  1. Look into the SmartBus. Pretty sure it's nice and cheap to the D. I'd be able to host you for a weekend, but me and my couch need to know in advance, so I can takes you to the club.
  2. Dude, I work in Novi and live in Southfield. You could be hangin with me! *disclaimer- I am crazy though.
  3. Harold should be so proud of you! He's got the purple fuzzy hat!
  4. If you are interested in learing canning I hate to say it but "Canning for Dummies" is awesome.
  5. You May Be a Bit Histrionic... Dramatic and over the top, you crave attention. And you'll do anything it takes to get noticed. You love to be seductive, even when it's inappropriate. If you're ignored, you're easily hurt ... and act out even more!
  6. You Need Acceptance You aren't truly happy in life unless you are able to accept yourself, flaws and all. You also need to be accepted by other people. You like feeling you belong and that you're not being judged. You are a welcoming and open minded person. It's not hard for you to accept others for who they are. You believe that everyone is happiest when we live without judgement or prejudice. And you're doing your part to make that happen.
  7. They are foiling my plot for a slow death.... I need a new plot.
  8. I'm thinking that... with me being the proud owner of a chainsaw... what the bets will be I chop off part of me on accident. I won the "didn't crash into a tree with the ride-on mower."
  9. When I have the extra money I'm plotting to build a little one. It probably won't happen for about 10 years.
  10. I think I should mow the lawn tomorrow.
  11. Still amused... I go to Home Depot for lumber and leave with lawn fertilizer and a chainsaw.
  12. I couldn't remember anyone, but an ex or two (and they don't count), saying anything negative about my look. But, I don't pay much attention to other people, so if they look at me funny... I wouldn't even notice them. Sometimes, I would agree with them though... I try not to leave the house looking ready for a mental ward, well not all the time... But, if someone were to say something and I liked my look, I'd stop and explain my choices and how the choices were made by specific fashion styles. I'm under the impression that a long enough conversations would do 1 of 2 things.... 1. Help change negative opinions. 2. Or homeskillet might stop criticizing people. (and hopefully learn something)
  13. I have a new chainsaw... Those bushes in the yard are going down... By next year I should have the garden plots ready... Oh, homeownership, it's a long and interesting process.
  14. I'm gonna have to keep track of the rain so I know when to fertilize the back lawn.
  15. http://www.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/06/22/obama.tobacco/index.html Obama signs bill putting tobacco products under FDA oversight Story Highlights Law gives FDA power to ban candy-flavored and fruit-flavored cigarettes Also prohibits companies from using terms such as "low tar," "light" or "mild" 400,000+ Americans die from tobacco-related illnesses each year, Obama notes WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Obama signed landmark legislation Monday giving the Food and Drug Administration new power to regulate the manufacturing, marketing and sale of tobacco. The Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act gives the FDA power to ban candy-flavored and fruit-flavored cigarettes, widely considered appealing to first-time smokers, including youths. It also prohibits tobacco companies from using terms such as "low tar," "light" or "mild," requires larger warning labels on packages, and restricts advertising of tobacco products. It also requires tobacco companies to reduce levels of nicotine in cigarettes. The new law "represents change that's been decades in the making," Obama said during a bill-signing ceremony in the White House Rose Garden. "The decades-long effort to protect our children [has] emerged victorious. ... Today, change has come." Despite a significant decrease in the percentage of Americans who smoke in recent decades, more than 400,000 Americans still die from tobacco-related illnesses every year, the president noted. Tobacco-related health care costs exceed $100 billion annually. Altria Group, which owns Philip Morris USA, the nation's biggest cigarette company, previously called congressional passage of the law "an important step forward." At the same time, however, it also expressed "First Amendment reservations about certain provisions, including those that could restrict a manufacturer's ability to communicate truthful information to adult consumers about tobacco products." Phillip Morris makes such brands as Marlboro, Virginia Slims, Chesterfield and Basic. A narrow majority of adult Americans opposes the law, according to a Gallup Poll released Monday. Fifty-two percent of Americans -- including most smokers -- are opposed to the measure, while 46 percent support it. The survey was conducted June 14-17. Before signing the bill, the president acknowledged the struggle that young people in particular face when they try to stop smoking. "I know because I was one of those teenagers. I know how difficult it can be when you get started at a young age," he said.
