturday. I'm just saying the Super Awesome People DAY the day we all say if we can only go one day this is the day we try to go... is Sunday or Monday depending on Popular Vote Hope to see you at Super Awesome People Spot on saturday night! (or elsewhere randomly around hart plaza...) -
Inspired by DGN corners and DGN nights (however in no connection or in any way publicizing or using the DGN name, just paying tribute to where the idea came from) I'm trying to organize a Super Awesome Peopl Spot and Super Awesome People Day at DEMF this year. Super Awesome People DAY is SATURDAY! I'm kind of a loser and won't be there till 6 cuz i gotsta work BUT everyone (not just here on DGN) seems to think they would rather go Saturday than any other day. If you are Super Awesome and can only go one day then make sure Saturday is it for it is Super Awesome People Day! All Super Awesome people welcome and encouraged to attend Sunday and Monday as well. Super Awesome People SPOT shall be near the fountain on the side closest to the Main Stage (the really really big one). Super Awesome People Spot is as such EVERY DAY so if you can't make it Saturday or you're there Sunday and/or Monday as well, come to the Super Awesome People Spot and hang out with likewise Super Awesome people! If you wanna gripe at me about this being out in blaring sunshine please feel free, I just thought it might be a little easier to find than the description of some other spots and it's open to more stages. If you have any better suggestions place them here but for now we'll say between fountain and Main Stage. By The Way... since this is Super Awesome People please tell everyone you know (only super awesome people of course) that this is gonna be a great hang out spot/day! All DGN-ers of course included as we are all devastatingly Super Awesome People but I (and many others) of course will be inviting non-DGN-ers who happen to share the Super Awesome quality as well. 40 Days and Counting

OK so maybe it's not the gothiest article of clothing we could discuss, but I'm sure most of us can admit to owning a pair. I actually need to wear them (or pants of a similar, casual and kid-friendly style) for work. I've noticed that all the $20-$30 crap jeans I buy don't last me very long at all. They seem to get wider at the waist and shorter and shorter in the legs the more that I wear them. I'll pull a pair of jeans straight off the dryer (or off the drying rack, I don't even always throw them in the dryer) and they'll be sagging at the waist and no longer coming near the floor after only the 5th or 6th wash. I'm tall and somewhat slim (although not so much in the hips/butt) and although my weight fluxuates and I do seem to be getting slightly thinner as i get older/maintain better diet habits, if I were really just getting taller and skinnier as I go through these jeans I'd be 7 ft tall (instead of 5'10) and somewhere in the vicinity of 90 lbs. My waist size has gone down about 2 sizes in the past year and a half, but I've gone thru about 5 rotations where I have to throw out all my jeans and go buy new ones only to have the whole thing start all over in 2 months or so. My real issue is finding jeans that are long enough. I've tried just cutting the bottom stitching open and ironing out the bottom hem of regular jeans, but that just doesn't seem to cut it. I know that companies like Wet Seal and Charlotte Russe sell jeans in lengths, but this is more of the cheap crap that doesn't fit well for very long. I also kind of need to buy jeans in either Juniors or European sizes. I've tried shopping Misses styles but I like really low rises, and these jeans are never low enough. I've learned that expensive department store jeans (the really pricey premium kind) tend to just come very long in a lot of brands (36" inseam standard, yay!) but of course now I'm going to be spending 5 or 6 times as much (at least) for every pair of jeans I buy with this option. I really don't mind spending the money to get what I want, but my bank account can't really support excessive buying at that level. So anyways, where do you buy your jeans? Got any suggestions for brands or stores you have good experiences with? (Oh and if anyone knows where to find black twill/cotton bootleg or flare pants, also preferably long, pass that along! Stupid age of the skinny jean that seems to be all I can find...)

For my day to day not all too fancy stuff (where i do get the mac/urban decay/random sephora/ulta/boutique stuff) Mascara - Rimmel Eye Liner - Hot Topic Eye Shadow - Wet & Wild (their multi-color sets are awesome) Blush - Rimmel Foundation - Cover Girl btw stargazer is another great eye shadow brand for fancy colors, u can get them online, it's from the UK. prices are pretty decent -
i has three tattoos. they rock. love em, no regrets, need tons more. tattoo #1, my 19th birthday i woke up and decided that it was an absolute atrocity that i had not inked myself in a whole year, and should do so as a birthday gift to myself. spend about an hour or two determining that i should get a kanji symbol meaning "dance", then spent another hour debating between my hip and my shin and researching to determine that yes this little blob does in fact mean dance. 3:00 pm that day i was in the chair getting said blob tattooed on my hip. for those of you that don't know me, my entire life is dance. that's it. if i had to give up everything but one thing i would give up food sleep shelter clothing and just dance naked in space until i starved to death. tattoo #2, for christmas my ex jake told me he'd pay for me to get this tattoo i wanted done on my foot. i had said before i wanted a pair of boots tattooed on my foot so i'd always be ready to "stompy dance" since i had noticed it sucks to try to do so without oddly large footwear. he drove me to a tattoo parlor to hear me say ya that really does not sound like a good idea... so a couple days earlier i had revisited some JTHM comics and commented that filler bunny would make a really cute tattoo. i remembered this, did some googling, and now have a 1.5" high filler bunny on my left thigh tattoo #3, i saw a suicide girl with stars tattooed on her nipples and fell in love. i called this guy i knew and made an appointment. see i would love to get my nipples pierced but i can't, cuz leotards+dance class+small children+auditions+parents+nipples and studs/rings=nothing good. so this sounded like a great alternative. until i started thinking about it, and the idea was nixed when drawing it on for a test run. i decided at that point that my filler bunny really would look cool as a zombie, as i had been thinking for some time, so darling fat scott drew up a zombified filler bunny with half his ear bitten off, rotted green, and holding his own intestine (how cute is that?). zombified filler bunny is now mirrored on my right thigh as you can see all of my tats were COMPLETELY random. the most planning i had was to either plan something else entirely or remember i had thot before that an idea was kind of interesting. for the record i have actually planned, had drawn out, saved up for and truly anticipated getting roughly 20 tattoos that never happened. the more i plan for something the less i eventually wanna get it. mine are so little i can't imagine ever having a big problem with em. especially the dance symbol on my hip. however i need more ink. prettify me

so i just realized that this is scheduled for saturdays and there is no feasible saturday at any time in the forseeable or unforseeable future that i will ever be able to do anything between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm on any saturday. i work every saturday. the whole damn thing. only time i can get out of it is to take one saturday a year pretty much for much needed vacation time. sorry... sundays were pretty much my only option -

back in high school i used to spend at LEAST every tuesday at trixies i'm not entirely sure how feasible it would be to have a couple dozen sewing machines there? i remember it as being endearingly crowded with little tables... knitting/crocheting would work better maybe? haven't been back there in years tho, and i'm all about supporting the place (not that big of a hypocrite i promise, i just live an hour away now) -
Douchebaggery + NECTO = Fail
livininxtcgoth replied to Msterbeau's topic in Nightlife, Events & Concerts
no i was speaking in general about the general distaste most people here seem to have (or have made statements that would make it seem like they have) for people who look normal. rubbing on someone without permission is a prime example of douchebag behavior. i get just as much lewd commentary and behaviors from punks as goths as "gangstas" as preppies, as yuppies, as hippies, as ravers, as [insert label here]. in such a case all of these people could also be just as easily and much more appropriately called ASSHATS my comment was referring much more so to the responses this post has generated, i happen to agree just about completely with mstrbeau's original post *edited to add that this lewd commentary is not exclusive to when i'm in my fetish/clubbing attire... i get hit on (and of course it's only the asshat hitting on, not the genuine "you are beautiful and/or awesome and i'd like to get to know you" hitting on that bothers me) in jeans, sweats, etc. again by all people from above mentioned sterotype labels -
Douchebaggery + NECTO = Fail
livininxtcgoth replied to Msterbeau's topic in Nightlife, Events & Concerts
i typed up this big thing i was just about to post but i know that no one but sluagh686 will agree with me, so i leave this there are dumb fucks in EVERY scene. to be perfectly blatantly obvious i feel a lot more welcomed by "normals" and people outside of the supposed "goth/industrial/fetish" scene because *most* of the "normals" have gotten over stupid labels and judgments and still think i'm a cool person just as much if i'm wearing jeans or a corset and fishnets. looking at someone is not a good judgement of their character. who cares if normal looking people are into fetish and who cares if they happen to enjoy darker music. you don't have to have an arsenal of tripp or latex clothing to be into those things. and then that being said, i do agree as i said earlier, with msterbeau that necto just plain sucks because of a lot of people there, and that a lot of other clubs lose their appeal because of the patrons they attract. my two best friends in the entire world are a guy who is the very poster child for the american eagle surfer boy (who also happens to get a hard on for both jazz music and goth rock) and a tree-hugging barefoot hippie who secretly adores emo music and her fiance's rap group. listen to depeche mode... "people are people" right? (sorry that got a lot longer than i meant it to... my point is that people we don't enjoy the company of are not necessarily more normal, they just happen to be douchebags) -

i used to have a big problem with that when i was in high school, i was taller than EVERYONE my solution was as such: work out a lot, pay more attention to how i looked, thus eventually looking pretty damn good so i could get more guys and filter out the ones shorter than 6'2" so i was free to wear as many crazy heels as i could and have killer looking legs not saying you're not gorgeous eevee--but we ladies need to stop letting ourselves settle for the less sexy shoes because our men slouch and don't eat their veggies lol
